I use this for work so I need to be precise and to be precise quickly. Can’t afford to be overshooting what I need to select..Think I’ll go with the soft. Thanks guys! Great vid!
Hard surface mouse pad cons: You are scratching it all the time (hence the sound) its not so durable. You are scratching mouse skates too... You have to wipe it between rounds, because you are feeling every little dust, moisture. High maintenance.
I have something called "Saccular Acoustic Sensitivity" (brain causing body response when it hears certain sounds). The dry sound of baking powder scraping on wood causes extreme goosebumps and chills over my whole body. I got a strong reaction from hearing the hard mouse pad. This video was great because it shows I can never ever use a hard mouse pad. Hehe.
I've been using a hard mouse pad for 3 years and it really took a toll on the mouse feet on my deathadder after 2 years. Hard mouse pads are pretty nice regardless of that though
Same but some were pretty bad as the ball was skidding a damn lot since I sweat a lot, they were a plague anyway cause they needed constant cleaning on both the ball and the mousepad. Gladly I didn't use ball mouse for much long cause my father brought home the nice Microsoft white+red damn good looking optical mouse and damn what a huge difference and was cool back in the 90's the red glow going trough the red transparent plastic of that optical mouse when back then everywhere else I would go was just the same old looking ball mouse...
I tried playing Overwatch with a hard mousepad, with relatively high sensitivity, and it makes aiming harder than on a soft pad, due to the lack of feedback and the problem of making precise stops. For non-gaming purpose, I guess the hard pad is more comfortable due to requiring less effort, but for gaming I prefer a soft pad.
If you use high sensitivity, go soft pad to help control your aim etc. You wont need to move your mouse as much because of the high sensitivity. For low sensitivity players, hard should be better because you can get more of that easy mouse movement. Its really that simple in my mind. I like lower sensitivity, as its easier to aim for me, so a hard mouse pad is better for me so i can get that movement when moving around.
Yooo recently uploaded video about mouse pads SWEET! Foreal though good video. Covered/answered everything I wanted to know about the differences. I have a hard pad with a different hardness level on each of the sides(one side for more speed, one for more control) but after a little while its just gets really uncomfortable, then using office apps and/or general browsing its just not ideal. You solved my problem. Going to buy a XL soft mat to rest the hard mat on & going to use BOTH lol, then when I'm not gaming, can remove the hard pad. I didnt even think of cushioning the mat i already had, like I mentioned its a really good fix! Thanks guys, subscribed!
i personally prefer this snappy character of hard pads. it requires quite a sturdy hand to not overshoot, but after you get your muscle memory right, you will get precision, small to nothing resistance and ease of cleaning as a bonus+ hard pads doesnt wear out in a same way as cloth pads do. they become a bit "sticky" in microadjustments, but nothing near to a swamp cloth pads become after couple of years.
I have glorious model O glossy black, the glorious mousepad is good ? Or another mousepad ? For example hyperx fury S pro speed / MP510-XL , Logitech g440 etc ?
Only if u have problem with hand... and u feel u cant play 2 3 matches and ur hand is down ... only in that situation u take a hard mouse pad .... i know what i say because its happening to me.. i broke some muscle on right hand and to play on cloth its very hard for me now ... i feel my mouse block sometimes in cloth and cand move macro ... on hard mousepad i dont feel i have problem on hand any more ... the move is 3X time slow powered... i can play 5game now and i dont have problem with hand .... BUT IF U ARE NORMAL >>>> NO PROBLEM ON HAND , STAY WITH CLOTH ONE !
I use the desk so hard mouse pad will be good for me also because when i flick my mouse cant flick because of the different colors of the desk so it will be nice to have a single color pad
Haha, that's like my Brother-in-law his mouse works horrible on his reflective table, it tracks pretty bad yet he refuses to buy a mousepad. In fact I just bought a textile soft mousepad that sadly doesn't even fit on my table and he doesn't want to buy it from me, it's like 11€ with even crap RGB and brand new unused (received it today), yet he still prefers to just use the table. ps: But he doesn't play games and he also barely uses the mouse anyway as he mostly does 3D work so he uses mostly the pen digitizer...

so less control, more noisey, wears out ur mice feet faster and more uncomfortable to rest ur wrist on, all for just better glide. lets be real, cloth is just superior for basically 99% of gamers. the 1% are pro gamers that would require hard mousepads, but for everyone else soft/cloth is the way. bonus is u can get cloth/soft in the extended form so u can place ur keyboard on it.
I am currently using hyperx speed xl mousepad paired with xtrfy m4 and it can be hard to move the mouse at times, Might give a hard mouse pad design a try
you told everyone your opinion within the first 10 seconds. It's clear what you said you liked the hard. Don't telegraph like that if you want viewers to watch.
Maybe it's just you who didn't noticed the stop, fast forward or skip function of the videos? Use it when you don't wanna spend 5 minutes before buy this or that. :) Because 10 seconds maybe enough to praise something but not enough for telling the why.
Soft/cloth pads are disgusting after some time. I always go for hard pads, easier to clean and they feel smoother.
the hard mouse pad is like an cutting board

Thats interesting. If also been told the opposite because it needs less force to microadjust witch u do a lot on hight sens.
When I was a kid I waited for the each ball mouse to fail then get the metal bearing. It was so satisfying to get the metal ball out of it 😂
