Everyone has a preference in machines like they do in caliber of rifles. Moose hunters usually shoot the 300 win mag for moose or the 338 win mag. PowerModz understood but the can am factory clutching is less than adequate. And quiet different than Polaris clutching Polaris clutches there machines extremely well and respond well to clutch kits. if its with a stock primary, you are wasting your time. The stock primary is flawed just by design. The inside sheave only is driven by the crank and outside sheave just goes along on the ride. BIG flaw, you smoke belts like crazy and you get lots of slippage. And the other big thing is that you CAN NOT tune stock clutching to shift out rpm, That is where the engine makes the most power at. With a clutch kit you can not tune to shift out either. And if you can not do that, then your leaving hp on the line you will not see on the rear wheels. Primary needs to be a aftermarket primary before you go to a heavier stock secondary spring. This is done for the tuning of that aftermarket primary. Mostly for bigger tire machines that will see more mud then faster trail riding.
nothing wrong to improve it but stock air intake is high enough for most people lol, no reason to go beyond 2 feet deep. You are not supposed to try crossing a lake on an atv lol.
PowerModz By that i mean. How to deal with the heat coming from the exhaust. Because it heats up my plastics really bad, so much that some are starting to melt.
Miguel Alejandro hmf titan qc an hmf tuner, these bikes run way to lean from factory to meet emission standards and the exhast ia quite restrictive. Both those cause alot ot excess heat. Besides putting header wrap on all your pipes your only option would be exhast and a tune. Also the shitty factory clutch creates alot ot heat.
You can buy heat tape one side looks like aluminum foil the other side is obviously sticky and line the plastic in the spots that are heating up. Prob didn't explain anything to you very well but hope it helped.
A few episodes before this one powermodz actually showed the tape. Thunk it was in the video that he also showed or talked about wrapping his header pipes.

Direction "V" shaped tires in Automotive are designed so the "V" takes snow, ice and water from center and forces it outwards to sides so it can exit tire. I loaned my Polaris to a friend to build a trail it came back with bent radiator I could not figure out how he did it than i saw the trail he made he used spruce tree stumps with root attached as road base in muskeg every time u drive over it rolls stumps hes is a dumbass and the radiator has no holes. can am can only ride on trails that are mowed grass unless u bring lots of black pepper and jb weld
Mike Sidebottom Good to hear you are using it for some good. Haulin moose. Lol. I live in can am country. We don’t see a lot of others machines around here. We have tons of muskeg and mud. Some guys use their can ams like canoes. I like my can am I have not owned another atv. I have a feeling your friend is rough on machines and he got a lemon. Everyone has a preference in machines like they do in caliber of rifles. Moose hunters usually shoot the 300 win mag for moose or the 338 win mag. But then you get into the ultra mags which are just over kill. Depending on where you ride determines size of motor and brand. Saskatchewan Alberta 850-1000cc can am Manitoba 500-650 Honda polaris Kawasaki B.C. 500 cc Can am. You guessed it I’m Canadian. Lol. Is Alaska a Polaris state? Machine of choice up there? Like one you tuber says I’d rather be riding anything then nothing at all.
@@blaynemacpherson8519 I'm looking at new can am defender 6x6 . When i was a kid i loved BRP SKI-DOO than they started adverts showing light weight and i see sleds braking because there to lite than the next year they shave more lbs and just to ride in Alaska u have to add 20lbs of gusset plates or break in half and now when it hits -20f the gas stations are full for sleds on trailers that will not start BRP u have to heat the sled up to ride in winter ???. My friend is the slowest and ezest riding of the group his outlander just feeds every thing in to rad. For the 1 i loaned my machine 2 he is an ass 9 and could break anything. And up here we ride every thing the old honda cant be beat for long lasting but it beats u 2. for a cabin in the woods honda for long trail rides polaris thats me. OH and for over kill rifles there is no such thing in Alaska. I grew up with rem 700 .458wm and it is like a comfort blanket when a grizzly is talking some weird toughs trying 2 kill u for the moose u have just shot. But i do think ultramags are just gimmick and hydoshock the meat slower large slug work well and will not deflect on some twig. I like Canadians more than lower 48ers usa stuck up trash that come up here and make trails to no were for no real reason other than fuk shit up and leave bags of trash and shit every were. They shit in a bag than throw it any where and every were city-idiots shoot at me and scare moose away every year i have to put some ass9 in his place and they shit when some guy in camo and face paint pops out and yells thats not legal jackasss or stop shooting or i'll shot back jackass ive seen more fat city boys fall over running to there cars after shooting in my direction than i should. It seems people are getting stupider and even my old shooting range is now full of non backstop shooters getting recorded shooting rapid fire in there tactacool gear?? and sending bullets in the woods were kids ride there bikes (the back stop) is the trail head just dum people get shot all the time and i might be 1 some day with all the dum moving up here every year more dumb. I hope it is not this way in canada too. I might be a brp lover again soon i dont like there advets for all the plastic gimmickry and plastic doors for like more than 3000$ every acc they make is so over priced it is nuts and replacement parts are 2--3 times the price of a polaris parts but i do like there 6x6 polaris dropped the ball in work machines lately. So if brp can drop all the city boy acc like a removable makup box for glove box?? only city boys need makup and a sound system on they atv just dummmmmmmmmmmm . nice to talk to another skeg rider and can ams as canoe i would like to see this hope u and yours stay well sorry for rant and i cant write for sh#$
@@blaynemacpherson8519 I forgot to say polaris is good for hauling moose the 850 scares moose away. I just started hunting on late 80's 350 yamaha bigwheel better on gas and wont scare moose. it can haul moose my friend used 1 in th 90's before it was stolen and burnt that 850 with 28 mudder inlaws will pull I pulled my trailer with camp and moose a older 6x6 that broke with low hanging trailer with another moose on it and the polaris pulled all night on skeg it did melt some plastic near the exhaust but man she pulls
I had 2 sportsman’s with tons of trouble. So I tried can am and don’t have near the issues.
I had my CanAm ( Outlander 550 v twin for 3 years and the replaced the fuel pump 4 times and still didn't get it right. And they wouldn't give me another on to replace the Lemon they sold me. I ended up trading in for a Polaris, and I love it. Screw CanAm and there product they Don't stand behind.
Honestly I wouldn’t mess around with just a clutch kit on a XMR. I’d go with full QSC STM clutching
I try everything
What snorkals are those?
snorkel your atv - we sell them
Would you rather have a can am renegade x mr 1000
im liking this outlander - ill try the renegade next year of maybe a shorter outy
nothing wrong to improve it but stock air intake is high enough for most people lol, no reason to go beyond 2 feet deep. You are not supposed to try crossing a lake on an atv lol.
Any tips for dealing with exhaust heat on the xmr.
Miguel Alejandro tuner
PowerModz
By that i mean.
Has these issues been fixed on the 2020 models
Hope so got one in November
@@patrickkennar7187 yeah I just got my 2020 renegade xmr 1000r a month ago. I love it so far
Doesn't matter what brand you buy,the skeg is hard on shit.
Watch out with your gas cap. The rubber gasket broke and almost dropped in the tank.
I can tell how well you take care of your "bike" by how clean and organized your shop is....sorry, I can't blame canam for these issues...take care of your stuff and it will return the favor.
Jason L when you create the 32 hour day ill clean my shop. i guess i could clean and not edit vids....the issues with the bike are not limited to me...people who take better care of their bikes than me are having the same issue. feel free to stop in and help though:)
So cause the shop isn't spotless and that means canam can't be to blame for a poorly clutched machine, no front locker, out of phase drive shafts, terrible rear diffs, etc..... Wow
