Thank you all for your kind comments. We never thought the documentary would get this much support and interest. This video was initially intended to be a one-time passion project. However, your support has inspired us to continue the series on Napoleon's First Campaign. We have been working on Part 2, which will continue the campaign through the Battle of Lodi, and are confident that it will be completed by the end of the year.
Good luck lad, I wish your channel well! I hope you and the other viewers catch my comment about historiography/EHTV stylistic elements. In short: I'd love to see more discussion of historiography and source material, and I think that would instantly skyrocket your channel above EHTV in terms of quality and educational value (It's already equal in my opinion). Listing sources is a great start, I will say.
Italy is where Napoleon carved himself into an Emperor. This campaign was so successful that it made up for the blunder against the Austrians up north.
We need new blood, I'm delighted to see a new channel filling demand for this uncovered campaign. Channels often become more complacent as they grow, newer RUclipsrs have an incentrive to try harder and produce higher quality work. I'm happy to see PMF Productions covering this rather than Epic History Tv.
@@christopherf8912 because he was a great commander. Maybe he was not innovative like napoleon but he had capacity and willingness to take iron decisions.
So far there is Warhawk and this channel. Overall the dramatic documentary style channels are fun to watch, but there is also a lack of discussion of historiography/source material, which is an issue.
@@Zogerpogger yea warhawk is also amazing, like I never saw any RUclipsr going in such depth for tactical details of battles and operations, such a pleasure to watch (also with his epic musics)
A nice little fact from Napoleon's days in Italy. Once he was crowned emperor of France he wanted to be crowned king of Italy in the Duomo of Milan but the facade wasn't finished yet, because of financial issues. So he told the architect to finish the project and said when he is crowned he'll pay for everything. So the architect had the labourers finish the facade and the architect added a little statue of Napoleon to say thank you for financing the project. He was eventually crown king of Italy with the crown of Lombardi but never paid a single cent that he had promised. I really love this channel, so much so that it inspired me to create my own history channel! Thank you!
I watched this two years ago now, glad to see your channel get involved with EHTV, watched all your episodes of 1796 and recently was aw'd at your work on Eylau, absolutely brilliant stuff and cant wait to see more
An outstanding video! The detail and different style, compared with more famous Napoleon's recounts, allows us to see the average height general making mistakes, being almost doomed, and suddenly being blessed with luck; but also his being prepared to exploit it. 10/10 want the rest
It's very interesting to see the early campaigns of these generals who have such massive reputations. Once can see how their reputation's growth results in later "good luck". Look at Caesar for instance, he talks about his luck, but it is clear that many of his later successes were to do his reputation preceeding him (e.g. Pompey's behavior after the battle of Dyrrhachium).
Ahh darn, one day I was hoping to make such a series, it appears someone more educated and qualified has beaten me to it! Whatever, I'm going to sit back and enjoy this excellent production. I hope this channel keeps growing!

Came at the recommendation of EHTV and did not regret it. Subscribed. Outstanding presentation, I will watch the continuation of your series on Napoleon.
Epic History lacks coverage of Napoleon’s early campaigns, so seeing your vid actually come close to the polish of their vids quite impresses me and I watched it start to finish. Excellent job and I hope you continue with a series.
Great documentary on something that isn't covered by any other channel in such a concise and easy to understand way while still being complex. Great job!
Impressed with your commitment to greater detail of operational maneuvers of the campaign, which most military history sites don't go into as deeply. Looking forward to next video.
Great video. This is exactly what is missing from the epic history war series. Really hope you continue to fill in the gaps! (or even make a full series about Napoleon).
Thank you for this video! From the visuals to the music to Napoleon’s quotes, I see it as a spiritual successor to EHTV’s amazing series. Looking forward to more of this.
I love these sorts of videos! They really help to supplement books (whose maps are less pretty and far more confusing). I think this video is better than any book I’ve read so far that covers this! So detailed! I love it! I wish you were still doing these!
Absolutely brilliant, a joy to watch and can’t wait for more. Of course you are heavily inspired by epichistorytv, I still love your additional information such as the resentment against Napoleons appointment. Can’t wait for more of your great work.
Millesimo, not Millesmio. Monte Negino in Italian is pronounced with affricate g [d̠ʒ]. The consonant cluster in (Torrente) Corsaglia has to be pronounced [ʎ], that is something like a geminate -y-, "corsayya".
Hello. Was looking for you on twitter/social media to have this convo but I couldn't find you - so i'll just say what i wanted to say here. I've always wanted to make this series on Napoleons first campaign. No one ever did it on YT and I planned on being the first. I kept procrastinating and had some personal issues come up so it took me forever. Last year, I searched YT to see if anyone started a series on Napoleons first campaign and then I saw your channel. I was so mad at myself lol, but seeing you start the series motivated me to finish my own. I waited to watch your episode because I didn't want it to influence mine. Long story short, I am here to say that I finally finished and published my first episode and watched your first two episodes on the campaign. You did a fantastic job. I look forward to seeing the rest of your series play out. Well done and congrats to you.
Thanks for letting us know about your new video. We agree that the 1796 Italian campaign is extremely interesting, and it's great to see another fan of Napoleon make a documentary about it. We wish you the best of success on your series!
Great job man. Very professional. I wasn't planning on watching the whole thing but I just couldn't stop watching. I hope to see more of your work. If I may offer you a humble suggestion.. I think adding the battles would make your channel follower numbers blow exponentially.
A lot of people are commenting on the Epic History TV connection. I personally hope this channel will come into its own and be considered stylistically seperate from Epic History TV. Utilizing stylistic elements of EHTV at first I think is a solid strategy, but I would also love to see productions that move away from the tired themes of (some of) the larger dramatic documentary channels on RUclips. These channels basically do not discuss historiography or source material which is *critical* for the study of history, and tend towards great man history. They often fail to adequately reflect the true horror of war in my opinion, and tend to focus on Napoleon's "genius" rather than his ambition, an ambition that got hundreds of thousands of people killed. Ultimately all works of history are biased, the nature of history is subjective, and it is important to keep in mind the "directionality" and approach to history that is taken by each channel, even if their productions are incredibly enjoyable to watch. Thanks for reading my little ramble!
