Very cool story and it sounds like you have your share of Gbodys. Time for some more! There are plenty around your area being that they don't rust. I have bought a car from Seattle and it is clean! The Toronado you have is rare with the Olds 350, very cool for sure. Would love to see some pics of your old Gbodys so join the Classic Gbody Garage FaceBook group and post them!

Good video I have a 1980 el Camino , I bought a console last year .Got a shifter with cable and brackets , and just got the floor brackets recently . I will use the measurements and see if they work for mine .
Great video.. I have 60/40s and some buckets on standby. I am gonna replace some floor pans and wanna save my mount brackets.. any advise on saving em so I can weld to the new floor pans? Cut off wheel maybe? 🤔
Hello, I'm looking for a facial for the pwr seat to mount control for a 1984 Hurst/Olds? Can you steer me in the right direction to order please. Cheers
So the only thing i havent seen anybody cover with this swap is the seat belt part.. can i just change out the inboard belt receivers in the front to get rid of the middle seat belt and change the position of the receivers?.. or do i also need to swap out the outter seatbelts as well?
All seat belts are the same except for the inners that bolt to the floor. Just get the bucket seat style. One thing you need to make sure of is the male/female need to match as GM did offer 2 styles of buckles. One style is all chrome and the other is chrome with colored plastic cover.
I have a seat of buckets in my 87 cutlass supreme but they don’t recline is there a way I can get them to recline back a lil further or just do a swap?
I have a 79 cutlass that I'm cloning into a hurst olds 10th anniversary where do you cut to do a t top roof swap I know 81 -88 the pillar is different for the t top roofs is it the same for 78-80 or do I just need to cut the physical roof and can leave the pillars
A pillars are the same but you need to be careful around the B pillars cuz those are different. I have never done the swap so I can't say where to cut.
Fixing installed 5 speed manual transmission in my 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix LE think about install bucket seats and center console. The car still has 60/40 split bench.
Hey i'm in Canada Quebec and salt is in use here , the body sucks but you got a frame to start with , but i personally would not go with anything with windows on the roof , if you want to make any power , that been said if you wanna keep it 307 go ahead !
I have a Buick Regal 1981 and I want to change the seats on them, I have bench seats but I want bucket seats what bucket seat would be best for me to put
Gbody buckets for an easy swap in. Otherwise you can get as creative as you want as long as you know how to weld. If your car has a straight bench then you need to weld in the inner seat brackets. If your car has a split bench then you are good becasue the inner seat brackets are already in there.
The Cutlass 4 speed, so sweet!!! I've never seen a factory 4spd Gbody. I wanna build up a Gbody that'll eat Fox Body 5.0s for breakfast! LS powered with a T-56 swapped in might be the ticket...
Do you have to Change the front seat belts as well? Obviously the buckles, but what about retractables? Have 60/40 bench and noticed the part numbers are different. Wondering what the difference is, if any. Thanks.

If you are putting a chevy console in the car then you need chevy type console floor brackets and shifter. You can buy the brackets from gbodyparts.com You will also need to locate a car with a console for proper measurements for the brackets. You will also need the cable bracket that bolts to the trans using the trans pan bolts along with the proper brackets for the linkage.
Can you upload A video on how to change the speakers in the rear deck ,the factory speakers are toast And I want to replace them with a newer speaker but retain the original look. Thanks
The speakers are held up with brackets and clip into place. Very easy to swap out. Aftermarket speakers will have a larger magnet so you will have either have to modify the factory bracket or sneak screws up under the package tray and back down through the new speaker to secure it.
Remove the factory speaker and there are holes for screws, if not you carefully drill them up without going through the package tray. You then go through the large speaker hole and sneak the screws down through the screw hole. Hold the speaker up and install the nuts.

You best bet would be to scour ebay for one.
I have a 79 El Camino...is it a g body? Some forums are saying it is, and some say it's not.
78-81 is technically an Abody but GM changed the lettering in 82 but still used the same chassis so 78-88 are all considered Gbody
