Airsoft toy tech guide
Video Code: T023
This video is a walkthrough guide for removing the orange tip from an airsoft toy tokyo marui hicapa
Make sure to follow all airsoft and replica laws in your area of residence, some places require orange tips. My area of residence does not require orange tips on airsoft toys and replicas.
I go by Wyhaq here on youtube and on social media platforms. Pronounce my callsign however you like, but I pronounce it as: Why-Hack. I like providing educational resources for all things airsoft, and I might sprinkle in some airsoft entertainment from time to time. The main airsoft toys that this channel will focus on will include the AAP-01 by Action Army (my current favorite platform), the G-Series by Tokyo Marui, and the Hi-Capa by Tokyo Marui. I work for a local airsoft arena and retail, and am a tech for g-series, hicapa, and aap-01. No toys used in my videos are customer’s property. Toys used in my videos come from three sources: my collection, shop customs, and shop commissions. My goal here on youtube is to provide a family friendly source of education for the airsoft community. I may do videos on product, news, tech stuff, gameplay, interviews, tours, and competition. I am here to help, if you have any questions or video requests, make sure to let me know in the comments section. As I am a college student, I can’t go spending money willy nilly. Video requests on stuff I don’t have ready access to may take some time. Игры
I highly advise people to try twisting it first if they are unsure if their barrel is threaded. I have the 1911 Night Warrior, and almost mistakingly crunched it to oblivion before realizing it was just a simple twist
It's not threaded but I will pin this because people seem to not understand that the "threads" are just residual glue or warped plastic from whoever installed the orange tip. These guns are NOT threaded.
@@Wyhaq I would like to agree but it is legit threading. I can send a picture as evidence if you'd like to share your IG
@@salmon4o4 my Instagram is wyhaq.us
I bought the combat master John Wick 2011 Taran tactical. It came with an orange tip the company told me to use a hairdryer on the barrel to loosen up the glue. I tried before disassembling and after disassembling but only applied the hairdryer for over 10 seconds each. Wouldn’t that damage the gun?
I just did that with my 1911 just now. Wish I had read your comment first. The tip popped off, and the threads don’t seem damaged, so I think I’m ok. I don’t plan on putting a suppressor on mine anyway.
You are not required to remove the barrel it just makes it much easier, also if yours does not immediately come off heat up a small amount of water to a pretty hot temperature and out the barrel in it just enough to engulf all of the orange tip (only use if you take out the barrel from the gun) and just lightly but with a decent amount of pressure pull it out, because the heat will loosen it up from to barrel but also softens the tip so you might start ripping it apart but don’t lose hope you got this!
Simple, yet informative 👍🏽
So mine had grooves and all I had to do was twist it off with vise grips so some are a bit different
Is it work on udl 2011 master?
This video gave me the confidence to not take the barrel out and just bite the tip off 😂. Worked so well!
lol, when I remake this video I will have to include that as an optional method
Is there any threading on the hi capa
Will this work on the KLI Baba Yaga?
Thank you so much!
I can vouch lreleasingvit breaking it. I actually broke mine doing that and i had to wait 2 weeks for a rellacement once infound out what will fit because mine is a kjw. Some kjw's are slightly out if spec but some fine sandfm papaer or a file can fix that. Lilyckily the edge went right in although you have to line it up correctly
Could this work with kjw?
Update: yes it does
Do it have a threaded barrel
the exposed part of the tip came out but some is still stuck inside what do i do?
Do you need to take the slide out or can I just take it off
Mine will not come off, I tried w pliers and it just ripped the front of the tip off and I can’t find another way to get it out no matter what
Been having a hard time finding metal slides. Everywhere seems to be out of stock. Where do get them from or know of any good sites to get them from?
I work at a shop that sells them, so I don't really have to find them. But some sites you should check every week are jkarmy.com rainbow8.com a-airsoft.com shop.ehobbyasia.com boomarms.com
Bro I Fcking love your videos man, sorry for the language 😂😂, no bullshit just straight to the point !!
Hi ! I'm looking for making a custom hi capa 5.1, and I want to use a tracer unit
But every affordable outer barrels are out of stock everywhere (in france) except the most expensive ones
I can't find any Airsoft Masterpiece aluminium fixed outer barrel
I saw some Nine Ball ones but can't manage to find proper reviews about them
Would you recommend these or other brands ?
Thx !
Nineball is good, it's just different. For nine ball you will definitely want to loctite the set screws, and maybe drill dimples into the hopup chamber for the set screws to sit in.
Do you HAVE to take the whole thing apart cause the orange tip sticks out and its not like half of it is hidden inside the slide. So do you do that not to damage the gun?
You don't have to remove the barrel. I just did it for the sake of this video and people who don't want to take any risks at all. Reallistically, I just remove it when it's on the gun.
@@Wyhaq ok thanks

idk man, I don't know much about the combat master
Its a metal barrel with plastic tip. The hair dryer won’t hurt the metal and it expands different than plastic
did it ever come off, because i bought one recently and it says you can buy a adapter for airsoft suppressers and such but don't even know if the rose gold barrel is even threaded so lmk
What if there's glue?
Unfortunately for kjw its really glued on
How do you remove the orange tips that are actually on the threading of the hi-capa? I have a Tokyo Marui hi-capa where it’s not that easy to take off. I was told I’m supposed to heat it up to loosen up the glue on threading that is securing the orange tip but I don’t want to warp the barrel since Tokyo Marui makes their guns stock with plastic parts and barrels.
I am unaware of a stock Hi-Capa from Tokyo Marui that has the orange tip threaded on. What is the name of the specific model?
@@Wyhaq it’s just called a Tokyo Marui 5.1 Hi-Capa - Black
I just recently bought a tm 5.1, the orange tip is actually threaded, so all you need to do is screw it out
@@karmaairsoft2630 Tokyo Marui pistols don't have threaded barrels.
@@Wyhaq I actually used your video to try and take my orange tip off of my tm 5.1 just to realize it was threaded on, not glued. So yes, they definitely do
This may be a stupid question but is it really necessary to disassemble the gun to do a simply thing? lol
Nope, I just showed doing it disassembled so people don't break their slide by being too aggressive.
@Wyhaq I just bought a tm 5.1 and they have treaded orange tips
they don't. Those "threads" are the negatives made by the glue attaching the orange tip. Tokyo marui does not put threads on these.
@@WyhaqI got a TM Hicapa 5.1 from evike and had to crunch the orange tip off to get it out and the inside of the barrel is definitely threaded I felt it with my hand. Idek
@@Dertheus it is not threaded. Tokyo marui does not thread the barrels on the hicapa. You are either feeling the fake rifling on the inside or the left over glue from a threaded orange tip. But the barrel is not threaded
@@Wyhaq Okay it must be the fake rifling then but the orange tip and the barrel looked "threaded" but like you said could be the rifling. but they REALLY looked like threads and the tip had them too and not rifling can I send you a pic?
@@Dertheus if the tip had them, then that is glue. They glued a threaded orange tip into a nonthreaded barrel
It didn’t work for me
Edit mine twisted off so check that first
is it the same on a we tech?
I believe we tech is different. I have no idea though, can't remember the last time I saw a we
@@Wyhaq alright thanks
So why couldn’t you just hold the slide back and do that without taking the whole thing apart? Just to show off you know how to take it apart? Or lack of brain cells? All in good fun
Well, it ain’t end up going so well for me
I tried to take it off of my new WE blowback pistol but we tried to heat the barrel up to get it out but it puffed up and I just broke a 200 dollar pistol
Dang, that sucks
Is the stock outer barrel threaded
No
@@Wyhaq thanks
Why didn’t you lock back the slide and take it off
Idk, this is just what I did
Do you need to take it apart?
The orange tips plastic is just bending and breaking
Same
BRO THANKS I JUST BROKE MY BRAND NEW HI-CCAPA!!! WTF
That sucks, how'd you break it
@@Wyhaq the slide wouldent go back on
@@jedstrunk2106 make sure the hammer is cocked, the sears next to the hammer are engaged, make sure that your hopup chamber is perfectly lined up with your barrel, make sure the barrel is lined up perfectly in the slide. then put the slide on the lower gently. it's not broken, it's just particular
@@Wyhaq k thanks I did it!
@@jedstrunk2106 awesome, glad i could help
Simple fix: get an outer barrel lol
yep, number 1 upgrade
Just circumstanced ma baby he’s a man now
