It’s actually from Jewish culture regarding a dinner, the servant would not clean the area if the master had folded his napkin because it indicated he was coming back. Still the same application though!

Jeremiah my friend. I appreciate your openness in looking at the Shroud - evidence of your statement that you "became a truth addict." I invite you to keep going in considering the question "What is the greatest gift God can give us? Himself". It's all there in John's Gospel, Chapter 6. For 20 centuries since the Last Supper, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist is celebrated at every "Mass" - where we 'enter into the sacred mysteries of Holy Week.' Jesus spoke literally, he was understood literally, and when questioned again he doubled down, and tripled down - Jesus said what He meant, and meant what He said. I invite you and others to encounter Christ in the Eucharist as you've never encountered Him before. Just as the Shroud gives up hope in our own Resurrection, the Holy Eucharist is a constant reminder that He is truly with us always - Emmanuel. God Love Ya fellow Christians

The occult-magic-mystic Eucharist (Transsubstantiation) is just not more than the typical result of wrong Bible exegesis approach and not considering the biblical account:
      Luke 22
19And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 20And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This CUP that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
The apostle Paul obviousey didn't know anything like the Eucharist (Transsubstantiation). With his epistle to the Corinthians he confirmed what Jesus said: "IN REMEMBRANCE" and he even added "TO PROCLAIM":
      1 Corinthians 11
23For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 25In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This CUP is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in REMEMBRANCE of me.” 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you PROCLAIM the Lord’s death until he comes.
And if BODY/FLESH and BLOOD must be understood literally then why not also CUP? Some did and therefore there is the fabulous story of "The Holy Grail". Also this is completely nonsens or how to understand the prophecy of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew literally? Which CUP the disciples will drink?
      Matthew 20
22Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the CUP that I am to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.” 23He said to them, “You will drink my CUP, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
If somebody sticks on the literal exegesis of BODY/FLESH and BLOOD, then here some other commands of Jesus to be practiced literally. So each catholic must procure a wooden cross and something to cut the hand or foot in case of sin. All the best:
      Matthew 10
38And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
      Matthew 18
8And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. 9And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.

@@wipo3654wipo wrong Bible exegesis according to who ? According to you who’s seperated from Christ and his apostles by 2000 years ???
Now if we had a choice to believe or not to believe in the Eucharist wouid we trust in your exegesis or wouid we trust in the exegesis of the Bible from someone who was a direct disciple of the apostles ??
One such disciple of the apostles of Ignatius of Antioch who was a student of the apostles Paul .
Let’s see if he agrees with you on the Eucharist or he agrees with us ?
Here he calls the docetists heretics (meaning he didn’t consider them Christian’s ) because they didn’t believe in the Eucharist
Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God… They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes. -Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 6
Again let’s repeat what Ignatius said. Are you saying that your Bible exegesis on the Eucharist is more correct than someone who received his biblical exegesis directly from the apostles ????????
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 is all I have to say to that .
      Again let’s repeat this part
They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes. -Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 6

@@courtneyharrell7758actually it is not a symbol and even the students of the apostles like Ignatius of Antioch were not taught by the apostles that it was symbolism .
Ignatius said it was the flesh of our lord and savior and said because the docetist gnostics who didn’t believe r it was the flesh of Christ are heretics who would perish in their disputes .
Very early on the early Christian didn’t consider the Eucharist to be symbolic .
This was in 110ad so very early on in Christian history . Your pastors won’t teach you the exegesis of these students of the apostles because they were a little too catholic for their likings 😂
But we have an abundance of the earliest Christian church fathers that believed the Eucharist wasn’t symbolic
Justin martyr in 155ad said this .
The Eucharist is that food of which no one is allowed to partake, but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true and who has been washed with the washing that is further remission of sins and under regeneration and who is so living as Christ has enjoined.”
In other words, the three criteria to know if you can receive the Eucharist are, one, you need to believe the teachings of the Catholic church. Two, you need to be baptized. And three, you need to be in a state of grace, we now say. You need to be living in a Christian manner
For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus” (First Apology 66 [A.D. 151]).

Great point that we dont worship the shroud, or make it the reason to believe. But I think there is a possibility that the Shroud has something to with the idea that in the end times, people will get to see the truth of Jesus. Dont think it would be completely obvious, yet something like this. Should give the heavily scientific a reason to inquire. It has blown up on the internet, and many end time prophecy are playing out.

I truly believe investing some time into additional work in the editing process of these videos would yield great results. By this, I mean showing what is being referenced on screen... whether that be pictures, clips, documents, articles etc etc. People are far more likely to invest more time when one does this. They feel as though they are receiving a more detailed, thorough understanding. If not, they will seek it elsewhere. God Bless 🥰

See Dr. Mark Guscin the Historian of the Suderium of Oviedo to see if he still has his dissertation available on the 6,000 scientific studies on how the blood on the Suderium matches the blood type, stains and formation to match the Shroud. Yes, there was a SOUDARION on Jesus' head when He rose, and not something like the Shroud. According to the GOSPELS' CONTEXT the Shroud of Turin CANNOT BE the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ:
The Shroud cult starts with misleading biased Bible translations of the Greek word SINDON as "a linen shroud/sheet/cloth". But there is no indefinite article "a" in the original Greek texts of Matthew 27:59, Mark 15:46 and Luke 23:53, e.g.:
      Mark 15:46 ESV
"And Joseph bought a linen shroud ..."
In this case there are 3 Greek words only:
      "KAI AGORASAS SINDONA ..."
      This literally translated:
"And having bought linen cloth ..."
So, the CONTEXT is decisive and the correct unbiased translation/interpretation of SINDON must be "linen cloth" as general material description because Joseph of Arimathea bought ALL the needed burial linen cloth: bandages/strips (OTHONION) and the head cloth (SOUDARION).
And the apostle John didn't mention SINDON in his gospel because he also didn't mention the all-inclusive purchase of Joseph of Arimathea. Also the apostle John focused more on the burial and resurrection details and there is nothing described like the Shroud.
      John 19
39Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds [32 KG]. 40So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths [OTHONION] with [META] the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom. 41Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
      John 20
5And stooping to look in, he [JOHN] saw the linen cloths [OTHONION] lying there, but he did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths [OTHONION] lying there, 7and the face cloth [SOUDARION], which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths [OTHONION] but folded up in a place by itself.
Nicodemus organised about 32 kg burial spices. He was a leading Rabbi who knew WHAT was needed, HOW MUCH and that there was ENOUGH TIME to do the burial spicing that later should suppress the smell of decomposition. Jesus died around 3 pm and Sabbath started around 6 pm. Enough time to take the body from the cross, to wrap/bind the body in linen cloths (OTHONION) W I T H the spices between those bandages/strips according to the burial custom of Jews at that time. Jesus was transported to the nearby rock-tomb and laid in there. Nothing else was done in the tomb.
As described by the apostle John, the burial wrapping/spicing was completely done according to burial custom of Jews at that time. This was observed by the women. After Sabbath the women intended to anoint Jesus. ANOINTING is something completely different than the BURIAL SPICING and according to the New Testament it concerned mainly the head/hair, as an act of honour.
The head cloth (SOUDARION) fully covered the head and the rest of the body was wrapped/bound in linen cloths (OTHONION]) with the spices between those bandages/strips. The head cloth was part of the burial custom of Jews at that time. Once added, it remained on the head, as we can see in the gospel of John as well:
      John 11:44
44The man [Lazarus] who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth [SOUDARION]. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
Some commentators are mentioning a Jewish tradition that a master, when leaving a dining table, either left his napkin (SOUDARION) unfolded to say: "I am finished", or he folded it to say: "I will come back!"
I couldn't verify this tradition but it's a central pillar of Christian faith that Jesus will come back to establish His kingdom of peace.
As shown above, there is linguistically and logically NO EVIDENCE for something like the Shroud in the gospels. It clearly contradicts the burial custom of (rich) Jews at that time and it didn‘t play any role from the beginning of the real church of Christ/God. No Shroud was and is needed to believe in the resurrection and overall in Jesus Christ:
      1 Corinthians 15
1Now, brothers [siblings], I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that He appeared to Cephasa and then to the Twelve. 6After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8And last of all He appeared to me also, as to one of untimely birth.
All you have to know about Jesus Christ and for faith is in the Scripture. Read and trust the Bible:
      John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
      John 3
16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
      John 8
31Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
      John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
      1Joh 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
      John 14:23
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
      2 Timothy 3:16+17
ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN [Old and New Testament] by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
      John 14:26 (gospels)
But the Helper [comforter, PARACLETOS], the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
      John 15:26+27 (acts)
“But when the Helper [comforter, PARACLETOS] comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
      John 16;13 (epistles and revelation)
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
      Hebrew 4:12
For the WORD OF GOD is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
      1 Thessalonians 5:21
Test all things; hold fast what is good.
      Be blessed - SHALOM!

@@wipo3654 Not much doubt as to your Shroud ignorance. 1. 'And Joseph bought a linen *shroud,* and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen *shroud* [Mark 15:46] 2. 'And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen *shroud'* [Matthew 27:59] 3. 'Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen *shroud'* [Luke 23:53] Each of the synoptic Gospels mention Joseph of Arimathea making use of a single linen cloth to wrap the body of Jesus for burial. The Word 'Sindon' (singular noun ) means 'A clean sheet' and the Word 'Othonion' (plural noun) means 'bandages'. Luke uses the same plural noun (Othonion), “funeral linens,” in his account of the Resurrection (Luke 24: 12) after earlier speaking of the singular burial cloth (Sindon) or *shroud* (Luke 23 :53) . This plural noun mentioned in (Luke 24: 12) is intended to include all the funeral elements such as : 1) A long *shroud( - It's used to wrap whole body 2)A face cloth or 'Soudarion' - It's not used to wrap whole head but to wipe the perspiration from one’s face. The Greek word 'Soudarion' was derived from a Latin word for “sweat.” 3)A few stripes of linen - They help to tie a shroud around a body The Fourth Gospel never mentions such a 'Sindon'. Instead, John writes of Joseph and Nicodemus “binding the body of Jesus in strips of linen” The verb 'Binding' ( δέω) is frequently found in the context of binding a prisoner with chains. (Mark 5.3; 6.17; Acts 12.6; 21.33) John uses the same verb in Revelation for the 'binding' of the dragon (Rev 20: 2)

STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Program 1978-1981) report confirms very good that the Shroud CANNOT BE the authentic burial cloth of Jesus:

So, there must be at least non biodegradable particles and stains like it is claimed for blood. But there was/is EMPHASISED NOTHING. Already that is enough to disprove the Shroud, comparing it with the biblical account.
      II. IMAGE
And the image itself is a contradiction. There is no shading of the bodys' sides and the top of the head? Also the contact-distance pattern of the backside doesn't correspond the forensic pattern of a dead body lying e.g. on a plate. Folds, overlappings and wavy areas are inevitable as shown in a Shroud wrapping simulation video to explain "scientifically" (why without spices?!) the blood stain pattern:
      III. FAZIT
Both, wrapping together with spices never would have resulted in such an undistorted 2D projection image. And other "scientific" discussions are irrelevant as long there is no BIBLICAL evidence that Jesus was wrapped in something like the Shroud.

Exodus 20:4 New International Bible: “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
People should not worship anything or anyone other than God.
People should not create images of anything to worship as "god".
People should not bow down to or serve idols.

It is clear that there has been a DIRECT CONTACT OF THE SHROUD WITH A BODY, which explains certain features such as scourge marks, as well as the blood."

No. The authorities were hunting for the Shroud, so John sugggests that the Shroud must be a cloth that has the smell of spices.
See: "THE SHROUD OF JESUS And the Sign that John Ingeniously Concealed," Lavoie, 2023
Luke 23:55-56. The women returned home and "prepared spices and ointiments."
Lk. 24:1-2 "On the first day of the week (Sunday). . . . they went to the tomb with the spices thay had prepared. . . .but on entering they could not find the body of the Lord Jesus."
According the Luke, the body of Jesus was not anointed with spices and ointments because it was not in the tomb when the women returned on Sunday morning.
BTW, the Shroud cannot be dated by radiocarbon because it has images that appear to have been formed by radiation.
Until one can demonstrate a natualistic mechanism for the formation of the images, one cannot dismiss the possibility of an associated neutron flux.
See: "The Carbon Dating of the Shroud is Explained by Neutron Absorption," Rucker, 2020.

jeffreyerwin3665s posts are pure fantasy, e.g.
Shroud - the sign of Jonah?
Jesus did miracles that only the promised Messiah could do. Instead of accepting Him, the Scribes and Pharesees accused Him of doing this in the name of Beelzebul (demon). This was blasphemy against the Spirit:
      Matthew 12
31Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Although the Scribes and Pharesees already saw all the miracles/signs, they asked for another one. Jesus knew that those religuous leaders will not except Him and that they will kill Him. So, He prophesised His physical death and His resurrection, picking up a story from the OldTestament:
      Matthew 12
39Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
It was not the first time that the religuous leadership scrutinised Jesus' divine authority. Already after "cleaning" the temple He prophesised His physical death and His resurrection, this time with a short parable:
      John 2
18So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?” 19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Both, the "the sign of Jonah" and "the sign of the temple" had the same meaning:
Jesus will be physically dead for 3 days.
Jesus will resurrect on the third day.
After His resurrection Jesus appeared women, disciples and more than 500 others. People believed in the authenticity of Christ and his resurrection based on those eyewitnesses and what some of them wrote down, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The result is called New Testament that doesn't mention something like the Shroud.

Ron Wyatt died a few years back. He’s been slandered for decades. He was a CRNA and archaeologist who made many different claims of discovery about Biblical events based on his trips to Israel and the ME.
That’s a great question Mo asked about the Y chromosome because Wyatt claimed to find some samples of the Blood of Jesus that lacked a Y chromosome.
If in fact blood on the Shroud or the Sudarium that lacked a Y chromosome of an earthly father - that would be big news.
And JJ is correct - there hasn’t been any chromosomal study of the blood on the Shroud, apparently.

From my understanding the dna has degraded too much for that information to be found .
The image is of a man in rigor mortis .
The body goes into this state very shortly after death
How long does rigor mortis last ?
      24-48 hours
How long was Jesus said to be in that tomb ?
Buried Friday evening and the tomb was found empty early Sunday morning .
      Hmmm interesting isn’t it .
And if it’s a medieval creation how did the forger know to create the image of a man in rigor mortis when rigor mortis wasn’t discovered by modern science until the 1800’s.
These are some of the hundreds of evidences ghat point towards this being the burial shroud of Christ .

His head was covered by a tiara of fine linin , Wreathed with blue incircling which was another crown of gold , Wherein were ,emblazoned the sacred letters to wit , EE AH OOH EH YAHWAH He literally came in his father hebrew name, "Out of Egypt I called my Hebrew Pharaoh Son Simon""Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his Hebrew name, and what is his Son's name if thou canst tell?" For then will I turn to my hebrew people a pure language, that they may all call upon me to serve with one consent, Therefore my people shall know my name, Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I YAHUAH who speak, It is I, And at that time YAHUSHA answered and said I thank thee O father master of heaven and earth , Because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed those things to little babes, and he said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the hebrew kingdom of heaven. As it is written in Isaiah YASHAYAHU the prophet, 'Behold, I send my messenger Gabriel ahead of you and will prepare your way the voice of one crying in the wilderness the baptist YAHUCHANAN prepare ye the way of YAHUAH make strait a highway in the desert for our ALAHYM, I come in my father name and ye received me not, If nother one comes in his Greek name Jesus thessalonians 2 him ye will receive after working of Semjaza Satan, He came in his father name and was rejected, Yet the false name of Jesus which the disciples never ever knew was received all over the world just like the Egyptian Hebrew Messiah Prophesied, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be delivered, That Hebrew name is YAHUSHA, And on that great judgment day when they will say unto ABBA ABBA Father YAHUAH did we not preach in your church and cast out demons in your Son Jesus name and He will turn to them and say unto them Depart from me and my little hebrew lamb book of life.

Darren - early in this Podcast you incorrectly identify Jeremiah as a long time Shroud authenticist. That’s Not True …
In fact that is Why his Shroud Testimony is so compelling. Jeremiah is a very recent convert.
He has stated this publicly on several prior podcasts - Alan Parr for example.
Jeremiah was influenced early on, like so many Protestant Clergy, to be Dismissive of the Shroud because it’s perceived by them to be a ‘Catholic Relic’

It's a fake that modern science still can not reproduce. Real blood and creatinine, ferritin, and bilirubin present on shroud. Wide Angle X-Ray Scattering dates it to 1st century A.D. The guy was pretty talented to create a photo negative image before photography was ever invented. The image was created by light. It's such a lazy comment you posted.
