- The initial laying of track on my shelf layout branch line was driven by over exuberance, and produced a cute but somewhat impractical layout.
Having looked at some critical design aspects by masters such as Cyril Freezer and Paul Lunn - I decided that relaying the track in entirety was the only way of producing something far more interesting and functional.
I would however recommend this rather than persevering with something less than satisfactory, and I've learned a great deal as a result! The moral being less haste and more planning!
There's now plenty of storage space in sidings, headshunts, a terminus runround, Goods Yard, Parcels bay and even space for an engine shed, through better planning. Please feel free to comment. All constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Finally, thanks for watching!
Hiya Keith! Great to c the railway back up n running again! The trackplan appears very useable indeed! Very nice 121, jealous, and a lovely range of locos being used! It was a very enjoyable watch, wel done :)
Matthew Snowden Thanks Matthew, very happy with the outcome. Although where the (currently all cream) Camping Coach is, is too handy as a headshunt - camping will have to find a new location! Although I was raised in the steam/transition era, I do recognise the contribution made by diesels, and regret that some like the 22 never made it to preservation. The period on film would likely be realistic with only the Ivatt 2MT remaining by then.
Happy u shud b :) so hav u repainted the camping coach urself? I love most eras so u throw wot evr stock in u like ;)
The 3 dislikes are all on 20th April and all from the USA. I guess the gate to the institution was left unlocked. Hopefully you're back under sedation now?
