We stayed at the Barcelo Maya Caribe last month with our teens. The wife and I walked over to the adults only. Beautiful but a bit sterile compared to the other parts. Nevertheless I would like to go back there with just the two of us.
Hello rulinghabs, we also toured the other 5 hotels and it is true that the ambiance on the pools, the animation and the whole setup is more of party and fun on the other 5. The Adults Only is more of a relaxed style and dedicated to self care and rest, it did have some animation in the pool and the music shows at night, but it is a different style from the other Hotels in the complex. I do recommend it for couples as the set up and ambiance invites to romance and relax :)

Hello Mr Gerald, Sure, at the Adults Only Hotel there is no Club or Disco, only the lobby bar that you see on the video which is open with Music until 3 am everyday. But, in the Maya Mall of the Resort there is a Club/ Discotheque called 'Jaguar'. This is open everyday and the ambiance is really nice to party and have fun. We did not go so we did not recorded the place inside. Hope it helps!
Hello Sandy, Yes, they all were, we even had a bottle of wine delivered to the room (complimentary) for our anniversary and got the ice to keep it cool. Overall, anything we wanted the hotel staff was happy to provide, even fruits and juices while we worked in the room every morning.

Hi Darwin, June is a good month, you may see some seaweed on the ocean and some rain, but other than that should be awesome! The resort has so many activities that even on the rainy days we found many things to do and enjoy. Hope your trip will also be memorable!
Hello Darwin, we visited last month. Restrictions are not in place anymore, however there is still hand sanitizer points for complimentary use and distance between the tables and chairs. Face mask is no longer required either. Hope it could hepl :)
We are an older couple and prefer adults only. Is this an all inclusive resort? Also, is there a large buffet for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Since we are elderly, everything must be close. A bar to hang out at? When we were younger, and before the storms. We always went to "The Bahia Principe Tulum" It was perfect for us. A Beautiful resort. The beach was soft white sand. Loungers with tiki huts for shade and table for drinks. The water, clear, tiny fish around legs, large breakers, so you could swim. (Topless was nice) even as us 🇺🇸 (a bit more "cover-up everything") I actually felt free, being Topless! We normally went in December, January or February. Mostly, December. 80° weather. How far was this resort from the Cancun Airport? Bahia Principe Tulum was an hour, tip of Mexico 🇲🇽 How was the beach? Any Loungers, sand and Caribbean? Can you tell us, the difference, please?

We have another Video of the huge Buffet selection in this Hotel, we loved it, you can see all dishes there and also the ambiance which is very very nice. the Buffet opens from 7 am to 6 pm everyday, and for dinner only Thursday thru Sunday, the other days you will have the specialty restaurants which are also amazing on the same Hotel. The Bahia Bar in the Lobby opens everyday until 3 am, it is perfect to hang out, listen to Music and enjoy any time of the day, the views are spectacular there! This Resort is 1.5 hours away from Cancun Airport, the distance is not that far and we enjoyed the trip both ways. The Beach area is very nice, so many loungers and palm trees, feels like paradise... just the water inside is a little rocky, water shoes are suggested :) Let me know if you have any more questions, we had a great time and will go back again! Hello Dwayne, that is a great time to visit the Riviera Maya. Honestly the Hotel is so giant that even being full you may not even feel it. We were there when it was almost at full capacity and you can see on the video that it was most of the time empty. The only times we saw more people around us was at the lobby bar 1 night that they had a wedding, at the buffet (outside) around 2-3 pm, and at the pool at 4pm for zumba. Other than that, it was empty the whole time. Hope you have a great time for New Year's!

Hi Sandy, Not really, the latest you will find food here is 3 am in the Bahia Bar. The other dining places will close at 11 pm. However, room service is available 24 hours (yes! food is free, they just charge a little fee for taking it to your room) Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hello TravelmanMN, The Hotel is perfect if you are looking for relax, quiet ambiance and tranquility. It does have the night music to enjoy at the awesome lobby bat with cocktails and also all the activities on the other hotels of the Resort. But, if your idea is to meet people and socialize, the only adults may not be the place for this. It is mostly quiet and relaxing, and most of the guests are couples. Hope it helps!

Hello Musze, In our experience, any room category has the same quality food and drinks, there is no difference on that. Premium rooms are a little isolated on the corner building which is quieter and have no transit of other guests which are not in premium level. A plus is that it is closer to the beach, but when you go to the buffet and restaurants, lobby bar and pools, you will have to walk farther to get to them. Another plus is that premium has its own lobby bar, just in case you do not want to be with many other guests around, but other than that, the quality of the experience is 5* in any room category. Thanks for the video! We have made two reservations for our next November trip. This resort and our normal Riu Maya Palace in Playacar; will cancel one and keep the other. I love the design of this resort, but we stayed in one of their other resorts in Cozumel and the food choices and quality were not good. How was the food at this resort?
Hello Len, let me tell you, everything was 5* to be honest, even the food! The buffet had so many dishes that it is one of the best I have been to. We have some chefs in the family and all of them agreed that the food on the buffet and restaurants was excellent. We really enjoyed it :)

Hello, We took the hotel transport (bus) to go from one Hotel to another, and the same hotel bus back to ours. It arrives every 5 mins and it was very convenient, even when we found out on the last day that there is a path which connects all 6 hotels and the total walking time is around 20-25 mins.
Hello Jonathan, Sure, besides the Buffet they have the lobby bar with Sandwiches, Quick Snacks, Fruit, Drinks, Coffee etc. Also, since you have access to all 6 hotels you may go to any of the other 5 Hotels and try their Buffets and Grill Restaurants in the Pool and the Beach. The closest one is no more than 15 mins walking, or you can take the Resort Shuttle which is complementary.

But I know of many couples who have gone without and still were able to have dinner. We always did it just in case, it is very easy, just go to guest services in your hotel and they help you really quick.

In our case, since it was quiet it allowed us to work from there when needed. But if we were going with family kids, then it was better to stay at one of the other hotels which are not adults only.
No vayan a este hotel discriminan a los mexicanos por unos dolares, eso y mas situaciones me paso a mi en el Barcelo Palace en la riviera maya, nos decian que las mesas estaban reservadas en los restaurantes buffet que no son de reserva, y nos tenian esperando mesa a pesar de que habia muchas vacias y cuando nos daban una nos ponían hasta el final del restaurante alla donde nadie nos viera y asi en todas las areas, en los bares no nos atendian, les daban preferencia a los weritos, asi que nada recomendable y les digo si eres mexicano no vayas al BARCELO MAYA PALACE ni a ningun otro que trate asi a los mexicanos

It seems wrong to have adults only resorts without having kids around
