If any of those other young players had the literal second best defensive rating across all of the players across all the D1 schools I would’ve made note of that as well. I will say, though, I do like Dylan Harper and I do think he has the potential to be one of the best lead guards at the next level.

Bullcrap. Duke is ranked #4 in the AP precisely because their schedule to start the season was as tough as anyone in the country. Now the ACC is down so Duke's strength of schedule in conference is weak. But there's nothing Duke can do about that except to tear through the league like they should. If Duke suffers no more than 2 or 3 losses in conference and wins the ACC tourney they will be a #1 seed come NCAA tourney time.

Kneuppel is smooth and without a doubt their steadying force and best player. When he's rolling they are tough. Flagg overrated from what I've seen so far. His most obvious flaw is that he has limited ball skills and gets out of control frequently. The team as whole gives great effort and they play great defense but I don't see them in the Final Four because they don't have a dominate ball handler who can get inside and distribute. They rely on the three against bad teams who don't contest those shots very well.
Flagg has a number of deficiencies. Weak with the ball in traffic, poor handle, middling 3 point shooting with good looks. Needs to think about different shoes. He slips and falls almost every game. Certainly not a generational talent. Gives good effort even when he has an off game. Makes some great passes, but too many dumb turnovers. Overall a good player, not great yet. I’ve been a Duke fan since before Coach K. I’ve seen great.
Sure he has deficiencies, he just turned 18. Tell me a Duke player from the past that was better than him when they were a senior in high school which is what he should be.
Why is Flagg so much worse than he used to be though? No steals or blocks this game in 28 minutes, only 13 points and 4 rebounds as well. This guy used to be all about the stats and he's not getting those stats right now at all. Great defender for sure but even then I sometimes see him not active on that side whereas in high school I feel he would show consistent effort. But maybe he's just not that worried about it because he knows he's at minimum a top 3 draft pick anyways. What shitty team you go to in the NBA doesn't really matter. He getting less blocks than steals so far as well.
