It because I wanted a metal body , type c charging, 16:10 aspect ration display and slim laptop... so the asus didn't meet my needs ...but again it depends on person to person .. hope this clarifies things 🙂
I would say the question is wrong it's like comparing apples and oranges For mac mini is not portable .. does not have a screen keyboard etc like a laptop But laptop's are I would say the only advantage is that you will get mac os , the m2 chip which is really powerful and other then that you are basically locked 🔒 Hope this helps 🙂

I was looking for a laptop with good battery life which can stand for atleast 5-7 hours. However, since mac mini is available now would that be a better investment compared to this laptop. Again i know it's mini pc vs portable laptop. I'm only looking for performance over portability here.

Infix my only concern is the charger which looks really horrible... so buy looking at just that I don't know how good the internal board will be if they cheaped out on the charger

Warranty is one thing I am not sure about.. I have already told the same in my q&a if you care about warranty I had not told to buy this laptop.. anyway regarding warranty it's better to ask amazon directly
