Overall Secret Wars was probably the best event marvel has done in awhile. Even though I did actually like events like Axis, and Cataclysm Ultimates last stand this seems like Marvel had finally delivered an epic story these events should be.
In a sense i agree with that opinion. Although in my opinion his intentions when gaining the beyonders powers were not heroic nor was his actions after achieving god hood. He used molecule man and was sort of an egotistical asshole. Victor is exactly what marvel needed for a secret wars ruler he is a person who do anything to achieve godhood with out restraint or a moral code. p.s. poor pheonix force scott
100 % agree. If Doom did not do what he did, there would be nothing. It is easy to come later and improve on something another built. Doom created order and held back all the truely bad things behind the wall. He made the hard choices. Richards comes after.
Thanks for making these videos! I love that I can catch up with these comics since I don't got time to buy them myself and read it so it helps watching these videos.
Another humble request for World War Hulk!!!! LOVED that one. Thank you so much for doing these btw. I was big on comics 15 years ago, so much has changed!
I love how they made Doom a god ever since the Panther God who sees all the possibilities of the multiverse and declared doom was the only one who can create peace I felt he deserved the title
its funny how the fantastic four are like the main plot characters of the end of the marvel universe, but their live action movies suck ass XD. Your commentary was awesome
thank you now that I'm a father with kids I can no longer collect comics but I love the way you do it I love the videos thank you thank you thank you I'm 36 and I watch your videos thank you
What do I think? I think I have lived through Secret Wars 1, (the best one), 1986's New Universe and now Secret Wars 2. Personally, I believe Secret Wars 2 is a combination of these first two events. Another attempt by Marvel to free itself from it's ancient history so they create new contemporary heroes and more realistic stories that speak to the current generation and future generations.
they're really just setting up the whole MCU at this point. I mean, c'mon.. civil war 2 with Sam as cap? maybe that's Peter Parker in the iron suit. 🤷🏽♂️🤣 I literally pictured how this whole comic would be in film form. it's wild, I'd wait another 3 phases for some epic ass movie that would probably be like FOUR hours long that time around 😂 BUT who knows g 🤷🏽♂️
Well I find it funny that tchala can control the dead considering he was getting eaten piece by piece by zombie giant man in marvel zombies so that's weird he never used his control over the dead......i hate super perfect reed Richards, once again in marvel zombies reed Richards snaps and infects the other 3 members of the fantastic 4, doom protects his country from the zombie apocalypse with help from Ashley Adams(aod) and when doom is infected he doesn't try to eat ash he lets him go as a thank you for saving his people. So reed Richards is not the ultimate good guy
Well the 616 Reed is considered to be the one the only Reed Richard in the multiverse who didn't turn evil, go crazy, left his family or his team and never come back or forget the man he once was.
+joseph roszell Why do you bring up Marvel Zombies? That's a bizarre comparison. This is the first time T'Challa 'controls' the dead, how he does it is clearly situational and explained in the story. Namor helped, too. This Reed isn't super perfect nor the ultimate good guy. In Hickman's FF leading to Secret Wars, Reed was solitary and dedicated himself to his work at the expense of family. At least initially.
Honestly this event as a whole was such a miss opportunity to get rid a lot of bad but they didn't pull the trigger but that's just my opinion anyways good review and I hope you have a good day and take care
It's better if Marvel finally stops retconning and getting rid of the bad. That's the problem with the big 2. They erase their history and it later screws them up.
Two weeks after watching "Secret Wars (1984) - The Complete Story", I just made time for this video. EDIT- 9:30 A.M.: *finishes video 1 hour and 4 minutes later* I would've been done sooner but I was busy watching a new episode of Craig of the Creek.
I never read it but i can absolutely see a great path for avengers doomsday/secret wars to play out on screen, even with how different mcu is from the comics here. With this universal reboot on the horizon they really have the opportunity to go balls to the wall and show real, raw deaths for these characters as shown here
That ending was kind of lame. Isn't it just great how you can just manipulate reality to make all of your problems go away? Real fucking convenient ain't it?
GoodGuyDom11 Yes and No. Manipulation? Yes. Manipulation of the Universe? No. Manipulation of Reality? Oh hell yes to no end. They pretty much got a guy to say yes I suck as god and the multiverse was saved by a cheeseburger.
It was apparent that Marvel did not wish to wait to usher out its new titles until SW II was concluded. That series - a masterpiece in my eyes - deserved a few more books to more richly detail the story. They had some inexcusable plot holes that, with time, were going to be addressed but Marvel said, nah, wrap that shit up, HIckman, Esad, and Ive. Like.....Thanos is sent beyond the barrier wall.....we're like fuck yeah, this is gonna be awesome...but instead we see him in jail an issue later and never even get to witness him taking control of the Annihilus hordes. =(
What comic is it where wolverine is on a plane and captain America is there too and Spider-Man and it turns out nick fury has sent them all on the same mission?
something this big HAS been done before. check out the original Secret Wars from the 80's. Heroes and Villains from across the MU suddenly vanished one month without warning or explanation! We were all baffled!! I loved it! its where Spidey first meets the entity that becomes Venom! Would you believe he gets him from a costume vending machine!!! Secret Wars II also rocked! It's why Susan Storm changed her name from Invisible Girl to Invisible Woman via Malice! Nuff said!!!
+lukaea To stop the earths from colliding, they need to destroy the others earth. The heroes of the respective earths wont let the other worlds heroes to destroy their earths... so they fight.
Poor Cyclops... They really killed him off I guess Wolverine wasn't enough for them. We only got younger Cyclops around now. That was brutal getting a neck snap...
Very good telling of a very crazy storyline. Actually haven’t picked up a comic since the Disney SJWs usurped marvel, made Steve Rodgers a hydra sleeper agent to be replaced by Sam Wilson, made Thor unworthy to be....Thor, now Jane Foster, because cancer apparently make you worthy? Iron man now a teenage sociopath. It goes on and on and they are losing money because they can’t sell their comics. I keep getting emails from them to renew my marvel unlimited membership, not likely to happen. What I don’t understand is if comics lack in diversity so much why not create new diverse characters without trashing a persona and stealing the mantle. Sorry to go on about this, but I’ve been reading comics since I was nine and I’m almost sixty and it’s a sore subject for me. Hopefully someone will come to their senses and put things right before it’s to late.
Ok guys when I usually buy books I buy the best story and best characters. What do you guys prefer to buy? Infinity or Secret Wars? It seems like Infinity is great but I'm leaning on Secret Wars because of how much characters there are and people saying it's the best story yet. And the reason I'd chose Infinity is because Thanos is my favorite villain. Infinity or Secret Wars?
I really want to get into comics but I don't know where to start and is it even worth it to buy them since you can learn everything online or use an app
doom is actually a good guy, he seen the future and the heroes destroy it. like marvel zombies for example, the heroes went up against a virus they couldn't stop. they all became infected, Richards, spider man, cap, Iron man, hulk, Punisher, even Deadpool and Wolvrines healing factor couldn't help. doom is actually a good guy.
Maybe I'm wrong but does anyone else feel like Doom wasn't very evil in this story? Like, when he says "I did the best I could given the circumstances" and "I saved millions when Reed only saved himself" it really seems like he has a point
So that justifies creating a dictatorship where everybody is at his whims, killing when they disagree with him (Doctor Strange). Doom did good with saving lives but he should have left the world building to someone else.
thank you, thank you thank you Comic Island for granting us the comic fans with such cool fucking reviews mang I appreciate all the work and knowledge you shared with us thank you and continue doing what you do which is awesome
This was such an epic adventure. Marvel was still Marvel and immediately after this they started making all these weird changes and sales plummeted! They're starting to climb out of the basement now but it's been a slow crawl. Make mine MARVEL FOREVER!!!
awais ahmed I also think that Doom hates & is jealous of Reed because Reed is everything he isn't. Despite having wealth, power & his own kingdom Doom feels inferior to Reed.
Thanks for this, I've been waiting a complete story of this. But, can anyone please answer me. Does the old heroes are back or this is the new versions of them?
I never understood the argument that FF comics are gone because of film rights. It's because Fantastic Four comics haven't sold anything at all and X-Men have so many titles going for them that I just think the movie rights aren't the primiary reason.
but that is the real reason, because in 2018 they came back. reason they came back around that time was because the film rights was in the hands of disney.
40:45 How the hell did Ben Grimm get so huge all of a sudden, being as tall as Galactus? (very_confused_emoticon) This also contradicts him being able to fit in a moderate cell earlier on, where we saw he was just a bit taller than Thanos, as the two were talking. Did I miss something and Ben Grimm somehow gained the ability to alter his size in the latest comics or was he merely blown up by the writers for the occasion? (aka "creative variable size") Thank you for getting me up to speed by the way :)
Okay, so as I understand it, each universe has it's own infinity gauntlet. And one infinity gauntlet doesn't function the same way or to the same effect outside of it's specific universe. So, what good does a random infinity gauntlet from an undisclosed universe do in a place constructed of all the various timelines? Wouldn't this cause all kinds of what I guess would be described as "interference" with how the gauntlet functions? Because it seems like that part might have been completely overlooked in order to piece it in.
Wait a minute, I just thought about this. During the ending of the Death of Deadpool when another world collided with the earth he's on, could that be related to the collision with Earth 616 and The Ultimate universe?
So Im kind of confused what is the difference between 2015 and 1984 secret wars? they both have Doom as the leader/god right? is 2015 just some sort of remake with more explosions?
so this didn't explain how Black panther prevents the two universes from colliding or how the survivers of the end of everything had memoires of this event!!?
Meaning: We see imminent destruction, that will happen either way, but, as comics do, we created a savior to humanity. I sometimes wonder if the Bible is discarded comics
so doom pieced together one last world, created from a bunch of pieces of other dying worlds/realities in the marvel existence? How did he get that power?
Can someone help me understand this? So now there arent multiple universes? (616, ultimate, etc) now its just one? and it seems like most of the ultimate universe took over? and what happened to all the characters that also had their counterparts in the story, like Reed richards and the maker?
In Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers the Illuminati tried to stop Incursions; two Earths colliding with each other destroying both universes. Just before Secret Wars there were only two left (616 & Ultimate) until Doom seized power from the Beyonders and created Battleworld, an amalgamation. The Maker got killed by the Molecule Man.
this completely focused on doom, feels like things were left out for sake of the video?i havent read it but over all im guessing it got to the point just now ive gotta look into it more because im confused as hell with how the heroes get to their battle.
PS: watch this at 1.25 speed..thank me later!
