There are things I don’t like about remake but the characters are incredible. There are decisions that were made that are so frustrating that I just can’t understand why they would drag things out. That being said, I alway believe if you’re going to remake or adapt a story, now is the time to make some changes because we always have the original to back to.
@Arkry_ I kind of went through the compilation as a teenager, kind of cause I pretty much just watched them at the time but to me it feels like square was also going through an awkward teen phase and I'm hoping they'd move past it as well
@Brotagon1st_in_Hiding the compilation does kinda scream awkward teen phase yeah haha, I'm pretty sure Rebirth will win me over but I guess it's because OG connected with me so much that Im a bit harder to convince lol
I love the changes. It makes things fresh. I don't mind even drastic changes. This is a parallel world after all. The og story has already happened in one of the worlds that are part of this trilogy. Actually there are three worlds in this trilogy. OG, Remake and Rebirth (the alternative version of Remake world where Zack is alive) The last chapter trophy of Rebirth is called confluence of worlds. I bet we see Remake world merging with Rebirth world and og world and also Cloud and the others interacting with their parallel world counterparts and Zack. Aerith and Zack are already dead in og world and Tifa, Barret and Red are dead in Rebirth world.
Yep. This is exactly how it is. The og story is not going anywhere. It has already happened in world 1 but in worlds 2 and 3 things may happen bit differently. I love the changes. The og story with altered destiny and unexpected twists is a great concept. I think that Cloud will die in Zack's world.
@@ShadowgamerZ2024 i think that these worlds have different outcomes on who lives and who dies. 1. OG world = Everyone survives except Aerith and Zack. They both have been dead for years. 2. @@Kurt-uz2rt if it happens in a parallel world then yeah why not. Or i have even better idea: Sephiroth redemption story. Good Sephiroth vs Evil Sephiroth.
Dude, the ending of FF7 Remake basically told us THEN that SquareEnix was going to do whatever they wanted with the story, and had built a canonical excuse to be able to.
And they have said since that they will not stray too far from the path of the original game to ensure fans visit the same locations and experience the same story beats.
Having grown up with the original, it was hard not to go into remake with skepticism since the era of the compilation of Final Fantasy VII was filled with such cynically made products. Remake was very surprising in how sincere it was. It's clear that the remake trilogy is re-adapting a lot of ideas in the compilation, so I'm not too worried about returning elements since they will probably be much improved. The return of Deep Ground wasn't great in Intermission however, so results may vary. Still, the remake so far is very faithful with its only sin being pulling late game thematic material and putting it earlier, obfuscating the themes and progression for that part of the story.
I have come to peace with change, when you really analyze the compilation and the story plots, they set up a lot more for expanding the universe. Purists are scared and are still angry they didn't get a 1 to 1 remake with some embellishments. The fandom of this game are very divided now a days. I personally now fall into the multiple time line theories, AerithXZack, Aerith living, this is a new path and destiny. The way I see it, there are 3 timelines. The OG has already happened so it's in the past, the Beagle timeline is the Remake and Party timeline and the Terrier Timeline is Zack's new story. Crisis Core, there are definitely some cringe moments and dialogue. If the story itself had been remade, it probably would have flowed much better, but since it was already made and they are trying to maintain continuity since it technically falls under the OG timeline despite the Genesis retcon. It was originally supposed to be much longer and a lot of interesting ideas that may have sprouted forth never surfaced. The Zack journey to the Reactor was pretty much skipped. Crisis Core sets a lot up and Sleepezi explains it perfectly. Dirge of Cerebus was an odd story but exploring Deepground and giving Vincent the spotlight was interesting. I wonder how they will do a remaster/remake for this one? I mainly wanted to see the last cutscene at the end which made the game worth it to me. Then there was the online multiplayer which added to the Tsviets making the named ones a total of 8. Argento, Pummel, and Usher. This game will play a role as it already has in Intermission. Before Crisis now is the big question with the biggest amount of story for just a little cell phone game, it packs an enormous amount. Cissnei from Crisis Core is Shuriken in this game and though each player turk got minimal back story, each of them have an interesting past. There are 10 player Turks 11 if you count the last to have his own chapter, Legend. Then of course the old Turk Boss Velde who was Tseng's boss. Tseng and Reno also have their own chapter. This game is interesting because you see Avalanche from the Turks point of view as a terrorist group and a huge plot twist involving one of the leaders of Avalanche Elfe. Broden in Rebirth at Kalm inn could actually end up being Velde/Verdot. Katana, another player Turk is from Gongaga and could potentially appear as well. Gun aka Emma is also Elena's older sister. This game would have to be remade from the ground up and since a fresh coat of paint could be put on it, they could seriously create the true definitive version that flows with the OG/Crisis Core/DOC and the Trilogy. First Soldier and not the mobile game that sadly died, is the story of Sephiroth's origin and Glenn and his teammates. The origin of soldier and what it came from which in Ever Crisis, not much narrative about it is really in game mentioned but since this is a quick readers digest story, they are outlining some fantastic lore that really could explain Sephiroth's origin which there are 6 chapters presently out. The last 4 presuming it will only be 10 chapters long should be the most interesting. It's possible we could see a young Genesis and Angeal as they grew up in the same town and came to be Sephiroth's best friends. Also there are some of us who believe Glenn may actually in fact be Cloud's father. The looks are similar and in the story you see his parental instinct come out for Rosen and Sephiroth, which kind of makes me believe he is feeling guilt for abandoning Claudia and Cloud (if in fact he is the father). I also think that cloaked man is Glenn. Once the last 4 chapters come out perhaps it will give some more interesting pieces of the puzzle. The books Traces of Two Past and The Kids are Alright are already being inserted in the trilogy, and of course the On the Way to a Smile is all pre Advent Children which they are releasing for a reason. What reason it will serve? Perhaps we will see in Rebirth or part 3? With the expanded universe of FF VII it is the longest running series with the longest compilation. As they said in 2015, to some it may bring joy, to some it may bring fear, but let us embrace whatever it brings.
They have said on multiple occasions they aren’t gonna change the main story beats, so I think you can rest assured you’re gonna play the “same” game. What they have said they will add stuff in a meaningful and surprising way and flesh out things, like the way Kalm is now way bigger or the explosion steal mission with Jessie from Remake.
@@coreymckee4844 you don't really know if Zack's alive or not. It might be parallel to the main story in a different timeline or something along those lines.
