    Another function of shouldn’t have ie to express gratitude.. brilliant 🤩
    You/we shouldn’t have talked to her like that ! ( this is reproaching or expressing regret , isn’t it? )

    I decided to do things that I should and things that shouldn't not to.what's on your mind? Shouldn't I express my gratitude to my family, friends and teachers?

      You don't need 'not to'. Shouldn't is should not. So...'I decided to do things that I should and things I shouldn't.' It is for you to decide if you should or shouldn't express your gratitude to your family and other people. If you have a strong feeling towards them, then use 'must'. I must express my gratitude.....Robert, uk (old English teacher).
