  • With CM Punk nearly healed up and possibly ready to return to AEW, those chances appeared to go down in flames with some explosive social media comments. Solomonster breaks down the entire situation and addresses Punk's comments about Jon Moxley and AEW creative, Chris Jericho being a "stooge" and even Dave Meltzer, plus new details from Fightful about BRAWL OUT, Moxley heat with Punk, allegations that Tony Khan wanted Punk to work the Dynamite squash with Moxley without medical clearance, why it appears Punk may be shifting blame from The Elite to Jericho and the number one reason why Tony Khan should cut ties with Punk. He also discusses Chris Jericho claiming that "Judas" pioneered the idea of fans to singing along to wrestler theme songs.

      - On 5/30/2022 Meltzer wrote in the Observer that Colt Cabana was off AEW TV, it may be related to Punk, and The Bucks pushed for Colt to get a new contract

Instead of just letting his contract run out. Page, the bucks, or whoever it was close to them shouldn't of been spreading rumors to people like Dave about Punk. Tony should of squashed everything as soon as Page did that promo. He should of cut Punk off and said no is not the time during the conference. Jericho shouldn't be talking about something he apparently only heard about with the media and Punk and Punk and the Bucks and Omega. And "reporters" like Dave should stop reporting on one sided news that their buddies say. Enough other wrestlers Dave has talked about said they never talked to Dave so he doesn't have the whole story. And Tony needs to stop kissing Dave butt and tell his wrestlers he finds out they are talking to any reporter they are done. That's why people look at the company like it's a joke. It's run by inexperienced people who can't handle a situation

If you go out calling people names who were the instigators to the main instigator, you've lost your point and given the company a reason to not punish the actors involve but rather punish him in the most severe form. If I'm WWE and I'm seeing this, I'm laughing to myself for knowing I did the right thing by getting rid of the cancer known as Punk as quick as I could when he wouldn't play ball with my management no matter how right or wrong we were. Punk's always nursing an injury, and is impossible for any promotion to deal with. Especially, behind the scenes.
He's always been this way, and is a huge mark for himself. From the time he broke into the business, he's had these issues, everywhere he's ever worked.
Phil draws nothing but bad press, everywhere he goes...

Why would Punk bashed his own friend's husband, Mox, on social media, making him and her look bad? Punk is not a good friend, not a good co-worker, and not a good business partner.

Thank you solomonster for going in depth and being pretty balanced all things considered. Punk is an ass, I don't think it's controversial to say so and I'm a huge CM Punk fan. But if what Punk is saying is true, this is once again a pretty damning indictment on AEW, TK, and saddest of all, Mox himself. All this talk TK loves to give lip service to about how AEW is a wrestler-first company, but to have guys come back before they're medically cleared? Especially given Punk's history with dealing with that crap in wwe? That makes him a gigantic hypocrite. And for Mox to flat out refuse to lose to someone, especially after he got all those flowers laid at his feet for being a company guy who supposedly took one for the team to step up when Punk went down, even going to far as to cancel his time off, only to come in and refuse to lose to someone unless he squashed him first? Beef or not that's just stupid and petty.
Punk is an asshole and needs to grow up when it comes to going scorched earth on people, even for minor slights. But for one second step into his shoes. He comes back, gets a massive response and is welcomed back home after so many years away from the business. Then people feed Meltzer some bullshit about how he's burying guys and forcing them off tv. He's already got a reputation as a jerk so that doesn't help him, even though we know those were complete bullshit someone fed to Meltzer who ran with it as fact. Then you have a guy who's only been wrestling for 5 years come out and go into business for himself in a promo against you and shoots on you. The same guy who's publicly said he doesn't care to listen to vets because "they started a revolution". As a fan, who cares? But for someone like Punk who holds deep admiration for guys like Jake Robert's, malenko, arn Anderson, Sting etc., I can see why he'd be offended. Then he gets hurt while the rumors continue on and on while your boss does nothing to squash them. All the while that same boss also apparently wants you to come back before you're cleared just to lose a squash match to someone you're about to beat in a few weeks anyway, but he apparently won't lose to you unless you allow the squash to happen first.
Yes. Punk is an asshole and needs to maybe come off his high horse a bit. But to everyone out there, especially the Jericho's of the world who just scoff and think "he's a cancer, he's totally in the wrong and he hasn't been slighted in the least bit" need to grow up a bit themselves. Because I guarantee if you were an athlete somewhere where you had rumors spread about you and you're boss didn't defend you while at the same time asked you to work or play hurt, you'd be pissed too

We never heard bad stories or other wrestlers complaining about Mox refusig to lose in WWE or AEW
Also Punk refused to lose to Ryback in 2012 and he did everything in his power to keep his title agains The Rock in 2013 he even confirmed in a Starrcast and the Cabana Podcast, Phil said " you could say i was trying to politicate myself into the main event of WM which of course i was "
Delusional Phil strikes again, even Roman Reigns and Aj Styles 2 of the most beloved guys have come out and said how much of a prick Mr Phil Brooks is...what does that tells you

I find it highly amusing that the same who people who LOVED Punk when he walked out of WWE, now all of a sudden call him 'unprofessional' when he has issues with AEW. This whole situation is a mess, and it's a shame that most people don't want to think about this logically. This whole thing started when Hangman did his shoot promo, which is funny because nobody seems to want to hold him accountable, considering he started it. It was about Punk supposedly getting Cabana ousted from AEW. If you take a moment, and think about this, that makes NO sense at all. Punk debuted for AEW in August 2021, and Colt's last AEW TV match (before disappearing) was in March 2022. That means that Colt and Punk were able to co-exist in AEW for 8 MONTHS with ZERO reports of them having issues. That alone right there destroys any credibility of the reports that Punk got Cabana ousted. Speaking of that, Meltzer's report made sure to point out that the Bucks 'saved' Colts job. If you don't think the Bucks had a hand in that report, then you are naïve, because why else would Meltzer make sure to point that out? So basically this whole mess started because of a lie. Punk firing back didn't help matters, but I can't blame him when nothing is being done about the situation. TK lets the wrestlers do whatever they want, instead of being a boss.
Was what Punk did at the scrum unprofessional? Absolutely, and he should've been punished for it, but once again, it's hard for me to blame him when people are spreading lies about him, and his boss is doing nothing about it. If this was happening to you at your job, and your boss wasn't doing anything about it, then you probably wouldn't like it either. I agree with Solo that all of these guys can't co-exist, and it's best for them not to be in the same company, but it really irks me that people are putting most of the blame on Punk, when ALL of this would've been avoided if TK was an actual boss, and didn't let people spread rumors behind the scenes, or do shoot promos on live TV. If Punk was truly this 'cancer' behind the scenes, I'm pretty sure there would've been a report about it within the 10 MONTHS he was in AEW before this whole mess started. No, the only cancers in AEW are the ones who spread rumors, and try to push people out of the company who are a threat to them, which in this case would be Jericho and the Bucks.
One more thing, Punk took down his post probably because it was leaked that there's a clause in AEW contracts that forbid people in AEW to publicly criticize anything about AEW, or about anyone in AEW. I find that pretty amusing, considering AEW was supposed to be different from WWE, yet apparently they're just as controlling of their talent lol

Do I think John Moxley has a problem with doing jobs? I don’t know but when I do know, is that the Wrestling community, both fans and “journalist” are very selective on who they call out for having that reputation. Go back to the Monday night wars era of wrestling and yes there were times when Hogan was selfish and didn’t want to do a job, but you can go back and watch ppv’s’s and even episodes of Monday night wrestling and see you guys like Hogan, Kevin Nash, Shawn, Michaels, and Scott Hall doing jobs, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall, lost more PPV matches in WCW than they ever won but for some reason they have this reputation of never doing jobs, but nobody calls out Bret Hart or Piper . When Rodney came back to the WWE after taking a break for a while and I’m not talking about in the mid 90s I’m talking about late 80s early 90s, we never saw him do a clean job for anyone but his cousin Bret Harte. After Bret Harte became a main event guy in the WWF other than the Iron Man match and less he was related to who he was wrestling he wasn’t going to do any clean jobs either. I just want to put that out there that just someone having a reputation for being like that or not having a reputation for not wanting to do jobs doesn’t mean they’re not backstage politicking. The wrestling world has people they want to demonizing people they want to hold up as angels when I think in reality, people are just people, but it’s the community who decides which ones were going to call people out on for doing things and which ones everyone’s just going to turn their head and whistle and pretend like it’s not happening.
