I declined my offer from Berkeley . I think you’ll have a shot! Berkeley has a high chance of getting off the waitlist and will probably be higher this year due to the pandemic
I got waitlisted to almost all of my schools that I want to go to and got accepted to all my bs safety schools and decision day is coming soon. What should I do? I really don't want to go to my safety schools. I already submitted all my letters of continued interest but my first essay that I submitted wasn't even that good compared to my final draft. Full of uncertainty right now for me and ny college admissions process :/ Also can you maybe breakdown my odds of getting accepted off of the waitlist from one university that I applied to? They stated that approx. 2500 students accepted the offer for waitlist and they took in about 1000. I just finished submitting my LOCI to them a few hours ago.
Please don't worry too much, you got this! To answer your questions, I wouldn't use the numbers that the college provides from previous years about waitlist-acceptances, because this year will be unique due to the pandemic. I think all waitlists are fair game, even for the top schools. So if you really want to go to those schools, then I would recommend applying for the waitlists. If you want more info on this, feel free to watch our most recent video about the waitlist process, or you can sign up for a one-on-one free 30-minute session with our team to discuss further (link in video description). Best of luck!
@@michaelmanjakunnel177 there's a website you can search how many students admitted from the waitlist. No one knows this year. But last year 4000 students of 12000 admitted from the waitlist.
I have a quick question-I was waitlisted by UCLA as an instate student for the college of letters and sciences, and was wondering if you think it would be easier or harder to get off the waitlist this year compared to last year? Last year’s admissions was also affected by covid, and UCLA’s admission rate for the waitlist was around 19%...This year is also affected by covid, but things seem to be more stable and people are going back to school in person in the fall. Wouldn’t this make the yield rate much more predictable than last year, therefore making the waitlist shorter and also harder to get in??
I can't really give you an exact estimate, but I think this year will be pretty similar to last year in terms of unpredictability with waitlists. As I said in the video, this year saw a huge jump in applications overall due to the pandemic, so colleges are not really sure how to predict yield. Either way, if you really want to attend UCLA, I think it is worth it to apply for the waitlist this year.
Beyond writing a letter of continued interest and submitting additional rec letters, is there anything else you'd recommend in order to improve my chances of getting off the waitlist? (Georgetown)
I was talking to an admission office the other day and she told me if a letter if recommendation if they ask for it. However, if they don’t ask for anything just make sure your grades look good, same thing for transfer students.
Hi I got waitlisted to a top-choice school of mine. However, I am still waiting for one more big decision to come out next week. Should I send in the letter of continued interest now or can I submit it later near the end of April. I have heard many mixed reviews on when to submit the LOCI, so I am a little confused :)
I'd recommend waiting until you hear from all your colleges before sending any letters of continued interest. This way, you can make the most informed decision about whether you want to apply for the waitlist. Feel free to watch our most recent video for more info, or sign up for a free 30-minute session with our team (link in video description)!
I got waitlisted from Boston College... do you know if there is anything else I could do specifically for this school other than to write a letter of continued interest? This had been my dream school...😭
Aw I'm sorry to hear that but good that you still have a shot! Beyond a letter of continued interest, there is unfortunately not much you can do. Just focus on making that letter as good as possible.
What if i get waitlisted and got offer in August but my classes will start from September and as an international student, i did not apply for visa yet. In that case what should i do?
Do regional admissions officers or adcom normally respond to the LOCI emails? I've sent mine 4 days ago to UChicago but no response so I'm not sure if they got it
It's a hit-or-miss on whether your admissions officer responds; they might not at all, or they might still be processing your letter. But as long as you sent to the right email, they should have received it, and you don't need to worry
When you say the waitlists will be long, do you mean that schools waitlisted more people than they would in a normal year? or that the waitlist process will be longer?

if you get off the waitlist at a certain college, will financial aid be affected?
