True story: My grandmother carried a .25 into the highest security section of the Arkansas federal reserve, went through 4 metal detectors, looked over at my mother and whispered "I have a gun in my purse" 🤣🤣🤣. She set off every one of those detectors but because she looked so innocent, they let her through!! This was in the late 80's but is still hilarious. My mother was scared to death! 🤣🤣🤣

Who ever sets the level must be looking for bigger guns. I learned to love this little guy even more that day.
I had been taught to despise the 25 acp since I was a child but a friend of mine has one, the same one you have, and he had me try it. I was very impressed with it. Great trigger! After doing several mags worth slow fire, he asked me to do a mag dump. All the shots were on target. The thing is, the recoil is so mild, doing a mag dump into the target is quite easy. And I would say that the 25 acp had an advantage over 22 lr in that as a centerfire cartridge, you would have surer ignition.
The 25 ACP even has a small ballistic advantage. The reason most people have that wrong is just because of the velocities listed on the boxes. .25 ACP is tested out of tiny pocket guns & .22 LR is generally tested out of very long rifle barrels. When you get them in the same barrel length, the .25 ACP usually has a slight advantage.

I've heard every argument as the why .25 is no good and yet I've never been able to find anyone with that argument who will let me shoot them with it to prove as to why it's no good? Funny that.
Current production, the Model 21A Bobcat, is available in .22 LR and .25 ACP. They are SA/DA unlike the out of production slightly smaller SA only Model 950BS (.25 ACP, .22 Short). The SA/DA Tip Barrel is also available as the slightly larger Model 3032 Tomcat chambered for the .32 ACP. The tip barrels are a reasonable choice for occasions where concealability must be the priority. The .25 ACP gets the nod for reliability over the .22 LR. The .32 ACP is preferred for defense over the .22LR and .25 ACP. The .22 Short Model 950BS is for inexpensive practice. Removing the loaded magazine and racking the slide will not remove and eject a loaded round in the chamber. Do not rack the slide then assume that the chamber is empty when no cartridge is ejected. Loaded rounds frequently flip out of the chamber when the barrel snaps into the tilted position, but the round may stay in the chamber until removed by hand.
The 21a in my experience is as large or larger than most of the smallest 380’s. No extractor can make for some interesting situations. The main advantage of the 950 over the baby browning is a longer grip and higher capacity.
I STILL have some .25acp SUPER X ammo my Dad purchased back in 1960s!! . He bought it for his ORGTIES .25 .. which I also still have.. I haven't shot it because of nostalgia.. but I'm stocked up on a lot of 25 ammo up from over the years for my Beretta 950 b Jetfire
Just a not so quick story.. may help someone. My dad owned a produce house on the Dallas, Tx. market in 1978. He had just bought a new truck (F-150 Lariat). Normally he carried a .45 Colt 1911 but since he was going in for 2 hours on a Saturday morning he put a .22 revolver in his back pocket. Usually carried in his right back but that day it was in his left back pocket. A man came in asking for a job. Dad explained he wasn't hiring but the truck drivers would usually pay $40 to unload trucks. The guy walked back up to the front door, then rushed my dad pulling out snub nose .38 and firing a single shot. Dad seen him rushing out of his peripheral and leaned left to get his pistol (if he would have had the pistol in his right back pocket, he would have been hit). Dad fired one shot with the .22 short (the bullets looked like a pellet they were so small). He hit the guy in his left hip and he ran out a side door dad had open. Dallas police were at the red light noticed him bleeding and running and arrested him. He admitted he tried to rob my dad. Said even if he did not have cash he knew dad had the keys to his new truck. He was going to take him in the vault and kill dad. I was 6 years old and remember dad coming home and telling us. I went the next day to see a huge indent in dad's vault door, head level. This is of course where he missed dad. I found out later when dad went to court the guy was 17. He was on probation for assault and battery. The judge said since he was a kid he was giving him a lighter sentence. Dad interrupted saying he looked like a man when that .38 went off. The judge said if he spoke again he would hold my dad in contempt. .. I said this story may help someone because here is what I took away from it. #1 that little .22 short Rhom revolver saved dad's life. (something is better than nothing). #2) The keys you have may be what they are after! #3) if you think compliance with the bad guy will save your life... It will not. I told you what he told the police.
I have a hundred year old Suhl 25 acp. Fun to shoot but wouldn't bet my life on it. My Grandmother's friend took it off a German officer in WW1. It will always have a place in my arsenal.
I purchased a Beretta 950 BS Jetfire 25 back in the early 1990s carried it in a leather DeSantis trickster pocket holster daily.. fantastic gun. In 2003 I purchased a Kel-Tec p32 gen 3 and that became my pocket pistol still have the Beretta though... I later moved to a Taurus TCP 380 for my daily Pocket gun but I wouldn't hesitate on carrying this 25 for self-defense. Owner of Cold steel knives Lynn Thompson has a friend in South Africa who used a baby Browning 25 against armed attackers three times in emerged the victor. Don't tell me you're 25 can't save your life
The .22 long rifle version of the Beretta is called the Bobcat. The .32 ACP version of the Beretta is known as the Tomcat. Both are fun little handguns. The Bobcat is really ammo finicky. The Tomcat seems to eat any .32 ACP fed through it but that caliber is difficult to find and quite expensive.
There is neither a .22LR nor a .32ACP version ofthe 950BS. The 950-series was offered only in .25ACP (Jetfire) and .22Short (Minx.) The Beretta Bobcat is a different gun, offered in .22LR and .25ACP, and with a larger frame which accommodates a DA/SA mechanism. The Tomcat is yet even larger, and also in a DA/SA configuration. And, yes, my Bobcat in .22LR is not at all reliable (while my somewhat-similar Taurus PT22 is.)
I wouldn't frown on the reliability part.. different ammo functions differently in different guns.. I would try the FIOCCi .25 I believe it's loaded a little hotter..
I have a 950BS in 22short. More times than not it in my pocket. High velocity hollow points are devastating!! I’ve put a few things down with it and with that I’ve learned I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end!
I have an old lorcin L25. ot lives in my pocket, I know it will get off the first shot. but it's not reliable for a second or third, but it's still better than nothing. when I can I want something better, but still something small that I can keep in my pocket.
Some laugh some don't. I've known them to make good and bad guys very dead. More reliable than tiny rim fires. If using one for defense and certainly many do, it is best used for the so called ocular area and the spine and big arteries in the neck. The Beretta 950BS due to its pop up barrel and fairly decent sights compared to most .25 ACP pistols is probably the best one out there. Wonder if your jam was caused by slide impacting the web of your hand looked like that may have happened. Interesting video. My favorite .25 is the classic Colt 1908 VEST Pocket hammerless. Best used as a deep concealment backup to a more powerful handgun. The .32 ACP (7.65 Browning) is a MAGNUM compared to the .25 ACP. I TERM THE .25 AS DEADLY JEWELRY.
For me, the 380 ACP is the minimum caliber I own and carry for self-defense. However, for whatever reason all you can shoot is a 25 it is better than shooting nothing. Shot placement and ammo is critical if you use a 25. I have seen a video of Hornady Critical Defense 25 ACP going thru clothing penetrating 10 inches of gel and expanding.
I got one of these little guys and I’d about bet you had some older ammo cause these guns are made to work. Mine is about the same condition as yours and I e never had a malfunction. Keep it clean and run good ammo and u be good shape!
Got the same bing bang in 22lr, mine got to not wanting to feed also, was just a cleaning issue on mine. This little flip up barrel bing bangs are a good backup tool and more accurate then most people think. Different ammo and a cleaning this little thing be good as ever. Thanks again WHO TEE WHO for great boo lot slinging videos everyday. 💪🏽🎥💯👍🙏🏻
Those 950’s are not a bad way to go when you really have to minimize it down. I almost got a Tomcat (.32) years ago, but passed in favor of a J frame. Good video 👍
I have a tomcat I've had for 20 years or so that I Carry in my pocket as a backup. I have a colt 25 that was purchased in the early 70s. I like the mouse guns
I love 25's. I've owned lots of different makes in 25 over the years and still have 2 Baby Brownings. Tons of fun to shoot and once and a while I carry 1.
I've got a Beretta 21A in .25 ACP. I found some magazine extensions that slip onto the bottom of the magazines and serve as a rest for your little finger. Very handy.
I have a M-21A (.22 LR) and it's been 100% reliable -- when it's clean! With 50 - 100 rounds through it it starts to get balky. Plus in a pocket it can collect lint and crud (even in a pocket holster). Probably all your little pistol needs is a good cleaning.
Bought a brand new PPK/S back in the '90s for CC. I don't have what I'd call large hands, but first time at the range my hand did get cut a bit from the slide. I also bought a new little AMT .380 backup around the same time. No cuts at all. Still have both, but I plan to get a S&W Shield 9mm for CC in the future.
I've had two 25 caliber Ravens, one of which I shot apart, but it was accurate up to 20 yards. The second one owned, I babied but it was just as accurate, especially when used by people with smaller hands (I have big hands). I think theyre better than a sharp stick! I shot a 50 grain into a dry school book, and it penetration nearly the full 2 inches. That's bad news for a head, to directly into the chest as well.
The only 25 I was ever around was some little cheap one my kid had. You couldn't hit anything with it. Yours is a lot better. When you first grabbed it I thought "ooh that looks like a knuckle shaver". My brother in law has a High Standard Duramatic that he showed my dad years ago. Dad said "well there is a knuckle shaver" as brother in law's first shot shaved the top of his thumb clean.
Cool video. It would be wise to clean the firing pin canal and replace the spring and firing pin. Clean the gun throughly, and check for burs on the slide, etc. I have the Model 21A, and PSA had the parts. 👍
I just came into (inherited) a 25 cal Raven Arms (I know, did the research and it's supposedly a junk gun) nickel plated pistol. Haven't fired it yet but did take it apart and give it the best cleaning since it was new. I am anxious to see how it cycles and if its worthy. Just a novelty for me, definitely not a carry gun. More of a fun gun. But aren't they all? Thanks for the video even if it's a year later that I saw it.
I bought one of those decades ago. Kept it in my car (concealed) for many years. Gave it to my daughter, she keeps it in her purse and carries it in her pocket when goes to walk the dog. Not much, but a lot better than nothing.
I purchased my Beretta 950 BS Jetfire 25 ACP back in the mid 1990s.. carried it in a leather DeSantis trickster pocket holster right front pocket.. I have never had any malfunctions with it.. of course I shoot nothing but hardball FMJ but no jams or stoppages.. although I carry a Taurus TCP 380 or a Smith 342 air light TI 38 special centennial 11 oz unloaded in my right front pocket.. I would not feel under/out gunned carrying this little jet fire
Nothing wrong with a mouse gun. My papaw carried a little 32 auto and a snub 22LR. I got Dads little Cobra CA380. It holds 5+1. He gave like $150 for it new. After I polished the action and feed ramp and stretched the ejector spring it runs flawless. It's my pocket carry now. You should do a review on the Cobra pistols. They are saturday night special pistols but can be good.
I have baby Belgium 25 I've thought about selling, but I really like it. That lil pocket designed on jeans for a pocket watch... works great for back up
I own a Taurus TCP 380.. which I pocket carry regularly in a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster....MINE has been 100% reliable and accurate.. the first time I took it to the range new out of the box I put 400 rounds continuously through it.. Taurus TCP never hiccups once.. it was accurate out to 50 ft... Just with those lightweight micro 380s you must have a real strong grip on it! Recoil is pretty snappy with the micro 380..
Great video two thumbs up👍👍. I own a Beretta 950 BS. I forget when they stop making it. I think it was before 2000 but I don’t remember. Never had a problem with the original magazine. But getting extra magazines that wouldn’t have functioning problems a little more difficult. I love this pistol so much that I got the little 22 cal Beretta 21A. That pistol is finicky with ammo. It seems to only operate 100% with high velocity CCI Stinger ammo only. Generic high velocity, 22s typically would have one to two jams per magazine. I bought a Beretta 32 tomcat new🤮. Without firing it, I could tell it would be a jam-O-Matic. I had the gunsmith verify this, and gave me credit for something else. Sadly, I guess quality control was poor at the factory. The Beretta tomcat only thing he had to offer if it worked was the tip up barrel. It should’ve been called the 32 fat cat 🤢🤮🤮. A Glock 26 9 mm is about the same width but an inch longer barrel length. Regarding your 25 auto pistol figure out why it is having jamming issues. It’s either ammo or probably the magazine. Tactically I got mine just in case if compromised one-handed and or arthritis. I can still reload it, and fire one-handed with no problems with tested extra magazines you are still in the fight. 25 caliber is more reliable than a 22 rimfire. But when second count there’s no time to put your plugs in when the burglar is upon you. Your 25 caliber pillow gun will be there to protect you and your hearing will not be impaired as bad as if you used a larger caliber to do the same job. Note, the barrel will never get out of battery in a very close contact with the thug.
Make sure you use mec gar magazine made in Italy. I had different mag on mine and it would fail sometimes after I got the right mag no more failures. Ammo also makes a difference I use gold dot hollows for carry and for the range I shoot fiocchi or pmc
Hell yes I carry my Jetfire! Nobody I have met wants to be shot with that or anything! The internet has done poorly to the mighty 25 acp. Love your videos!
I've tried finding the taurus version of the beretta model but I here that the 22 and 25 auto aren't very reliable, but that is just hearsay. Great video as always WhoTeeWho
I agree a kel-tec p32 or a .32 Revolver or other auto. The .32,s were our grand parents choice for self defense. It is foolish they are ignored here in the USA these days.
Shot placement is far more impactful than the energy difference between .25 & .32. Youll never be in a situation where you wouldve lived if you were shooting .32 instead of .25
@@1nfamyX The vast majority of people can't shoot straight, thus, they rely on huge macho magnum rounds they think will make up for their lousy marksmanship.
The author R A Waters has two books about real self defense stories one of them has the old lady who used the 25 to shoot a bad guy five times in the gut he died but not after breaking her jaw knocking and eyeball out causing severe lacerations on her face so much so that when she went next door for help the neighbors did not recognize her
The only problem I have with them is I can't grab a hold of them I can barely grab a hold of the 380 that I do the same thing that you do pick it up put in my pocket time to time it's a Smith & Wesson 380 but those are not meant for long range shooting anyhow and they're meant to get somebody off of you because they're right on top of you so they are good firearm as soon as the 380 and it will do the job either one.
Had my 950 BS for about 20 years have never had either of those things happen, i think the first one may have been ammo, and the second could have been magazine. Try a different round with the other magazine. Love my Beretta!
I just found a Taurus PT-25 steel with wood grips for 199. Its in great shape and shoots great. No recoil feel.i couldnt say no and had to take it home with me. I use Fiocchi 50 gr. I ordered from Cabelas. I found 2 New Old Stock magazines for 22 bucks
Nice video, as always. I have a Baby Browning. Ammo is hard to find, and when you do, it's way too expensive 😫! Last March, I paid 40 peanuts for a box or 50 at RK. Been reloading ever since! 😆
I used to pooh-pooh the idea of carrying a .25 acp or .32 acp pocket pistol for personal self-defense. But the wise adage - the best pistol in the world is the one you have on your person when you need it - had me rethinking my bias. There's something to be said in support of a pocket mouse gun as a last-ditch, emergency self-defense firearm. You're not going to carry your Glock or Beretta or Sig Saur or Colt in your pocket because it's too darn large and heavy. The pocket guns are small, lighter and convenient but sacrifice stopping power and penetration. But how does that really matter in a short-distance even point blank emergency personal defense situation? Shot placement still counts for a lot and if you put the tiny bullet in a vital spot, it's going to count as much as a 9mm. Walking alone on some deserted, darkened street, only to be confronted by a growling, loose dog, or some stranger in a black hoodie blocking your path and carrying something shiny in his right hand means that pocket mouse gun is going to save your life. It's far, far, far better than having nothing in your hands when that dangerous emergency suddenly appears.
I am no expert by any means but I have said what you did for years. I can carry my Beretta 950 or Baby Browning everywhere anywhere no matter what I am wearing where the 1911 fans cant. No, I don’t have their stopping power but on the beach or at the gym my pocket pistol’s can be with me. 99% of all occasions I can carry them, 1911 not so much. We are not going to be fighting multiple attackers at long distance it’s going to be that one asshole at 25’ or less and for that the Beretta 950 works. At that distance even the worst shooter should be able to get four out of eight rounds on target in a panic mode
Here in Connecticut in December 2022 getting extremely hard to find 25 ACP ammo.. I was just at Bass pro the other day it was only one box of 32 ACP ammo $43!!!!!!!
The older I get, the more I appreciate the little guns for how fun they are.
Fun but ammo for them cost too much to just plink :(. 9mm is the new 22
Me too.

There is neither a .22LR nor a .32ACP version ofthe 950BS. The 950-series was offered only in .25ACP (Jetfire) and .22Short (Minx.)
The Beretta Bobcat is a different gun, offered in .22LR and .25ACP, and with a larger frame which accommodates a DA/SA mechanism. The Tomcat is yet even larger, and also in a DA/SA configuration.
And, yes, my Bobcat in .22LR is not at all reliable (while my somewhat-similar Taurus PT22 is.)
If that's a different ammo than you've normally been shooting then it may just be the ammo. It's a cool gun.
I have one that my father gave me and man is that thing LOUD!!!!! Great little guns for pocket carry.
Loud? I dont think its louder than a 9mm.
It's weird but a 25 has the same decibel level as a 223, 25 s are loud up close, but if ya move far away there just a crack
I had one of these back in the early 90's
I wouldn't frown on the reliability part.. different ammo functions differently in different guns.. I would try the FIOCCi .25 I believe it's loaded a little hotter..
I have a 950BS in 22short. More times than not it in my pocket. High velocity hollow points are devastating!! I’ve put a few things down with it and with that I’ve learned I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end!
I use a .25 caliber Beretta model 21A. I normally use Remington 50 grain FMJ ammo. It is an excellent point & shoot backup handgun.
Concur!
For me, the 380 ACP is the minimum caliber I own and carry for self-defense. However, for whatever reason all you can shoot is a 25 it is better than shooting nothing. Shot placement and ammo is critical if you use a 25. I have seen a video of Hornady Critical Defense 25 ACP going thru clothing penetrating 10 inches of gel and expanding.
.25 auto is not junk, any firearm is better than no firearm. Shot placement counts though.
A 25 was a pretty good round back when they had the Black Talon rounds.
Ranger sxt no black coating every thing else is about the same
I forgot Winchester
"Practice,with what you carry"
I still have the black talon rounds bwa ha ha ha ha
@@Oldspartan65 I have some to but only in 45 acp and 9mm
I got one of these little guys and I’d about bet you had some older ammo cause these guns are made to work. Mine is about the same condition as yours and I e never had a malfunction. Keep it clean and run good ammo and u be good shape!
I'm always impressed on how you can run that camera and hit targets at the same time and put together a great video!
Need to clean mine
Nice to see you're subscribers go up remember when you were at about 23k followers
Appreciate you watching 🙏. I am working hard at it. New video every day. Almost 2,000 videos
Great report and beautiful pistol! Congrats! Greetings from Buenos Aires.
First round some nice shooting with the 25acp brother keep it coming awesome work!
I've got a Beretta 21A in .25 ACP. I found some magazine extensions that slip onto the bottom of the magazines and serve as a rest for your little finger. Very handy.
My wife carries a bernardelli vest pocket 25. Super reliable.
Might be the Rem ammo.
I have that same gun for more than 25 years and I love it
I carried one in Vietnam when I would go to Saigon for protection. Sweet little pistol, I never had to use it but o sure liked having it on me
I have a M-21A (.22 LR) and it's been 100% reliable -- when it's clean! With 50 - 100 rounds through it it starts to get balky. Plus in a pocket it can collect lint and crud (even in a pocket holster). Probably all your little pistol needs is a good cleaning.
Good little pocket pistol. Thanks for the video.
Everybody completely ignores derringers, but they'll never malfunction, and they're the only pocket guns that can chamber large calibers.
Bought a brand new PPK/S back in the '90s for CC. I don't have what I'd call large hands, but first time at the range my hand did get cut a bit from the slide. I also bought a new little AMT .380 backup around the same time. No cuts at all. Still have both, but I plan to get a S&W Shield 9mm for CC in the future.
debur the edges and the pointy ends on your PPK slide. This will help.
You’re dang awesome with a pistoler Sir, you make me want to pull mine out and practice more, love your videos, Keepm coming. WTW!!!
Thanks for watching Jeff
I've had the 21a since 2004...Easy carry & quiet...Great not to attract attention...😁✌️
I always look for those 25 Auto Berretas but can't ever find one. If I find one for a decent price I'd definitely pick it up.
Bought one and had light strikes. Discovered the top of the hammer strut was broke off. Put in a new strut, works like a champ.
A buddy of mine has one that is a safe queen , I tried getting him to sell it to me LOl , thanks for the video
Definitely not my first choice! But definitely not a bad thing either.😎🦌
Might can fix a raven here. If still have it.
@@trvlace Hmm, I'll have to check. Fire control parts became the problem.
Fun fact, being shot twice with a .25 is the same as being hit with a .50!. It's simple common core math 🤗😂
😝😝😝
Cute
Yeah I love them my raven is good had it for a while easy to take apart
I bought my 25 in 1985 !
Been carrying it since
I purchased my Beretta 950 BS Jetfire 25 ACP back in the mid 1990s.. carried it in a leather DeSantis trickster pocket holster right front pocket..
Fiochi ammo works great with these. I think it's a little hotter than Remington and Winchester. The Tomcat and Model 21 are DA/SA.
That Beretta 950BS is no BS.
Mine has been on the do not carry list. I switched for 380 lcp
Love that beretta, like the 25acp, thanks
Make sure you use mec gar magazine made in Italy. I had different mag on mine and it would fail sometimes after I got the right mag no more failures. Ammo also makes a difference I use gold dot hollows for carry and for the range I shoot fiocchi or pmc
Hell yes I carry my Jetfire! Nobody I have met wants to be shot with that or anything! The internet has done poorly to the mighty 25 acp. Love your videos!
I’ve known it for about 50 years as a Bobcat, nice pistola
Thanks wtw, a neat looking little pocket pistol 👍👍
Thanks for watching Lance
Cool little gun, I’ve always wanted the Tomcat 32acp
I've tried finding the taurus version of the beretta model but I here that the 22 and 25 auto aren't very reliable, but that is just hearsay. Great video as always WhoTeeWho
I've owned a Taurus PT-25 for many years, I've had zero problems with it.
I have it in.22 it’s no joke all kidding aside
I have a Raven P25 and it’s not bad for a Saturday night special! 25 ammo is pretty hard to find though.
I have one of these. Very cool little gun.
Don't park it just yet. Change ammo. Don't care much for that particular. My SAR 9 did same thing with that flavor ammo.
Cool again. 😎
Sweet lil banger! Gonna get one in 32acp!
I think the 32 would be a slightly better option. That being said those little berettas are awsome!
The author R A Waters has two books about real self defense stories one of them has the old lady who used the 25 to shoot a bad guy five times in the gut he died but not after breaking her jaw knocking and eyeball out causing severe lacerations on her face so much so that when she went next door for help the neighbors did not recognize her
That one in 32acp. Way to go.
I like the .25 acp babby brownings and jet fires are cool.
Those little pistols are very cool. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching
Neat pistol.
Mine was in .22 Short. I got dealt out of it 😢
I just found a Taurus PT-25 steel with wood grips for 199. Its in great shape and shoots great. No recoil feel.i couldnt say no and had to take it home with me. I use Fiocchi 50 gr. I ordered from Cabelas. I found 2 New Old Stock magazines for 22 bucks
Awesome
I have had two of these beauties but folks wanted them much more than I! You may have a slight mag issue.
Love to have one
Nice video, as always. I have a Baby Browning. Ammo is hard to find, and when you do, it's way too expensive 😫! Last March, I paid 40 peanuts for a box or 50 at RK. Been reloading ever since! 😆
Thanks for watching Jeff
Same here reloading is the way to go with .25acp.
I love my 950bs sellier and bellot ammo has never failed me.
Cool stuff! 😀
Mine Taurus PT-25 shoots good with 50 grain FMJ but jams with 35 grain defensive loads
I would love one of those little pistol but ammo is hard to find and almost immposible in my area!
Used to love shooting grandpa's Baby Browning, fun little last resort pistol👍
If only we had a Video Documentary of "Man vs Wilderness and his trusty 25", or " Man vs parking lot shootout and his trusty 25". You make the call.
I've had the same problem, but it likes federal bullets, amazing
