Rivals day! The first rivals edition - bringing you a stadium cycling tour of Anfield and Goodison Park, home to Premier League giants Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club, as well as the crossing of the short patch of land that separates both grounds - Stanley Park (and it really is a short crossing!). The tour then heads to Everton Brow to see Prince Rupert's Tower - the iconic emblem on Everton's badge!
Skip to 1:16 to jump straight in at the Stanley Park crossing from Goodison Park to Anfield and then into the mini-tour of each stadium.
I did a loop of each stadium (where possible) and got as much footage as I could to show both stadiums as they were during the pandemic. I also captured the absolutely gruelling 2 minutes and 17 seconds cycling commute from stadium-to-stadium - I did say it was a short crossing! 😆
A lot of Goodison Park was restricted access due to the pandemic whilst some of Anfield was also restricted due to the redevelopment works taking place on their Anfield Road stand expansion. All-in-all, this was just a short (but sweet) half-day of cycling covering about 45k there-and-back.
Update:
As this was the first time I've tried this sort of thing, I've decided I'm going to cover it again in the near future now that Covid restrictions have gone and the Liverpool redevelopment will be a bit further down the line. I've recently covered the derby between Stoke City and Port Vale, putting a lot more emphasis on the history between the two clubs loaded with random facts and statistics and plan on doing the same for this one as I think it'll better and let's be honest, nobody needs to see more of the East Lancs 😆 Check out the latest rivals edition here: • Stoke City Vs Port Val...
