Everyone probably knows this already, but... If you crash your Horse it won't count as a "Dry Run" either. I couldn't figure out why I kept failing the challenge made the run between 14 - 15 minutes a few different routes, no water touched at all but I dumped my horse in the Cabage a once each run lol. @rob13589 Glad I helped someone... I thought the same thing. Do it in 15 minutes, no water but I'm notorious for dumping my horse. I "Need For Speed" it around every corner... rocks or logs get me everytime lol all the research I did and nothing was said about "Falling" being a challenge breaker. I made that run 10 times 🤨 ... as embarrassing as that is lol it's the truth... I am q Trophy Hunter, I have 79 Platinum Trophies, Red Dead 2 will be my 80th.
@@leione100 Yeah that is why you failed... take your time. I can make the run in 15.5 minutes if I take my time, I use the White Arabian Horse also. Good Luck!

Bless you child. Done this run like 10 times....completed the challenge when I used your route on the first playthrough.
HOT TIP: every 15 secs you can press the left stick to “calm” your horse and it’ll regain stamina... the higher your bond the higher the gain, at max level you gain about a 1/5 of your stamina back (which is more than you’ve used in 15secs(even mashing the button)) don’t buy potions, waste of money 👍🏻 thank me later 🙏🏻💝
I haven't beat this one just yet but noticed the last time I did this on a level 4 Arabian I threw on some Stamina Lotion and one Stim and never even dented the stamina all the way to Blackwater. My problem is gangs, wolves and mostly head-ons right after the dam.
jadelion11 the head ons were what made me furious... it’s like the NPCs see that you’re on the right or left side of the road and then they move right infront of you 😂

This is easy..
-Follow the train tracks all the way thru Saint Denis and back up thru Rhodes
-Cross Dakota River (on tracks) at Bard’s crossing
-Take a left off the tracks immediately after passing Riggs Station
-Go up thru Strawberry
-Circle around Owanjila Dam (ride straight past killers)
I made it with a over minute to spare

GUYS, IVE BEEN TRYING TO DO THOS FOR 3hours. MAKE SURE YOU GO OVER THE BRIDGE AT EMERALD RANCH. THE LITTLE DRY CREEK COUNTS AS WATER

Just thought I would add something here 4 years later lol. If you have the Rose/Grey Arabian you can stop at the stable prior to starting this journey and yield gold cores before starting. Then just encourage your horse (g key on PC) along the way and you don't need any stimulants. Just hammered this out with some time to spare. Took the train tracks through Saint Denis and continued on the tracks all the way through Rhodes, hit up Baard's Crossing (still tracks), hung a fast left at Riggs Station (off tracks) and hammer through Strawberry, then took the trail in between Owanjila Lake and Owanjila Dam and follow the course logically down the map until you are set to make a sprint for Blackwater. I recommend doing it during the daytime hours as I didn't encounter any enemies in the Tall Tree area. Your mileage might vary but hope that helps!
I used a level 4 White Arabian juiced with gold cores from the Van Horn Stables. No Stimulants needed,just constant reassurance(left stick) as you ride....FYI,you CAN feed your horse at a full run if needed.

Maybe this is the true way to do it since I notice doing it this way seems to not spawn a gang bushwack just before the dam. I've tried it about 4 times and I get shot at each time when I optimize my route and use mostly railway beds. After the dam there are so many people coming down the skinny trail that I've gotten into a head-on collision once as well. Anyway thanks for the tip and I'll try this. Can't hurt as this challenge has been dogging me for a while.
Follow the railway all the way thru st denis, turn left at Riggs and thru strawberry past the dam. Outran ambush and pressed left controller continuously as suggested here. Didn’t use one potion and had time to spare!
Thanks for the route. I finally did it. I actually did it once but I had accidentally jumped off my horse, so it didn't count.
I wasted so much time on this bs challenge. Mainly because I fell off my horse and it finally worked when I circled thru Van Horn *TWICE*

This trail takes you through the water at Kamassa River. Is this not a dry run?

I ran it in 11:16 didn't touch any water got the van horn sign to pop up still didn't finish the challenge, it's got to be somewhat broken
@Atrox 14 i know this is late but you have to start from van horn not finish at van horn.

I don’t think it’s broke it’s just the rules are lame, that dried creek in emerald ranch apparently counts as water and apparently you can’t fall off your horse
How can you mark your way like that? If I set the marker it forces a route through water...
If you look he only Mark's thr main way point just under strawberry so it will give you that route. Then you used the left analog stick click to put the secondary way point marks. I bet you have already done this since you asked 9mths ago. Would of thought you would of had an answer to your question by now so here it is better late than never. Peace bro

How is it that I beat the time on this video yet it still isn't telling me I beat the challenge?
There are paths that go through dewberry creek that have the smallest fucking puddles that ruin your run. Check the map to make sure your path has no water at all.

It is but it's ridiculously hard. Usually you get swarmed in the dumbest manner when you hit the WoA area or the Invisible Sniper (Seriously) will start tagging you. Also on top of things, there's always a huge group of bounty hunters at that pass for no reason aside from R* apparently not wanting you to do this as Arthur
It took me a couple of times, but I eventually got it despite some major frustration. I honestly can't figure out why they put a challenge in this game that's so situational? Yeah, I get it - It's suppose to be hard but this is kinda dumb really
Can you pause while going for this, or will it avoid the challenge?

@@atigulmascay8653 I can confirm you can pause while riding. You can't fall otherwise it will avoid the challenge.
