In the past 2 days I was at Monza circuit for a Ferrari Corse Clienti event and among the various F1s there was this 1995 Ferrari 412 T2, which is moved by a 3.0 liter V12 engine, screaming around the track. What to say... Enjoy!

Great memories. When I was 5 years old I heard one of these for the first time. For me nothing else can replace that sound.

Ha same thing happened to me at 5 or 6 also, except it scared the sh*t out of me. I think the bridge was covered on the sides and I didn't see them coming. Probably my first jump scare. Same for me. My granddad took me to a racing event in Denmark once, and they had tons of fast road cars. It was a bit damp, and we’d been looking at the 412 T2 in the pits. We were sure we wouldn’t get a chance to see or hear it, since it was damp and they only had slicks. The skies cleared a bit and after half an hour or so we could hear something completely different revving up in the pits at the other end of the track, and we were like “That’s gotta be the F1 car”. Sure enough, the thing went by quite slowly for a shakedown lap. Already, it was mesmerizing. Next lap was full send, and I remember us standing at the middle of the straight when it came screaming by. My god, the sensation! This was probably 10 years ago or something, but it is one of the cleares memories I have from my childhood! Never heard anything like it before or since. We were both just looking at each other in awe. Will never forget it!

The most beautiful sounding F1 cars ever built! I remember going to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Adelaide in 1990, 1991, 1994 and 1995. They had such a unique scream. You could hear them across the other side of the track. When they hit the main straight even ear plugs weren't enough to subdue the amazing sound. Hard to describe but this makes me quite emotional to see all over again. Great memories! Adelaide was the favourite race for most of the F1 drivers as it was the last race of the season and the city was really in party mode. The track was a street circuit located on the edge of the city centre. A tough circuit but still holds the world record for the highest race attendance - 105,000 people for the last race in 1995.

I was at Spa in 1995 for the F1 race, together with my brother. Our first F1 race ever and we were there without really knowing what to expect. We only went the Sunday and we found a place along Kemmel straight just before the morning warmup session was about to start. (This 30 minute session was dropped some years later.)
Coming to the track earlier it looked like no racing would take place for a while because of a thick fog. But shortly before the session was to start it pretty much all cleared up. You could hear them revving up the engines in the garage for minutes untl they finally took to the track. The first two F1 cars I ever saw or heard in real life were the two Ferrari's. On Kemmel Straight, at full throttle... that really is something you never forget for the rest of your life.
They always used to do an installation lap on the sunday morning. I think they used to change the engine or some other major component over night. The pause allowed us to get our breath back a bit. The rest of the day was spent in awe and amazement. This video took me all the way back to that day. Not only the Ferrari had a distinctive sound (and feel!). I remember the Ligier for example really made your belly wiggle with pleasure. And the Forti sounded... special, to say the least.
I have also visited races in the V10 and V8 era and am about to go to the hum mer parade un August. Somewhere F1 lost most of its character and soul. Or maybe I am just getting old. In any case, I loved this video so much that I wanted you to know that for the past 5 minutes and 25 seconds I was at Spa again in 1995.
    In short: subbed.

No you are not getting old! I am only 30 & I HATE this new f1 & especially DRS, Pirelli & most of all the engines!
I will never go back to watch a race live.
BUT I do remember & will never forget being the Casino Hairpin & hearing the cars from the other side of track & finally seeing them with my own eyes. II will never forget those moments. There is no emotion or excitement with todays engines. It's sad.

@@domeniconegro yeah not really, they understood that technology was useful to go faster but that happened a bit later. There were cars that were totally unchanged for years, the one reach was the top speed and acceleration, even in the 80s there was close to zero downforce.
It all started as racing, and racing only. Just like kids but with bigger toys. Then it became bigger and bigger and they understood that the tires did a lot of the work, aerodynaics was useful... if you see the available tech that was actually put in early F1 you'd be like "they're ignoring a bunch of things in order to build a better car which they actually know, even at those times".

Wow, this brings back memories. The greatest sounding cars of all time were the Ferrari F1 cars of this era. The first time I ever heard a Formula One car was when I went to 1993 Australian Grand Prix and hearing Gerhard Berger's Ferrari come past as I made my way to the stand to watch free practice. Totally shocked me how loud and how great it sounded. As good as this 95 spec engine sounds I do think the 3.5 litre engines sounded a little better. Listening to these engines at full roar or gearing down or the explosions you heard from the engines as they geared down into corners was truly something to behold.
