Join us as we take on the Poison Spider Trail on another episode of Adventure Awaits with Geahr Offroad. In this episode you will see the Switchback ledge, 3-5' ledge by cliff face, Prelaunch Pad, the waterfall climb and S-Turn climb, V-Notch, High speed Mesa, No name steep obstacle, turn off for Golden Spike, big hole and we finish the video at what I was told is Barnes Overlook. This trail is off of poison spider and it can be hard to find but you will see some trail markers. It is about 1 mile from poison spider turn off to the overlook. I really love the view from this location and I hope you do to. At this point we went back the way we came so we could finish 2 more trails to complete the Trifecta before it started to get dark. (poison spider, golden spike and gold bar rim)
Total time and distance: From Poison Spider trail head, all of the Trifecta, plus Gemini Bridges and then highway 313 back to down town Moab took 11 hours and it was 53 miles. If you drive faster than us you can try to squeeze in 2 more trail off the trifecta. Those trails would be "Where Eagles Dare" and "Rusty Nail" Hope you enjoyed the video!
Note: Each Jeep in the Moab and Ouray series are daily drivers from Indiana. The goal was to have fun but we needed to make sure we could drive each one all the way back to Indiana with no trailers. Each Jeep made the 4000 mile round trip with no real issues and returned to daily driver status when they returned home. It was really impressive to see these great results from 3 different wrangler generations. (LJ, JK, JL)

You are right on the money. Great trail to learn the different type of situations you can find yourself in while jeeping in Moab. Thanks for the compliment! 👍🏼

We attempted this trail last year and turned around right before the v-notch. We were solo and felt it was a bit risky doing this trail alone. I didn't realize how much the trail mellowed out after the v-notch until I watched your vid.

It does mellow out if you stay on the poison spider portion but it can get much harder on some of the connecting trails. You did the right thing since you were alone. The golden spike and gold bar rim in the Moab series highlight some of the connector trails if you want to check out those videos. This loops has even harder trails but we didn't take this group on those trails because it was our second day there and their first time. If you connect Poison spider, gold bar rim and golden spike it can take around 11 hours. It can make for a long day.
