Honestly, you are an underrated tech youtuber. I love all your videos, as you show how much research and effort you put on your videos. Keep doing these👍🏾
There's a deal for an i5, 8GB ram surface pro with the keyboard included for 799. I think this is the best purchase out of all options. More power and greater value
A request: I'd like to see you follow-up on this video with a practical demo on using the Surface Go in some everyday configurations: (1: Show it being used in a living room situation, like at a dining table or on a love seat / couch. (2: Can the USB-C port be used to attach Macbook-12-style dongle/hubs for added functionality? (3: I'd also like to see how well a MicroSD card (or cards) would work in adding "built in" storage. Those cards could give this little machine up to half a terabyte, right? You could store a lot of drawings, Word / Excel files, etc. with that, right?
Currently own a Surface Go (4gb ram + 64gb storage, bought it a few days ago) and I currently have a 256gb micro SD card installed on it. If you head to system settings -> storage, you have the option to change where apps/files/photos/videos/movies/maps get saved. I've set all of these except for maps (didn't give me the option) to save onto the SD card. Haven't noticed any drop in performance when launching apps/games from this method. So far I'm enjoying this device.
Justin is the realest reviewer ever. I like that he says and emphasis that the Surface Go and iPad are “different experiences” because of the IOS and Windows 10
I wish he had went in more. They are different experiences, but they compete in the same market: budget devices for productivity and note taking. I am conflicted on which to get but I am leaning towards the GO right now.
Watching this on my Surface Go. I'm glad I didn't buy the iPad which is just a big iPhone. Surface Go can read Flash Drives/SSD/ HDD, can support desktop web pages, run desktop apps. I use it for note taking on One Note, emails, Word, Powerpoint, web browsing, media consumption, social media, etc.
Now that there are numerous computer-tablets hybrids, traditional tablets are OBSOLETE. This is why iPad sales revenue have dropped by 40% from 2013 to 2019...
thanks for letting me know about this information I just got me a used suface go in 2023 and running window 22 insider preview so far it work and has no issue only when connect to a monitor it flicker that all another than that it a great small PC that I can take it on the go as a student
This is the perfect device for a creative person. The use of one note is awesome for bringing together pen notes, audio and video. For myself I'll buy one of these for tattooing. Accessing emails and social media platforms, using the pen for stencils and apps for designs. This is an awesome device for the right person.
I love your videos! They are really carefully made, nicely scripted and all the b-rolls are on point! You go straight to the point and give honest review on the product. Keep doing these!
I purchased my Go a few days ago and am loving it. The mouse though isn't that comfortable being quite low within my palm. The track pad on the keyboard is sufficient and really nice to use. I am going to hook up my Go with a Microsoft Wireless dongle to a bigger screen and see what that is like.
I just need this to be my device on the go for my trading and charts and Netflix. im not carrying my 15 inch 6 core Alienware around to heavy. Im going for the 8gb model 128gb ssd
I think that the surface go is a little bit overrated. It's marketed as a 399$ machine, but actually most of the people would have to buy the keyboard, and most would also invest in the more expensive model. That is not a 399$ anymore, that's a 500$-700$ device, and there are a lot of better laptops in that price range. High quality video though, keep it up Justin!
Yes, there are lots of *much heavier & less portable* LAPTOPs in that price range. I am willing to pay for $600 for a highly portable and productive machine with supreme build quality. You should realize the fact that portability and build quality worth much $$$. Of course some people do not care these two things.
To your point, if you bought the 128GB version, the keyboard and pen, plus Microsoft's extended warranty, you're reaching the $1000 mark even before sales tax.
Hey man, where did you get that color Keyboard? My mom got me a Go for graduation Saturday and gave me the Burgundy keyboard (which is hideous lol) and I wanted to swap colors. That blue is perfect, but I can't find it.
Just gonna mention the same thing, the alcantara cover match the blue anywhere 2s that u like 👍. Might go with the same combo if i decide to get the Go.
thanks for the review , i start college this spring and i was really considering getting this over an actually laptop due to its multiple uses , nice videos thanks man
Hiya. Planning on getting the Surface Go in place of my old 2014 MacBook Air. Have heard of so-so performance (stuttering, janking and bad loading times) and battery life for everyday tasks but would u agree? Would like your opinion please. Thanks.
Glamrgrl104 S4 for RUclips and light games, Drawing is alright. For light games the android is better because it’s built more for them, whereas the Go has a sub par GPU. You could theoretically do browser games but they will be very slow, most of them anyways. Drawing on the Go is nice but it is outweighed by the other aspects, the S4 is not horrible enough to rule it out comparatively. The S4 also has a much better screen and the speakers I’ve heard anyways, sound better than the Go enough to mention it.
Im going to get the 4gb model as asecondary media device. I already have a laptop with 16gb rm thats my primary workstation. Just need something small and portable to watch my shows on the go from an external drive
How does this model compare to the sp6 with m3 processor? No one really talks about those. I'd love to know how the battery life actually compares between them
Is the 4GB ram ok and the 64 GB storage ? I like to draw or like watch Netflix and do my sch homework ? The 4GB in Singapore is $618 with the keyboard but $828 for the 8GB
First guy to ever mention the SD card reader. I'm planning to get it for productivity. Like writing, very light editing and multimedia, what do you think?
Good initial impressions, but I was surprised you didn't comment on the keyboard. Especially since you briefly compared it to the iPad Pro, which you showed with a keyboard.
Good evening. I have a problem with Surface go 2. It has worked well. My surface charger does't work. I do not know the reason. Then I charge it with Type-C cable. After that it works slowly again and again. It doesn't work properly. One day My surface turn off suddenly and it doesn't turn on. It is charging with New Charger . But it doesn't turn on . What I should do in order to turn it on? Please help me!
Office Mobile UWP apps are free but functionality is pretty basic. Office 365 costs money but you get a whole bunch of desktop apps including Access and 1 TB of OneDrive storage.
Very good non biased review of the Surface Go but for most people the iPad actually comes in cheaper for the price, plus the additional benefit of the Apple eco-system with iTunes, iCloud and all the free Apple productivity software that comes standard on the iPad. With Microsoft, you still have to pay for Microsoft Office 360 and other full featured software programs which can get quite expensive so while the price might sound enticing, the Surface Go is substantially more expensive than an iPad. I do see the Go being great for small medical practices and clinics however. There is one issue that you didn't touch on and that is upgradability. The Surface Go is designed for planned obsolescence due to the fact that Windows 10 is constantly a work in progress with a gamut of updates and patches of which RAM and storage capacity might be a problem down the road. I would seriously consider a 2 in 1 or a laptop as a better value for the price.
I actually JUST picked up one of these. Excited to give it a try. I'll be doing a bunch of Lightroom photo editing. So we'll see what it can stand up to.
Cheyenne Jerusa Aikman I would say get the 8gb ram, 128gb ssd Surface Go over the iPad. But if you want cheaper, I would get the iPad over the 4gb ram, 64gb storage Surface Go.

yo these are the best videos ever, I can tell you put in a lot of detail and dedication into it
you are confusing USB 3.0 with USB type A - because type C is only the shape, you could have USB 2.0 type C or as most of the type Cs are - 3.1
It seems the type-C here supports charge the device and display output (event without the Thunderbolt 3), so it's definitely better than any USB A.
@@alexanderv176 The port is USB 3.1, it can afford display output without too much lag, however, a USB 3.1 with type-A can also get the job done
