    Keep in mind that since firmware 1.41 for the IC-7300, there is a new PTT setting in the menu that per default disables PTT on the mic when the radio internally "pressed" PTT to transmit a recording. In other words PTT + PTT does not un-PTT. You can change that setting and then you can stop the transmission of a recording e.g. when someone answers your looped CQ. The 7300 is my only Icom so I can't say anything about other models, but the new PTT setting might be in there as well.

    You can also name the buttons. I have a SOTA CQ and POTA CQ labeled

    One of the reasons I got a 7300 to augment my old 706MKIIG. Technology marched on and I have to use an external digital voice keyer to save my voice with the 706.

    I need to get some lines recorded on my 705. I have it set up with the CW memory keyer which if you are doing POTA is extremely useful. The CW memory keyer also has an option where it will automatically enter a serial number in the QSO for contesting.

    One thing I have noticed is that when using this feature combined with the PTT Auto REC function, the transmitted (recorded message) audio can stutter while transmitting. I assuming it might be a reading while trying to write from the SD card thing. I just don't use them at the same time.

    Nice feature!!! Easier than the voice keyer. Good job.

    A little kludgier on the IC-7100, but I have been meaning to get this done. Thanks for the motivation.

    Mike! You are a life saver! I have used the voice recorder on both my 705 & 7300, but I hated hearing my voice booming back at me... I hadn't taken the time to really figure out how to "turn me down", thank you soo much!

      Yeah, it doesn't have to be loud but knowing the radio is doing something on its own really helps keep you in the loop. Using a RigBlaster with my 706 I don't have a monitor but there is bleedthrough to the headset in the RigBlaster so, though garbled, I know when the 'puter is sending it wave file.

    Wow a video of a feature that people would know about if they would read their manuals..... but I guess it's a quick video idea

  • @janvelter3253
    @janvelter3253 Год назад

    It's in the manual ... people should take a moment and check those things out ... and you know what's also int he manual. A schematic how to build an external voicekeyer for M1-M4 so you don't have to press your screen all the time. The only thing you need is 4 pushbuttons, 4 resistors which you have to wire up between pin's 3 and 6 of the 8-pin mic-plug and some other stuff to get the thing in-line with your microphone. Activate the "external voisekeyer option" it in the menu .... DONE.
    You know what ... It even works for CW and RTTY ......
    But like I said earlier .... if people should read their manual ... they allready would know this.
    I've allready build 2 of those. It's all in the manual and all over RUclips ...
