Gtfoh. Duke played great. Best theyve looked all year. Most physical theyve been and the best defense theyve played. Kentucky is just scrappy and better than you thought. No need to be salty about it…
Duke has more talent, KY had more heart. I think Pope is the ideal coach. Notice how hard KY worked, how hungry they were? That starts with the coach. My bet is that Pope turns out to be the best kept secret in college basketball. Went to both schools, love both programs. Go KY!
Copper Flagg grew up about 30 miles from my home town. He's an outstanding young man. He's poised and grounded. His parents definitely raised him right. I have no doubt he has the mental toughness to lead this team as a freshman. It'll be exciting to see how he develops this year.
Great game! As a UK guy I've disliked Duke ever since Laettner but I couldn't help but pull for Cooper Flag a little. Hopefully he doesn't let a few mistakes at the end get in his head. He was a huge reason they were playing so close.

Lamont Butler (SDSU), Jaxson Robinson (BYU), Kerr Kriisa (Arizona), Koby Brea (Dayton), etc. These are basically grown men who have been premier names in college basketball over the past 3-4 years. Duke is still a team made up of mostly 17-19 year old players. If they get better chemistry and more comfortable playing with each other and fix a few of the smaller things, this team will be real dangerous in march
Flagg is shooting 44% from the floor and an abysmal 25% from behind the line. He makes more than his share of mistakes and has blinders on when wide open team mates are begging for the ball. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see Cooper Flagg's greatness. 2 horrible turnovers trying to play one on one at the end of the game and then a simple missed box out to give them one more chance to tie. I'm sure he'll be better, but he doesn't appear to be an elite athlete to me. His offensive game is very simple and direct, almost rigid. He's a very well-rounded player, but nothing screams generational to me. Maybe I'm wrong.
Social media made him great versus what he is, a very good player. And you don’t have to be a genius to know why there’s been so much attention put on him.
TOs and missed shots is apart of growing pains for any young player. he’s 17(high schooler) playing against the elite competition in the country. if you can’t see the potential then you don’t know basketball my guy.
@, potential for? He’s obviously a talented youngster. No one is debating that. Can you explain what makes him a generational prospect without regurjitating talking points?

Oh my. In the closing seconds, the #1 college recruit had a turnover & then didn't block out his Kentucky assignment. Growing pains, we call this. Awesome win for the Kentucky Wildcats, who played relentless DEFENSE in the 2nd half, especially down the stretch.
Dukie here, first well played kentucky! I honestly dont know what happened to duke in the end. It wasnt the extreme defense, but more so they just couldn't make 3s or make some crappy shots. Cant wait to see both programs in march. Duke has one hellova schedule coming up. They could actually loose the next 3-4 games. Kansas one will be fun. Get to play slow toe dickerson😂
People were sleeping on Kentucky this year and Mark Pope just proved why he was the correct hire. And this is just the tip of the iceberg for Kentucky they're going to get a lot better as the season goes on. And props to Duke as well very talented team I expect to see both in late March.
to be fair, people had reason to doubt UK..Pope hasnt exactly been tearing up college bball at his previous jobs and the UK roster was practically brand new..the fact that they were even ranked to start the season should have made ya'' feel proud
@carsonc29 WOW! Just a casual basketball fan at best I can see. First off Mark Pope did a pretty good job at BYU he had a winning record every year he was there, he's a great Xs and Os coach and he ran one of the best offenses in the country and sure maybe he didn't have a tournament win while at BYU but he was only there for 5yrs and any coach that has had success with a small program it's always took years to establish them and make them a power program a lot longer than 5yrs I mean look how long it took Mark Few to make Gonzaga a consistent winning power program. And BYU moved to the big 12 a bigger and stronger conference add that to already having a disadvantage in recruiting and resources when compared to teams like Kansas and Texas in that conference I would say Pope did a really good job. Now we'll move on to Kentucky I will admit that people had a right to have their doubts I even had some myself as well. But we have to keep in mind that Pope is a former player that knows the fan base and school and knows what to expect and knows what has to be done. But outside of that once I saw that Pope brought in the best transfer portal class in the country I immediately knew that we would have a chance. I will admit that I wasn't expecting to be in the top 10 but to say we should feel good to just be ranked #23 in rankings to start the year tells me that you had no idea how good these players were that came through the transfer portal. Everyone of these players have either been winners or performed really well at their previous school and add that with Mark Popes offense I knew we would be ok. I mean many of these players were defensive players of the year in the conferences with their previous schools. And Kobe Brea is the best 3 point shooter in the country and as I stated earlier the other players all have had success or individual success at some point with other schools and Mark Pope brought them all together here at Kentucky through the transfer portal. I would take this kind of transfer portal class over a #1 recruiting class of highschool players every time. I mean like I said I didn't expect a top 10 ranking or anything but to say we're lucky to even be ranked in the top 25 period is crazy and tells me that you don't know the power of a program like Kentucky and you obviously didn't know much about the players that were brought in. But that's ok because now we get to show you and everyone else why Kentucky is the greatest program in college basketball history

Gtfoh. Duke played great. Best theyve looked all year. Most physical theyve been and the best defense theyve played. Kentucky is just scrappy and better than you thought. No need to be salty about it…
If UK hits their shots in the first half thats a double digit win…

Duke has more talent, KY had more heart. I think Pope is the ideal coach. Notice how hard KY worked, how hungry they were? That starts with the coach. My bet is that Pope turns out to be the best kept secret in college basketball.
Went to both schools, love both programs. Go KY!
These teams both played with heart!
As a Kentucky fan it was good to be on the winning side of things.
Thank you Kentucky!!!!... coming from a North Carolina fan 😁
The Heels can't beat Duke, so You're congratulating UK. LMAO
You're welcome, but you all are next
@pineytreez6811
They'll meet in March, and The outcome will be different.
@stjohnsriverrat7161 no because we're going to be a lot better then. GROWN MEN WIN!
Coach K isn't coming back
Copper Flagg grew up about 30 miles from my home town.

Kentucky just beat the future #1 overall pick, an olympian, 4 other future NBA players. No Duke player is under 6’5. and they did it with a bunch of transfers.
Just know this: Kentucky has a coach. Kentucky isn’t going anywhere. the Mark Pope era has begun

Those transfers were all stars or well-known players at their previous schools. You sound like those Colorado fans that act like Deion is winning in the horrendous Big 12 with the same players that were on the 1-11 team. 🙄
22 and 23 y.o players vs a team who’s star player is 17….. chill bruh
Duke ain’t 💩
Yup, and with big wins like these it's only going to make Mark Pope's job at recruiting even easier
Imagine if we had a Rob Dillingham on this team? Someone who can dribble the clock out and get you a bucket no matter what
Unfortunate last few possessions by Duke but great game! Flagg is looking better each time he takes the court.
Can’t depend on a freshman to carry you late in the game.
Always a good day when UK wins and Duke loses….even better when that outcome is a result of the same game! Kentucky needs more production in the paint that isnt Carr. Both teams will be scary come March. GO CATS!

@@archangelmusic13 More coping from a loser Duke fan. Explain how your "hurt" player made Kneuppel go 5-20 and 1-8. Should I sit here and wait? How about our eight blocks? Ten made threes? Your player would have blocked at least 8 of those threes right? How about the fact our BEST player went 0-4 and we STILL beat you? Duke coping is so hilarious. Kentucky outscored duke 40-26 in the second half. if kentucky was hitting their shots like normally it would have been a fifteen point game.

I wasn't at all surprised by the comeback. Look at Kentucky's roster.
The Blue Devils will be fine in the ACC, but they need to play tougher defense and get their point guards to play like PGs and distribute the ball better. The tougher team won tonight.

It’s so refreshing to see a good hardworking team beat a so-called 5-star filled team. College basketball is so much more fun to watch than the NBA. The coaching, defense , heart and hustle is refreshing basketball.

why bc he fed the ball to his best player who turned the ball over twice in last two transitions or that he got rebounded over on last free throw, flag not only was the reason why they had a dhance to win but he also lost them the game
bro the last 6 minutes of that game their offense was completely stagnant and on top of that he has way too much faith in Caleb foster whose just not that good
You can't win with a bunch of freshmen anymore, there will always be a more experienced day team come along and knock em out. Everyone's good nowadays. Duke, just better hope that they have as good as transition from all freshman to the new age style.
Duke put all their eggs in one basket
Got to see all of Dukes shots plus replays and maybe half of Ky shots.
Everyone on the court better than Bronny tho 😅
You gotta give credit to the Cats this is only these guy’s third game playing together, not a lot of chemistry but still got the job done and didn’t give up despite being down almost 10 points multiple times.
He isn't terrible but someone at ESPN has fallen in love with him so get used to having him plastered all over their site. In short time his team mates will start to resent him.

@@carsonc29 Foolish is what your statement is. They beat a top five team with the top pick of the draft after being down by ten and our best player going 0-4. Congrats to UK from an Arkansas fan. Hopefully they can stop complaining about Cal and just focus on the new era with Pope!
He will be a perimeter version of Jokic. Who's the best player in the NBA

Otega Oweh with the double zero and I like it
People were sleeping on Kentucky this year and Mark Pope just proved why he was the correct hire.
But that's ok because now we get to show you and everyone else why Kentucky is the greatest program in college basketball history
kentucky +6 ✅✅💰💰 never a doubt
