I'm surprized, the webcam on the go is great. Perfect for chatting with friends and even job interviews/business calls

Processor seems a bit weak, but other than that it seems like a pretty ideal "I do my power stuff on the desktop but need an on-the-go machine" type of thing.
Just picked up the $400 one and it's not bad. switched go windows 10 home right away
The standard version of the Surface Go converts to Windows 10 Home. If you want Pro, you have to pay for the upgrade from Home to Pro.
There is a business and education version of the Surface Go that has Windows 10 Pro from the factory, including - on the one I have - Bitlocker enabled in the factory.

+TechOut Indeed, Bitlocker is standard on any machine running Windows 10 Pro, Pro for Workstations or Enterprise. My point was that Bitlocker was enabled out of the box on the business Surface Go; the recovery key appeared in my Microsoft account automatically when I used my Microsoft account during the Surface Go's Out of the Box Experience without me taking any deliberate steps to save it there. I subsequently saved the recovery key to "Cloud Storage" (Azure Active Directory) as is normal practice here once I'd joined the device to Azure AD.
I did have the 2017 iPad and then returned it for the 10.5 iPad Pro, I only use it for RUclips,twitch and some web browsing but it’s a really solid product. It’s not cheap but with the use I get out of it I have no regrets buying it.

I’m thinking of maybe getting it. I got the iPad Pro shown in the video for Christmas, but I also love playing games like Minecraft and the sims 4 on my parents laptop. I’m tired of having to lug their huge 17.3 inch laptop upstairs to my room whenever I want to play a game for a little while.

Great video Austin! Please consider making a comparison between the surface go and the galaxy tab s4 (although they are 2 different platforms but i think they are competing in the same race)
I now have both iPad Pro 10.5 LTE and Surface Go 4GB, because I travel often for work I feel covered and not weighed down at the airport.

I usually don't worry about the built in speakers.
Normally I use a headphones, blutooth or 1/8th jack, so it's not much of an issue.
Very cool. I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting an iPad or surface pro for a while. I recently virtualized a lot of the stuff I was doing on my laptop, so it seems like this could be an option.
I'm just trying to find someone who actually reviews the $400 version. Every reviewer uses the $550 version.

Both of them are similar. Really the only difference is slower performance and storage.
Isnt is just additional 4GB ram and faster storage? No real performance advantage. Hopefully well will see a new surface go 2 running sunny cove this autumn.

Just ordered one of these for personal use! Can't wait to see how it performs. Own a MacBook Pro, however, it's nice to have something light to take on the road or in meetings.
Love the iPad, but just find i get stuck with it, either with Photoshop files, or simple things like wanting to save a print as a PDF. (whIch i know there are some apps, but you cannot print to PDF from the print dialogue box which is annoying.)
The Surface Go seems like it could be a perfect all rounder, low cost, perfect size for tablet use and able to do a bit of Photoshop etc if needed.
Been using it now for a few months... love it as a small laptop however the iPad still wins as a tablet!

Multitasking works great with no problems (I have the 8gb model)
It can do almost everything apart from video editing and heavy gaming but for everything else, even 4K playback is fine!
Honestly for the money I think it’s pretty great!

Editors Keys I agree, love the fact I have both now. Where iPad lacks I can grab the Surface Go. They both weigh so little together my backpack is not stopping my circulation.
These two devices shouldn’t be compared, as they are both 2 completely different devices.

I am using the base model and i am happy with it ...it is laggy sometimes but it is the best laptop to put in your backpack and carry it with u all day

If you're not looking for gaming speed and want to run a few window programs, this works great. I have the iPad Pro and got tired of taking out my laptop to run a few Windows programs than going back to my Ipad Pro for everything else. This really does cover just about everything I need on one device. Surface Go was on sale and included a keyboard. I added a 256GB MicroSD for less than 50.00. I like this better than the Surface Pro 6 which I felt was just a little too big and heavy.
What about for drawing and multi tasking is the surface go 8gb good for that?

I have a 2018 iPad with Apple pencil, I like the price point of the $400 model of surface go. I would like to see the stylus used on the surface go and how good the stylus is on the surface go for art or drawing ?

For casual use like browsing the web or watching videos, sure, it will do just fine. But for getting real shit done you rather as well just fork up more money for the higher end version.

Lumi i used to use desktop chrome on a touchscreen tablet. It worked fine.. and that thing only had an Intel atom x5.

This is great for casual usage! :) Simple for web browsing, watching RUclips videos, and you can connect it to a monitor.

The game doesnt run in a consistent 60fps even 30fps in a surface go, I also downloaded optifine but that didnt help. 60fps below for me is unplayable that is why I said it wont run because I thought that this person would prefer 60fps or more. That is why I recommend the bedrock edition plus that shit is free if you have the java edition.

As it currently stands, I could see myself using this for college to take notes and write papers, but that’s about it, and I already have an iPad and a laptop that can do that. If there was a good app selection in the Windows Store where I could use it as a tablet and a computer, that would be the selling point for me. Then, I would only have to carry around one device.

i own one a older surface but its built like a tank and was a joy to use. but the track pad makes it or breaks it. i used mine as a very portable laptop

Lunati q you can still get the 400 dollar version. And it is mostly marketed for students where you can get a campus discount.
Janno_O but most windows app is still not for touch, and you didn't get pen either, at least you still need mouse and keyboard to operate it.
I want to know if it's upgradable from Windows 10s to regular Windows 10. I'm looking for something my dad can use for his presentations via PowerPoint over external display, that's inexpensive and very portable.
I would love to see this thing get an i5 added. Even though Windows is not my favorite operating system, I love the device options and they've pulled me back. I've ditched my Macbook Pro and will be going with a Thinkpad for my main machine and maybe the Surface Go for my travel/out and about device.
