Years after the onset of the Clone Wars, the noble Jedi Knights lead a massive clone army into a galaxy-wide battle against the Separatists. When the sinister Sith unveil a thousand-year-old plot to rule the galaxy, the Republic crumbles and from its ashes rises the evil Galactic Empire. This was the first trailer I saw before the film. As a 13 year old I'd never looked forward to a movie being released as much. I watched it over and over and over again, trying to imagine what the scenes would be like. The prequels rocked imo.

17 years later and the movie is still a timeless classic, so many good memories.
I wouldn't exactly call it a timeless classic, I mean it was absolutely hated for years and was trolled beyond belief. One of the actors careers was almost ruined and the hate he got was unimaginable. As much as it's loved now, this was not a timeless classic.

What you're referring to are niche internet weirdos, and most of their voices weren't even heard until around five years after Episode III was released. Nobody in the real world cares about what Opie & Anthony or Mr. Plinkett or other manchild weirdos have to say. The vast majority of people loved the Prequels from day 1, and while critics hated I and II, as well as V and VI, by the way (though who cares what professional "critics" with no creative education think, either?) they did react positively to III, as I indicated. But even so, "timeless classic" doesn't even mean it's instantly loved. You're thinking of the term "instant classic."
The hate for Hayden Christensen was in the wake of II, not III. Not too long after Star Wars he was also the lead in a real dud called "Jumper."

I don't think it was considered as good as you think it was, but I wasn't around then so who knows, but from what people talk about today it seems like it was really hated. Also haydens career was almost ruined and that couldn't have just been from a 'niche' group, it was from a lot of people, the majority.

I’m glad there’s other people out there that didn’t see this plot twist coming. As an adult it seems so obvious but as a child I was legit surprised when palpatine revealed himself as the Sith Lord.

Game_ Central hate is not the word, but a lot of fans were disappointed in the prequels but this one made and wrapped it to where it’s not as a sour taste in our mouth.
I hate the first 2 prequels but I find Revenge of The Sith at least okay. Not great or even good, but just okay. Basically, it's the watchable one for me.

I'm just saying, if they're is one movie that describes over criticized, it's Revenge of the Sith.
Hell the first two in the trilogy had it's problems, but even those had too many redeeming qualities to be hated on. I am aware that I can't change your opinion, just as much as I agree that the original trilogy is better. But what do you expect, it's legendary.
But Revenge of the Sith was what pushed me into the series and is the reason why Star Wars and I have come along way. It was my childhood.
If you have a problem with the movie then that's fair. But can you at least show some consideration for expressing my thought.

Zer0dog but it makes no sense. How can she beat someone who has pretty much completed his training? You will answer chewbacca wounded him. Well why does he not escape Starkiller base? The duel is forced in the film and shouldn't be there. Also how does Finn survive a lightsaber slash up the back? And why does the ground suddenly separate when Rey is about to kill Kylo? COINCIDENCES maybe? The duels in 3, 5 and 6 are much better. They actually have emotion and character depth and most importantly they make sense and don't have a MaRey Sue character with no flaws
For those saying how this was a spoiler/summary of the film rather than a trailer, I hate to break it to you but everyone knew what was going to happen as 4, 5 and 6 were already out 😂.

Yes, because everyone knew the clones were gonna kill the jedi, palps was gonna fight jedi and anakin and Obi-Wan would fight on mustafar, everyone knew that.
Not the point. We knew that Anakin was gonna turn evil (unless you literally never saw Star Wars before this film-in which case this trailer also spoiled you) but we didn't know the entire plot of the movie.

Man what a fucked up life Anakin must have lived. He was born a slave with no father in a desert planet and then had to leave his mother to become a jedi only later to find out she had been enslaved and dies when he tries to rescue her, so then he joins the dark side to try and save his wife but in the process gets his limps chopped off by his master and burns in a lava pit and then his new master gives him a horrid cybernetic suit and just after he receives it he is informed that his wife had died and he was the reason for it. Not only that but 20 years later he had to suffer the humiliation of being defeated by his own son in a lightsaber dual infront of his emperor and as a result dies in the death star. Again, what a shit life Anakin/Darth Vader lived eh.
I guess, but hey at least he got married to a really hot girl though.

Not to mention that he failed to prove his Padawan's innocence at the last possible moment, causing her to leave the Jedi Order.
Anakin killed himself by taking the helmet off. It was unnatural for being alive like that according to the Jedi code, Luke could have carried him out like how Anakin carried Obi Wan out in the Revenge of the Sith. He was ashamed by what he had become.
Morgen Vade Anakin would have died without taking the helmet off too. When he dropped Sidious into the deep his electronic systems got damaged by the emperor's lightning, you know.

Oh yeah. I grew up with the OT, and I loved the prequels as well. They really built up the world of Star Wars, but still had their own identity. It was this "glorious" past that was a distant memory for most by the time of Episode IV. The new stuff for me doesn't really feel the same. There really isn't that much new being added into the world. The overall lack of aliens in the new movies makes it feel closer to Battlestar Galactica than Star Wars to me. But that is just my opinion.
I kinda agree while I hated some aspects of episode one cough cough JAR JAR!!!!! And the "romance" in episode 2. But the prequels just added so much to star wars that I think they redeemed themselves

a single white female I thought the cgi was ok, of course all of the Star Wars movies have a ton of cgi. But overall, I thought the movie did a great job, even though we knew what was going to happen. It did an excellent job of properly setting up Anakin’s path to the dark side, and set up the original trilogy very nicely.

@@willcc19-18 phantom menace is easily the best of the prequels. They used way more models than CG and it stands alone as a movie with a beginning, middle, and end. 2 and 3 try WAY to hard to tie everything into a neat little bow for the fans, but this makes it fail spectacularly as a movie.

Yeah I always thought it was supposed to be a big reveal that Palpatine was the emperor but he is the same actor we saw in return of the Jedi and even in 1977 when the first movie can out there was a book hat said the emperors name was Palpatine.
We already knew that Darth Vader was Anakin and that the empire had to take over.
Cuthbert Muckley not the 'what' but the 'how' (palpatine takling mace and the jedi, chewie's appearance, and so on).
The original trailer was actually more vague than this. This was most likely made years after, now that everyone knows the story.
This wasn’t made to surprise you. It was made to unfold things and explain concepts what weren’t explained in the original trilogy.

I guess man but I'm in love with star wars space and planet battles. Ever since I saw the battle of Geonosis from episode 2, I longed for more clone trooper action.

I remember my parents dragged me to see this movie in the theater when I was a kid because they couldn't find a sitter and they were huge Star Wars nerds so they weren't going to wait lol. I was still at an age where I was bored by movies that weren't cartoons, and my parents warned me this movie would be way longer than most movies I'd watched, so I brought my gameboy planning to play games on mute the entire time. I knew nothing about Star Wars except the names of some of the characters. I remember turning off my gameboy because I got so sucked in to the story. I thought it was amazing. Started telling people Star Wars Episode 3 was one of my favorite movies lol My parents loved it and they were impressed that it was so good it had turned me into a fan

I do NOT care what anyone says , the prequels are my Star Wars movies it’s the ones that I was born to watch in the late 90s and early 2000s I went as a kid to see all three , yes I’m familiar with the original of course because my uncle was a super fan and made me and my brothers fans we had the toys the lightsabers as a kid I remember walking out of episode 3 as a 8 year old in tears . I also can not picture anyone else playing anakin other than handsome Hayden C. Those eyes of his are terrifying and so believable it scared me omg I wish I can go back in time man this was the best days of my life as a kid . Episode ||| definitely was my favorite

I like as time goes on, fans appreciate Episodes I-III more. To many fans of a certain age, Episode III is there favorite S.W. movie.
Third one is pretty cool. Episodes I and II I think even those who adored it as kids hate as they grow up
