If you were a down to earth person before you left for the diaspora you don't change. I was shocked when some people reacted that I eat pounded yam with my hands not fork and knife. If you were a fake person all along you will display a lot of foolishness when you visit back home.

Please, point of correction, "August Meeting" is NOT Igbo culture.
It was introduced in the church by Christian women to organize themselves.
That's why the Meeting is held and celebrated in the church and NOT in the "Village Square" or "Family Compounds" as tradition/culture demands.

Hello Flo, I have never seen anyone so happy for August meeting before. Normally most women wouldn't even want to attend. Either way you have made August meeting very interesting for me. I remember back then my mom would wear her Mary Sumner wrapper to the August meeting and various church functions. Glad you are having fun at the meeting. Thank you so much for sharing. I enjoyed watching.

Aww this brings good memories. August meeting in my village is always serious work.
One year, my mother and the women built a meeting hall, another year was borehole, another year they built a hospital in the village and WHO came to commission it.
She has just returned from the most recently concluded one for this year and I can't wait to hear all about it!

Praying to go 2023 by God’s grace . I have so much pain today but your joy brings me joy and laughter, thank you for giving us joy.

The money we abroad give to our parents are used in different types of contribution. it's necessary we cash them with plenty. it gives them joy when they are able to meet their needs, they deserve it. we are their social security, welfare and medicate etc. Parents should be honoured..
