- I decided to do another supermarket challenge and this time it's hamburger helper for a day including breakfast lunch and dinner! this is my first non frozen food supermarket challenge! hamburger helper are super affordable cheap meals and some of them are actually good! I did a review on so many including the cheesy ranch macaroni and lasagna! the budget for this was around 50 dollars because of all the beef! which other supermarket meals do you want me to review?

My favorite hamburger helping growing up was the beef stroganoff. I loved to add sour cream. 😊
Adding sour cream to the stroganoff one really does make it so good!
I was very poor growing up, so Hamburger Helper was like a delicacy! But, miss tuna helper was like once a month and by that i mean we had boxed mac and cheese and put a can of tuna in it. 😅
I have 100% done the tuna mac before. Super affordable and honestly pretty tasty. No shame! 👌
I thought cooked canned tuna would be weird but I like it.

I used to make that same tuna, mac n cheese, when my kids were growing up. Try adding half a can of Cream of mushroom soup. Game changer, sooo good and creamy. It filled my kids up and they loved it. If it comes out a little loose, just let it sit for a few minutes off the heat.

I was introduced to using different proteins and adding extras. We used spicy sausage for the meat. We started out by sauteing onions and and adding vegetables of some kind. It really added something to it.
My family just lost our dog, she was 11, but it’s been tough but I swear no matter what, you make me laugh. All the Giada comments and just the things you say, make me crack up. So much dedication with all the multitasking cooking!! Haha thank you Timmy, love you! 😊

When i make the cheesy enchilada
Hamburger Helper, I add the white cheese packet with everything else. When I'm finished cooking it, I warn up tortillas, and shredded cheese, ect.

I like the Lasagna one best. I make it with sweet Italian sausage instead of hamburger and it is so good. Parmesan and/or Romano cheese is a must.

I like the tomato basil penne. I like keeping it on hand because it doesn’t require milk. I definitely doctor it up though with extra spices and cheese

Hi Timmy, if you ever try this again; you can substitute with ground chicken, ground turkey, or ground pork. You can also use canned chicken instead of canned tuna. I do not eat hamburger helper anymore, but it was a staple when my children were little. If I would want to try again, the tuna was always my favorite. Thanks for a fun video!

He used lean beef so it doesn't put out as much grease as regular ground beef.

Idc , I'll love Hamburger Helper forever, I tell ya ! My favorite is the lasanga ❤ The Velveta Philly Cheestake ones are KING of all boxed dinners , imo. What's cool about boxed dinners is that you can always add fresh ingredients and switch up ingredients.
Sometimes you have to let things sit for 5 minutes to let sauces thicken up under a low heat, it helps!
I know you were trying them as they are, however if you ever do eat these again...I always add seasonings to the meat, plus garlic and onions. It makes it SO good! Love ya 💛

I cook Hamburger Helper from time to time. I cook mine with ground turkey breast and the stroganoff I add sour cream at the end. I also let them cook a little bit down so they’re not so runny. My grandkids love the double cheese macaroni!

Its been a long time but when I regularly made hamburger helper I would add a can of rotel. It really made it taste better and added a hint of spice.

Never a big fan of hamburger helper but i do like tuna helper. The creamy pasta was really good but not sure if still available. But one poster said substitute canned chicken for tuna sounds really good
I grew up on Hamburger Helper and it seems like they used to season it more back in the day. It tastes like they "blanded" it down. I always have to add seasoning to most of them now.
When I was a kid.. we used to tear up some Hamburger Helper. Lol. And now sometimes as an adult, I'll cook it haha. Some of them are actually really good. Another great video.

The cooking directions say to "If necessary, uncover and cook, while stirring, an additional 1 to 3 minutes to desired consistency."
This definitely should have been done with the beef pasta.
Beef Strogonoff is the best one. Use smoked paparika to give it the brown color.

I love the fourcheese lasagna hamburger helper. I'd always do the regular meat seasonings and take out a quarter of milk and then when plating, i'd put a scoop or two on a slice of bread. It's my favorite comfort meal!

Loved the catwalk style walk with the shopping cart! So very Timmy! My son and I eat a lot of Hamburger Helper. Our favorite is Deluxe Philly Cheesesteak, topped with French fried onions for an added kick of flavor. Yum!

The double cheeseburger Mac and cheese was my favorite growing up. My family lived on tuna and hamburger helper because it was cheap and we always added an extra bag of egg noodles or macaroni in with the box to expand the servings amount. We would take bread and butter on the side to dip it into the hamburger helper as well and to wipe the bowl clean.
There was a lemon and herb chicken helper we would get if we could afford chicken lol. It was the best.
(Tuna was cheap and we got beef from my grandparents who owned cattle so were lucky there. But struggled a lot still with things)
