Great video including some super tips - I remember that gas cylinder compound at Heaton Lodge from my spotting days down there in the early 80's - much changed now, as I've moved back to the area after 35 years away - the footbridge is still there albeit it now looks very isolated!

Yes the footbridge is there but closed to the public ..think its about to be demolished.
Thanks for the feedback on the video by the way. Cheers. Simon

If you add liquid soap to the wash it will stick much better and use brown as well as black. You can also use a wash to weather Locos. Awesome layout.

Great tips and thanks for sharing. How do you make your cable trunking?

In terms of useful techniques for extreme realism you've probably become my favourite channel recently. As I slowly progress on my own 8x4 metre layout I will look back at some of your programs to get the scenery, track and details right. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the tops Simon, I got to admit Iv never thought about using talcum powder for concrete surfaces texture, I will use in the future as my little cameo layout concrete surface Iv never really been happy with. 👍🏼

It works in all gauges but I think the white patches the talc sometimes leaves only adds to the effect
      Thanks for watching!

What if talcum powder is not available in your country what you recommend as a replacement?

I would try ash from a fire, a log burner etc this works too. Doesn’t matter what colour the ash is.
      Cheers. Simon
