This has been very informative, thank you! No unnecessary talk about this and that, just the information people actually need. And, the resort looked very nice.
Sihanoukville was like a ghost town back in 1979 and everything was destroyed from the war. I had to leave this city at the end of that year by boat after surviving the genocide there. Can't wait for my coming trip to the Kingdom next month. Happy Autumn from Minnesota and enjoy your trip with your family!
@@SecondLifeTravels1 My last return trip was back in the 2000 to locate some old friends. I've never been back since they turned this city to China Ville with casino mecca!
😆 "a bad option, a worse option" for travel. You always have a bit of comedy in your videos. Thank you Eric for the great video. Really appreciate you & your family sharing your experience to share with other families or travelers to get a good tour. 🙏 The maps were so helpful too. Thank you
G'Day Mate , the trip looks sooo relaxing with no headaches ,bus looks amazing compared to the last time I traveled there , the hotel looks great too , enjoy .. Catchya...
Great video, thanks for sharing. We will be arriving in a few months. Looking at staying at scarlet sails also, but we have booked scarlet sails bungalows and not resort... is this the same company/property do you know?
Wow its very useful video. Thanks Eric. Could you please let me know how much they have charged for Bus ? Is it we have to book the bus in online or I can get the bus ticket directly ? I am landing to Phnom Penh. Over all how much time it took to reach Koh Rong from Phnom Penh. One last question is they any ferry is available in Koh Rong to return on the same day. ? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing from you.
@@SecondLifeTravels1 Thanks Eric. Thanks for your reply. Recently you havent posted any videos. Post more videos. We will Support you. One last question could you let me know, Over all how much time it took to reach Koh Rong from Phnom Penh.?
Hi, how long did it take to get there from Pnohm Pen? the ride in the bus was about 3 hours and a half? Right? And the boat? How long did the ride take?
Erik, one more question, when you said $15 for the nice bus you and family traveled in, are you paying with your bank app a lot or are you using Riel? How often besides small markets do you use Cambodian Riel, & do you ever use USD?
I paid for the bus with credit card, because I bought it online. You pay dollars for expensive (more than $50) and riel for cheaper stuff. If you pay, in dollars, you'll likely get riel in change. I actually have a video where I talk all about money. Take a look.
Do you recommend scarlet sails resort? i dont want to see any insect and mosquito in my room. is it possible? i booked another otel and i wasn't happy because of insect and mosquito
@@SecondLifeTravels1do you know of any place to store luggage? We will be traveling with large suitcases while on mainland and trying to avoid stopping in Phnom Penh at a family’s house to drop off luggage.
this was an amazing video and if i ever go to koh rong i will definitely be using these tips. thank you
Great! I hope this makes your trip easy!
Thank you for such an informative video 🙏
The place where you are staying looks really nice and peaceful.

Sihanoukville still has a lot of problems. I don't think you would recognize any aspect of Sihanoukville from 1979, due to the way it's been used.

I believe it's the same property!
This is actually very much informative, is there any way to get ferry schedule, and can we book it online in advance ?
No need. Ferries leave constantly. Always buy your ticket there.
As a family man myself, I enjoy your videos because your trips and activities are family centered. What things did you guys do while on Koh Rong?
Oh, just relaxing on the beach, renting a motorcycle and driving to other beaches. Very pretty and relaxing.
Did you take your own motorbike helmets with, or was it not necessary? @@SecondLifeTravels1

The bus runs about $10-15. You can book online. You can return on the ferry on the same day, but I have never heard of anyone doing such a thing.

Yep, about 3.5 hours. Boat ride was 45 mins.
Hi Eric,is there a specific schedule of travel per day for ferries?
Multiple ferries with multiple schedules. Just buy when you arrive.

You'll be in Southeast Asia, so you could spend $2,000 per night on the best resort and still could have a mosquito in your room.

Once I can get a renter into my condo, I am outta here and over there.
Do you advise against large suitcases on the ferry? I see some passengers brought them. Did you remember them having any issues loading onto the boat?
Nah, but they won't roll in the sand. A backpack is better.
