    I confess I was a little disappointed when this dropped. 'Germinans' took a while to grow on me but even now I think 'Brightness' has been her strongest to date.
    I find it hard to divine exactly what SAKI's direction of travel is with these tracks.

    the livestream was outstanding. Yunika on bass was fantastic. the whole show was awesome. This MV is cool AF, displaying both her 6 string red killer and the empress 7 string, both amp stacks, a piano, two gorgeous outfits. one kinda business formal rock star and one just full on royal empress. I love that she wore the white outfit from Germinans and the Red/White/Black outfit in this video during the live performance. she played her heart out, the stream was 2.5 hours of pure awesome. SAKI got emotional a few times and it's such an insight to the passion she has for performing all the music chosen for her first live solo. wow, jealous of those that made it there in person, so grateful to have been able to see it live via the magic of streaming. it was well worth every penny. she's clearly happy doing what she wants. Senri, Hanna and Yunika were all pure awesome in support of her. so good.

      Great to hear it was good (I am a big Senri fan, so I would have gotten it only for her let alone Saki and Hana as well). I apparently managed to get the Japanese stream (I had not clue there was an English different one until today), but I hadn't had the time to watch it live. Is there a specific aspect that is translated in it, or just the event page? I will just try and get the Japanese VOD to work tomorrow if there isn't anything translated on it and otherwise I will just give them double to get the English version as well. I tried to get the video to work after it was done, but it didn't work. Hopefully the VOD will work well tomorrow since it's the first time I have used this service.

      @@MaartenT was my first time using the service. I have no clue about an English or alternate version. I just purchased the ticket and clicked the PC link to watch it live. the archive is not up yet. I use Chrome web browser. I only did a little chatting here and there on the stream mostly had it full screen and we had a watch party going on and chatting during the show on the NEMOPHILA discord. we still have a bunch of us flagged as SAKI fans there and a SAKI channel as well as channels for the band and each member. we try to get together and chat during the live streams for those of us that choose to buy tickets when we can afford it. The stream quality was really good. (audio and video) hope you can get the stream archive to work for you. I think you will enjoy the show, especially since you are a SENRI fan, some good moments I think you'll really enjoy.

      @@michaelmunno Thanks! I have an other concert stream that releases tomorrow, but I am looking forward to this one way more. Hopefully everything will go smooth with the VOD. I am extremely happy that they decided to use a service that at least allows people from outside of Japan to use it. Some of them don't even allow to create an account unfortunately and the ones that do tend to get smaller artists and sets. That's not to say I don't enjoy watching those and Saki does perform on those as well (June 26th and 27th with her Rock Inst Night project for example although without VOD), but the ones with the bigger artists typically just don't seem to care about viewers from outside of the country.

      @@nobbynobbs207 Oh, I have absolutely no problem with that, I watch a LOT of streamed concerts (I am well over 100 over the last couple of years) and most of these have no English whatsoever. I was just curious because there seems to be a Japanese and an English link and me having a ticket for the Japanese one doesn't give me access on the English one. The links are 1404 and 1405 in the url. I honestly prefer her just concentrating on playing music instead of speaking English (even though I appreciate it). The Japanese parts help me practicing my Japanese anyway and I still need a lot or practice.

    This is a beautiful song with some amazing guitar work, but is it worth leaving Nemophila over? enh. I know there're other factors, like creative freedom and satisfaction to be had from a solo project, but I can't help but think she'll have regrets in a few years after the solo buzz wears off. She can always find a place in another band when that happens, I guess.

      It's like hearing a band with a singer and saying "there is only so much vocal wanking before it becomes repetitive" or a band in general lol, good luck enjoying literally any band at all then if you argument against them is "they are going to eventually be repetitive" lol

    If you watch Saki's social media, you will see her street performing. Those solos she is doing are covers from an eclectic collection of songs and styles. She's doing a lot of jazz solos. This song has a lot of jazz guitar in the solos. This gives additional elements to the metal. My opinion is that Saki wants to expand her styles. This song does that. And it is beautiful. Does this remind anyone of Satriani.
    The dress that she is wearing is very beautiful and the way it layers out when she spins in slow motion is a very cool look. She looks so gorgeous. Of course she plays even better.
    Germinans was Saki's first single and video. ruclips.net/video/oMLb71Gg3Ss/видео.htmlsi=X2WA0EkM9DzJV7Qf You will hear jazz in this solo and lead along with the metal.

      My speculation is that Nemophila wanted to just keep doing what they do best and Saki wanted to go off and do something entirely different which is what she is doing now. The rest of the ladies in Nemophila are having a blast playing their music and having fun. I have friends in Japan that have seen their shows the past month and they said the ladies are kicking ass still and all smiles and look to be having a blast. Saki mentioned back in January she wanted to do more things for herself. I truly think the musical direction difference was her. Nemophila is going with a new producer too but I don't read into that much because bands change producers all the time. I expect to see more like this from Saki even though I'm not as big a fan of this song and I expect to hear Nemophila to keep putting out heavy music with Mayu screaming her head off haha. But yes your speculation might be spot on. Love them both but Im down with more fun and less serious :)

      Probably just music direction, just like with Lovebites, we know that Lovebites does what Miyako wants in terms of musicallity, its just that with lovebites Midori also is more "neoclassical power prog" influenced so they dont headbutt and Miho was not like that, she left as the band turned to making more prog sounds in their recent albums.
      Saki probably wanted a more technicall stuff as she already had this "heavy" type of exp with Marrys Blood and Nemophila and Nemo began as a side project that grew way to much it seems.
      I mean... Its really hard to find out what type of music direction Saki wants because she does different music all the time.

      @@NerdChannelBrasil Yes Saki has done it all. I feel like she wanted to keep doing more new things and also have the freedom to make most the music the way she likes. I think the the rest of band will mix it up of course. Bringing in a new producer also to mix it up but they will still stay with that same sound overall. They know what got them to this point and they won't veer off it too much. Saki is Saki. Love her she is great but she always seem to me a bit of an introvert. She is going to do things her way in the end. She broke away from that in Nemophila to be a good band member but like she said in her New Years post she was ready to start doing more things for herself and honestly if you look over the past couple years the other 4 seemed more like a tighter group and Saki was more on the outside. Just an observation I saw and others have mentioned too. But both parties seem to have moved on and are a happy. That is what you do in life you don't dwell on the past too much you start a new. If some people or fans don't like it well that is their problem.

    How much better would this sound if the drums didnt sound like they were generated by a late 90s, early 2000s drum computer? Pretty sure the few bucks to hire a mediocre session drummer for an hour or two to play and record these very basic drums would have been worth it.

I know she wants to be free and do her own thing solos and other projects. Hell if that is what makes her happy then I am happy for her. But as far as the song goes meh its good but nothing I will hold on too. The last song Germinans was better IMO.

    • @jonasw3945
      @jonasw3945 3 месяца назад

      What do you mean by forgettable ? Is it just that the song isn't catchy with some mainstream pop chorus and with a standard verse-chorus verse-chorus-bridge stucture ? Because in that case I'm pretty sure that's the point
      As for Saki's direction, she isn't any big departure from her usual self, she's been making solo guitar music for years now and involved in many side projects which included Nemophila and she is continuing on what she started

    • @Reaper77-wn7ot
      @Reaper77-wn7ot 3 месяца назад +1

      @@jonasw3945It is forgettable to me. Because to me it sounds like the same stuff she always puts out just like most solo guitarist do. While those albums and songs have some amazing guitar playing in them they all start to blend and nothing stands out. I have been listening to solos artist for 35 years. While I enjoy most of them and their songs they never stick to my memory like a song structured around a whole band with a singer. It has nothing to do with pop or mainstream which I do not even listen too. Been a metal and hard rock fan most my life. So you can take that pop assumption and throw it out the Fing door and if people do prefer that type of structure to a song and not just a solo focus then that is their opinion. who gives a shit!! Also you do not need to tell me anything about Saki. I've been following her for many years since she first got started and have friends in Japan that keep me up to date on just about anything I want to know. I know what she has done in the past and 3 years ago I told people she would not stay with Nemophila forever. Because I know Saki past.I knew she rather be out on her own eventually. My question about direction has to do with is this how she is going to proceed? Just as a solo and playing projects? If she is happy with that then I'm happy for her. Will she eventually form a new band or join another? Can she do great as a solo? Sure to a point but she can do even better with a band and get even more exposure. She was great with Nemophila but Hazuki is great too and while they had some amazing solos and playing together it not easy to give them time to really shine in the songs without having song after song where they trade off. they are both too good for that honestly. I have a feeling you are a Saki superfan. You seem not to like my opinion that it is forgettable. It is not an insult to Saki that is just my opinion on this type of music. I have followed her like many artist and bands over the years and enjoy them very much but does not mean I have to like everything or crazy love every bit of music they put out.

Most of the songs in Nemophila are written by their producer Kensuke Akiyama (there are only about 10 tracks that were written by one of the members and an other 5 or so that were co-written by a member with Akiyama). She did write a lot in Mary's Blood from when she was with the band, probably most out of all of them, but the others wrote music as well. I am not convinced Mary's Blood will be back to be honest since the rest of the members are all doing solo stuff as well, but who knows. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it, I enjoy their music.

      She only wrote a handful with Nemophila. Most their music is written by their former producer with other members writing parts too. Mayu wrote a good chunk of the lyrics off the first album. Saki did write the lyrics to Now I Here off the second. Also I don't see Mary's Blood coming back. All the other members are doing their own stuff and even if they did it will only for nostalgia. Most bands do not keep the same producer album after album. They want a different fell or different input. you cannot keep on reproducing the same thing over and over. Also just because they change producers or go at it solo too does not mean they are going to go softer or totally change their sound. I have seen people comment and worry on this and all I can do is laugh. Im curious like I always am what their next album and songs will sound like just the same as I have always been curious even when they had saki and the same producer. I am especially curious because their producer wrote as much of the music as he did, not just because they changed a producer and not because I think it means everything is going to get bad or something like that. I actually already felt like Nemophila was drifting away from what I liked about them the most (their harsher early sound), so this actually makes me more curious about their next album than if they had stayed with Akiyama. I do understand why people get worried about something like this, a lot of people don't like change in something they love, but all of the members are talented enough to do whatever they want. I might stop buying their albums if it's really a direction I don't enjoy, just like with any other band, but I don't see that happening. Also, I hope Haraguchi-san gets more freedom to write more songs, I typically love what she writes. Anyway, I wish them all the best with the new direction, hopefully it does well.
