Yes, Ferraris are made in EU, where such a symbol and latch are required by law. This only applies to trunks that could possibly fit a person inside. In case you get locked in there to give you a hint on how to set yourself free.

For my 20th Anniversary last month I rented a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso with my wife and our two kids (12 and 16). We drove it from Miami to Key West and back. It’s very similar to the FF but better looking grill. It was “only” a V8 twin turbo but the sound was amazing and the performance was jaw dropping. It felt very much like the MP4-12C we had rented in Las Vegas a few years ago. Both have around 600 HP. Both very light. But this Ferrari was just so practical and the turning speed and precision is incredible. Wish I could buy one! Definitely recommend!
When You revieved a Mercedes 'shooting-brake' that was not a shooting-brake but a regular station wagon, You were astonished that it looks like a regular station wagon, which it is. I thought something similar. I did notice the mismatch, but I immediately thought "oh, cool! They favor cars over house and maybe they have all the money in the world, so it's fine". Conversely, I'm always puzzled when I drive through a high-end neighborhood and I see a $2m house with a Dodge Caravan and an older Camry in the garage. And no, I don't think the "help" parks their cars in the garage, so I excluded that possibility. Haha! :-)
It's California. In some places a pretty typical house, which would be worth 200~350k most other places, can easily cost $2 million and up, just because of how scarce housing is. Further, some places have a lot of zoning restrictions about accessory structures, such that the garage you have is the garage you're stuck with.
We got them both used. Keep in mind the median price for a home in San Diego is over 800K. Ours is a 50's track home, and it was a model when build so it has great views. Space is ALWAYS an issue, we use it efficiently (hence the floor to ceiling shelves and crap on every wall :) , the house suits us down to the ground and we make it work.

I have always LOVED the FF. I do not understand why its so under appreciated
It’s a loooong car. Also, for some reason, cars depreciate faster when the engine is ahead of the driver.
Because the cult of the shooting brake is small.

its not under appreciated, it just has a niche market and most people wont buy it and thats why values dropped. Thats a good thing for people who do want to own them lol buy it when the values bottom out

I think it’s hideous, ugliest Ferrari to date. Ferrari should stick to sports cars, and don’t get me started on that suv they plan on making 🤮
yep the design laguage of the FF/F12 era is really nicer and smoother than the gtc4/812 era IMHO.

The FF is very nice. Still remember talking to Ken Lingenfelter one time and asked him what his favorite car was in his massive collection and he said his FF. A couple years ago I was at a hotel in Chicago and an NHL player was staying there and he had a gorgeous dark green FF and he was traveling with his wife and two small kids. Still remember it starting up too in the morning, sounded so good.
Tommy Hilfiger had a dark green Ferrari too. I can't remember if it was the FF or a 456. It was up for sale on dupontregistry.com.
Dark green. Yes!!!

@RLOPO No.
I recently saw a video of a five year old FF. The owner felt seriously depressed. The car had rust, the ceiling came down, the backlight-parts had corrision, the door panels were loose, the check engine light was brighter than the sun. The car only had about 15.000 mls.

I'd imagine that the depiction of the open trunk on that plastic piece is to show that it's the manual latch release under that cover.
Yes, Ferraris are made in EU, where such a symbol and latch are required by law. This only applies to trunks that could possibly fit a person inside. In case you get locked in there to give you a hint on how to set yourself free.
Nice to see Doug actually mash the gas hard, most of the time he gives the car like 30% throttle and is like "wow the acceleration is amazing"
The diagram shown at 6:20 is there to show the panel to take off in order to access the emergency mechanical trunk release. This release can be used if the electronic release fails or when the battery is dead so you would still be able to access the trunk.
That's what I suspected it was for. I wouldn't be surprised if it glowed in the dark too, in case you got kidnapped and were locked in the back!

But this Ferrari was just so practical and the turning speed and precision is incredible. Wish I could buy one! Definitely recommend!

When Doug was talking about the guy whose car this is , and showed his garage, I thought.....” holy shit, the guy has almost 600 grand (new) worth of daily drivers, and he has them crammed in a packed to the rafters 2-car garage?? I guess I was expecting more, but I have to say, I like the families priorities. Must be to busy paying off speeding tickets to move up.
We both loved it on site and cant justify doing very much to it. It is small by modern standards, but we don't have kids and entertain outside to enjoy the view. Space is ALWAYS an issue, we use it efficiently (hence the floor to ceiling shelves and crap on every wall :) , the house suits us down to the ground and we make it work.
Or maybe they're going for the Billy Joel philosophy of economics.
