Always was my favourite F1 car. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this was the last V12 engine to race in F1. It did so in the hands of Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger. It ran high up the order in many races and managed to win the Canadian GP in the hands of Alesi.
    Good memories...:)

The 3 litre V-12 wasn't particularly high revving. I think the sound we've come to associate past F1 engines are the high revving 2.5L V-8's. I prefer those.

prolly cos of that uphill double corner that starts at 3:31, you can clearly see the oncoming downhill part that gets above actually in level, so any crash happens there you get oncoming flying debris head on...

Ye, I read one of the Corsa Clienti owners saying on reddit that on a f2003 reducing the rev range by 700rpm from 19000 rpm increases the driving distance between engine rebuilds from 400km to 1500km. So I'd imagine it's the same in this car. Here's the link: www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/3h4qhq/iama_racer_and_owner_of_several_f1_cars_including/?
Super interesting read, he's been driving all kinds of ferrari formula cars for decades just for fun!

No sense in blowing it up. It may be one of only a handful of those in existence and they may not be able to replace all the parts of that engine, or maybe not affordably.
Either way, it's most likely metaphorical insurance.

Yuri Teixeira Mendes Everything in it is probably original and they want to keep it that way. It probably has not been driven since its retirement. He's just taken it easy and he was told to not rev it too high at risk of the engine breaking from its old age.

    Saludos
