Cool video. I figured that Ty Lee may have Air Nomad heritage without being an Air Bender herself, but this theory is more detailed and nuanced than just that. Have a blessed day!
This is a nice theory, who knows if its true or not but its not bad at all. Also towards the end when you were talking abt Zuko and Ty Lee sharing a similar childhood it sounded a lot like how people percieve Bumi and Kya's childhood.
This is a really interesting video & theory. Avatar is very well done & has an extremely passionate fan base. I always interpreted chi blocking as being something based partially in what we would call magic I guess bc magic obviously exists in this world w bending. I think it is possible if not likely that Ty Lee had some ethnic air bender in her makeup- this mirrors what happens in the real world with in scenarios where ppl have to hide their ethnicities. It’s possible that heritage & the makeup of those genetic traits in Ty Lee help her to channel the energy or magic to chi bend
I mean chi block. The term witch isn’t used very often in the series (I think once) but it’s possible that recessive air bending traits being somewhat present help to channel magic or chi (or blocking of). The world building is subtle yet detailed in avatar & it’s never fully addressed whether bending traits are dominate or recessive.
Within the universe I think this is somewhat touched on w Aang & Katara’s children in TLOK. What happened w their oldest Bumi & others in that series could be indicative of what we see (although rarely) in the real world & call “co-dominance” think a guy w celtic heritage having dark hair, green eyes, & red facial hair.
Again because we are often shown not told things in the original series (a critique of the live action) it’s possible this is intentional by the creators or we are meant to assign meaning to it ourselves or they didn’t think of it or any other combination of things.
Good afternoon. Great theory video. lee and lot other characters are my favorite characters. I fan of ty lee and mai and azula . Everyone have great day and next day and week and weekend and next week and full happiness 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Great video, enjoyed the theory, subbed, maybe you can make a video one day about Korra, the hate it receives, and why it doesn't deserve to be so downed. 🙂
I think it'd be kinda funny if an ancestor of Ty lee showed up in the new avatar show (unless that's fake idk what to believe anymore) who was an airbender (since Korra happened) just for the writer's to show how Ty lee would have been with airbending like "Yeah no she's just great at this stuff, look how she is with actual airbending"

Honestly same. I never thought that she was an airbender, but a descendant of an air nomad.

Holy shit, great theory, probably wrong, but gets the ideas flowing.
Somebody should yoink this for fanfic.
this theory could apply to several other family secrets that are not necessarily an airbender child. Stil quite cool and entertaining to consider it
This is a really cool theory.
RUclips providing deep cuts tonight.
Keep more videos.

Anyways Ty Lee is an interesting character & it is true that chi blocking is established through her. Great video & very informative / well rounded.
