I had my money on "Fly Away" - Lenny Kravitz Edit: But seriously Cliff Burton "Anesthesia--Pulling Teeth." Bass is a guitar too and he plays it better than half the guitarists out there.
Gary Moore would have been an awesome choice for the list. So would Roy Buchanan, but I guess you're forgotten when you give up the guitar for barber college. Sad way to end life, but great guitar work.

One of my favourite Floyd songs and definitely has some of David's best playing. As for guitarists that inspired me, the first guys that inspired me to pick it up when I was a kid were George Harrison of The Beatles (in terms of "rhythmic" playing), Eddie Van Halen (in overall speed and just doing cool stuff in general) and David Gilmour (in terms of emotive playing and melodicism) but over the years I got into a lot more of my favourite players like Angus Young, SRV, Alex Lifeson, Chuck Berry, Pete Townshend, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Kirk Hammett
Nothing but respect for ur comment. Only have one question for u. No, Jimi Hendrix on ur list. The original guitar God that influenced pretty much everyone else in some way. Why isn't Prince on your list? He was a great solo guitar player that brought people to tears in the Purple Rain?
Not necessarily in order.
Angus Young, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Clark, Criss Oliva, Slash, Brian May, Tipton & Downing, Dave Murray, Neal Schon, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, Randy Rhoads

Hows Purple Rain not on here ?
"You can't talk about guitar solos without mentioning eruption" Proceeds to not mention eruption
Amen! I was like, hello - wtf?
His live version of 316 into Eruption into Cathedral and so on, cannot be topped whatsoever. Mojo has lost their “Mojo”
The title should be Most Known guitar solos cause most of these aren't even top 50 all time in terms of the greatest solos. Nor Eruption, no Vai, Petrucci, or Satriani. A Megadeth, Metallica, or Pantera solo even? Nope, you got a Rage Against the Machine solo..... WOT? 🤣🤣
Ikr
Exactly. What about the Guitar solos from Metallica's Enter Sandman, Alice in Chains "Man in the Box" or even Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit"?
@@therkokid215 none of those come close to Gilmour comfortably numb... plus free bird was also better than all of them one.
Maybe greatest novice solos of all time...
Oh look at me I’m so cool I can name a few metal bands look at me.
@@ryanfreebody6881 yeah its not all about these technic things. The while my guitar gently weeps solo is so great, because the guitar literally weeps
No Metallica? Kirk Hammett has to get credit for One, Master of Puppets, or Creeping Death.
As much as I love Stairway, Dazed and Confused is the better Zeppelin solo, and Free Bird should have been top 5
When you forget about Metallica’s “one”
Or Fade to Black
How Kirk Hammett goes off at the end it’s insane

Guns N Roses "Estranged" has equally amazing solos, but yeah, November Rain wins.
I love playing Estranged. I love the licks in it. But none of what Slash did was all that hard to play just cool!
Also Don't Cry, Nightrain and Coma... And another solos from Chinese Democracy which are not from Slash like Better or Street of Dreams
Ngl sweet child is my favorite solo
It's better than 11
Replace those two Brian May's boring mid solos with Tornado of Souls(Marty Friedman) and Achilles Last Stand(Jimmy Page)
Everybody saying “you left out so-so” but nobody’s realizing that there’s too many amazing guitar solos to fit in a top 20 list. Top 50 at least
But the fact that they miss out on solos that easily trump most of these is tragic
@@bagduster9381 yeah I agree with you there. Nothing by Radiohead or the white stripes should be on this list
Your profile pic looks like eddie van halen's guitar
@@russelrommel8293 Yep you got it. That’s what it is
yea and sweet child of mine DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN TOp 5
I had my money on "Fly Away" - Lenny Kravitz
Edit: But seriously Cliff Burton "Anesthesia--Pulling Teeth." Bass is a guitar too and he plays it better than half the guitarists out there.
Yep. Stairway. No doubt.
Dear Watchmojo,
Do you realize that you've made this video TWICE and left out Gary Moore in both of them? 😶
They didn't forget. The choice was made. Live with it.
Gary Moore would have been an awesome choice for the list. So would Roy Buchanan, but I guess you're forgotten when you give up the guitar for barber college. Sad way to end life, but great guitar work.
who cares? They didn't forget, they just decided not to include it. Besides not many people even know who Gary Moore is (I didn't). He's very niche, so they probably haven't even heard of him. DEAL WITH IT.
@@Saint_Magnapinna Thats ur problem if you don't know the legend who Gary Moore is, one of the best blues players out there that ever excisted.
@@platnimpunk643 Hard choices, but yes a choice was made. We're gonna need a bigger list!
As a guitarist who loves and has learned a number of these solos (Stairway, Comfortably Numb, November Rain, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sultans, Watchtower, Beat It, Hotel California, Crossroads) I was definitely happy to see this list, also massive props for including Dogs.
Granted, i respect that u looked up to and loved who u listed. All great guitarists and when u can feel what they r playing deep down inside u. Thats a special feeling that nothing can ever replace.
@@mass.1710 Don't get me wrong, Hendrix has been a huge influence on my playing and is still one of my absolute heroes, I just forgot to add him at the time. I just fixed it, but thanks for pointing that out
Andrew Pappas I’ll take Prince over Eric Clapton
Still serching for zz top sharp dress men and ACDC back in black
Still got the blues from Gary Moore should be on this list, my personal favorite guitar solo ever
So no “Maggot Brain” or “For the Love of God”????? There’s no way those aren’t at least honorable mentions. This list was not made by guitarists.
There is not a single Vai, Petrucci, Satriani so you know the person who made this doesn’t know a shit about guitars
What part of for the love of god would you call a solo?
@@umutonuralppolat9352 This list is so stupid honestly. Its not the best, just the most well known solos lmao. So many great players have been left out.
That’s a good point lmao of course the around 3 minute mark is where Steve really goes off but any section of that song or Maggot Brain deserves a spot on this list
I was literally just thinking why no maggot brain
I miss AC/DC in the list, maybe that you shook me all night long is iconic

How do you switch number 1 and number 2
Personally I’d replace Beat It with Eruption, definitely a better and more influential solo from Eddie.
@deliverant9375 no. Eruption is just a warmup with additional drums. beat it however is a solo.
When the honorable mentions are better than number 1
You didn't put Angus Young even in the honorable mentions. People tells that he knows only 3 chords but solos like Let there be Rock, Back in Black , Whole lotta Rosie, You shook me all night Long ... And Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode ... man if that not rocks i dont know what will
ACDC Let there be rock live Apollo theater 1978 best version. Probably the best Whole Lotta Rosie version as well.
Kirk hammett from Metallica is my favorite guitarist. I love him to death.
Slash's playing and solo in Michael Jackson's "Give in to me". As a 10-year-old boy who worshipped Michael Jackson at the time of this song, that's how I first knew about Slash!
"With Robert Plant's bluesy vocals and John Bonham 's thunderous bass drum"
