Brann always has the best live drum sound. It's hard to get drums to sound big and heavy without sounding flubby and boomy while still cutting through the mix but not being overpowering. Their engineers definitely know what they're doing. The dudes doing Gojira's sound know what's up too
For anyone commenting on the crowd, they were on the same lineup as Artic Monkeys, John Meyer and Ed Sheeran, so that might explain why everyone was like O_o

Hey guys they are amazing live ok? You only need them to lip sync the music and be mastered and mixed by the band only ok? You have to feel the music in your bones like James Bargar to really get the "live" performance. I personally can shit into a dumpster and make better noises with my asshole better than this. Metal is probably the only genre thats lucrative without touring. An acquired taste that doesnt attract spectators like before. No sold out arenas but fans will still buy the music.
When this CD first came out I must have listened to this song about 100 times in a row during my commutes back and forth from work. I then realized I would have to stop for a while because it was putting me in a....um....."mood". After I stopped spinning the CD in my car I recall it took a few months before my brain stopped spinning it continuously in my head. 😜🤐🤩😶🥺😬🤩
It seems Brett was maybe too drunk to sing? Not too drunk to play, but it sounded he was just sort of humming along in a low drone, and his facial expression looked a bit out of it. Bill looked angry, but maybe that's just his regular expression. Troy seemed to notice, and started singing more during the chorus. But maybe it's just me.

I mean, almost all the grindcore band have good stage presence. I recommend some Obscene Extreme Festival footage. Look for Rotten Sounds or Ratos de Porão just to begin with
I always feel like the sound engineer has it out for this band. The vocals are ALWAYS too low which makes all their live stuff sound awful. Hopefully they got a new one because I’m seeing them in September
I saw them in May. I’d say that it was quite hard to hear Brent sing most of the time and sometimes Brann was hard to hear as well. And you couldn’t quite hear Brent’s guitar from Bill’s… Still great though and would love to see again. Hope you enjoy your concert!

The crowd response from these guys has never satisfied me. I saw them at Mayhem last year and everyone was sitting. Granted they played none of their best songs like Oblivion, Divinations, Iron Tusk, Leviathan, or March of the Fire Ants. They are an amazing band, but live they just can't get the crowd jumping.
Jacko Rijzenga Mastodon played at around 6 to 7 on Mayhem. Side stages start at 12:00. I think Mastodon's live performances as of late just lack energy and performance. To be fair though most of the people there were for 5FDP and Rob Zombie....which means they all have an I.Q below 90 and can't grasp progressive metal and lyrics that don't involve punching people in the face cuz your angry.
