    Bruh, if you compare the banter that Yukari and Junpei have with the "banter" that Morgana and Ryuji have, it's SOOOOO obvious which one is the worse of the two.

      I think a part of what makes Yukari and Junpei banter good is that when Junpei snaps back, Yukari apologizes. And then Junpei also apologizes. Both know they’re just ribbing each other and that they won’t push it, and if either gets hurt they’re not happy. Yukari and Junpei are also happy for one another when they’re happy too. Neither seem super offended by it, even if Yukari does show signs of not wanting to be fully open with her interests cuz of inevitable Junpei wisecracks.
      Ryuji and Mona feel like they tried to do the same thing but neither knew each other as long as Yukari and Junpei do. And it’s just another failure of P5’s writing. Mona wasn’t upset with just Ryuji when he ran away, yet the narrative tries to pin all the blame on him. I will give props where it’s due in that Mona and Ryuji do take the insults sometimes, but more often than not they’re just defending themselves angrily and that’s not funny.

      Ryuji and Morgana lacks the heart to heart talk or just serious talk or even understanding each other about their personalities

    • @connorharnage6697
      @connorharnage6697 5 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah but the dynamic is different. Unlike the other Phantom Thieves who (despite what some people tell you) are friends, Mona intentionally tries to distance himself from the group, forcing himself to view them as tools. He's also wildly insecure unlike Junpei or Yukari who clearly have history and an established dynamic. So when Ryuji insults him, he's more aggressive and since Morgana refuses to be too friendly with anyone except Ann and to a lesser extent Joker, he doesn't pull any punches with his insults. Also take note that as Morgana develops in the story, he's a lot less aggressive. Yeah he still rags on Ryuji a ton but it's a lot closer to what Yukari and Junpei have

    It’s a hard pill to swallow coming from me because I am a huge fan of P5R. It is one of my favorite games because of some of the characters and the story. But after finishing Reload recently, I couldn’t find anything that this game did worse than Royal in
    From the characters to the themes to the story, they all just hit so much harder. I felt a deep connection with everyone in the party. It’s been like 3 days since I finished it and I still think about SEES constantly.
    Honestly they inspired me to be better and do more with my life. Definitely not the same person I was when I got the game on Feb. 2
    Oh also great video, dawg

    One of my favorite aspects of Shinji’s inclusion in p3r, idk about the other versions I haven’t played them, is just how short his time is with you. It enhanced the tragedy of his death knowing that I didn’t get to finish his side stuff fully, just like how we don’t get to perfectly resolve every relationship before someone is gone for good. It was truly beautiful and I think me not fully completing his story was perfect in its own way.

    • @BelBelle468
      @BelBelle468 5 месяцев назад +2

      If you do manage to finish it tho, the content still leaves things on a bittersweet note as well. The game knew exactly how to twist the knife and it keeps it going throughout the whole game.
      Also, them adding more to Shinji’s relationship to MC also pushes the senior trio and junior trio dynamics even further (Shinji = MC, Yukari = Mitsuru, Akihiko = Junpei). Seeing how little he regards his own life heightens the tragedy even more. It’s great

    I adore the P3 cast. They’re so relatable. I found them infinitely more relatable than anything P4-5 does. And Iove their character dynamics and growth. Even for parts where ppl say that the characters suck for having normal human feelings, I can’t really blame them cuz all of it makes sense. Especially if we talk about stuff like the answer or 10/4, etc.
    I think most haters just didn’t understand. Either poor media literacy or being too immature. And I think this way esp since so many have come out saying theyve changed their opinions after growing up more. Kids aren’t good with empathy unless they experience tragedy themselves at a young age (like Ken lol).
    Either way, I love the cast. I accept no bad faith criticism of them lol. It’s fine to not vibe with them or not be their friends irl, but the player and the MC aren’t the same thing.

    P3 and P2 both did an amazing job of fleshing out their characters in a very realistic way. It's amazing how they made it thematic while still very human and genuine for each character.
    The bonds in P3 is also very genuine. Not the "friends forever walks into the sunset holding hands" vibe, but more of a deep connection despite the differences and struggles.
    Also, anyone who says Yukari is a bad character lacks the ability to accept that people are imperfect and can be illogical and emotional.

    I think the P3 movies did a good job expanding these characters, especially Makoto. His arc in the movies is really beautiful, going from someone who's apathetic about life & then grow into someone who sacrifices his life to save his new friends is just... Wow...
    Speaking of which, i think they did the December bit better in the movies. It was already good in the games, but in the movies? The first 40 or so minutes of Movie 4 is the whole group dealing with the fact that they're gonna die soon & as far as they know, they can’t do anything about it... & Man, is it hard to watch... But i love it... & The My Testimony Scene is the cherry on top, it's peak fiction

    I played P3 FES about 2 years ago, and while I really enjoyed the early 2000s emo atmosphere, I may have overlooked some of the group dynamics for some reason, and currently stand with a different opinion, where the group dynamics felt the most natural in P4G to me. I was planning to give Portable a go at some point due to the FeMC route, but I may play Reload first instead... once the game is a little cheaper. Fuuka is still the best P3 waifu, though.

Only about half of them actually have any kind of valuable stuff to say in a conversation, one of which being a literal dog who’s barely even good enough to be an optional team member. Yeah I’m just gonna say it, Koromaru should have been an optional team member. Even the optional characters from Final Fantasy 6 had more influence on the story. Also, the game handles its exposition just horribly. The characters just suddenly start spouting about their backstory like they’re in a terribly written ASMR audio or something. @@topfranluis1 “not in the original P3”. I disagree. Unlike later entries, P3’s writing is a bit more subtle. Sure the new content expanded and made them so much better, but a lot of the beginnings of their amazing characterizations are in the original.
      I can only think of like 2 moments of massive exposition dump, but I can understand WHY they did it. Yukari waited a week to finally talk to the MC and wanted to get it all out right then. And Akihiko reminiscing with Shinji isn’t that bad either, so there’s a valid reason to open up. Koromaru is optional, you don’t have to put him in the party. I won’t argue the “valuable” things comment when you haven’t said anything to explain what that means.
      You complain about exposition and yet Compare this to P5’s awful dumps. the crew have a heart to heart talk after running away from the evil guy, before remembering they had to run when the demons they KNEW was still chasing them finally showed up. And don’t get me started on the Makoto arc. Let’s do constant harassment and abuse, and then 3 flashbacks right back to back about things that happened 2 minutes ago. FANTASTIC writing! /s
      P5R actually gave the cast more development with 3rd semester. But they all are kind of the same resolution with less build up, and worse moral arguments. And if you really wanted to talk about vanilla content of P3 and not reload, let’s look only at P5. Akechi was badly handled. Haru was badly handled. After their individual arcs, the cast remain pretty static. Ppl don’t get special moments outside their own arcs unless it’s made into a bad joke (Ryuji getting beat up anyone?). The cast don’t feel like “friends” as much as P3’s. They only have moments with the MC. They barely have good development, except for the thrown together content added in Royal for the ending.
      Their flaws aren’t overcome in a way that’s super interesting. After their arcs where they fight back, the recovery from trauma is pretty mediocre. And none of it has an effect on the main story since they’re SLs. And if we wanted to explore their individual flaws, they can’t even write that properly. Mona was upset with everyone when he left, but they made it all Ryuji’s fault, for some reason. P5’s cast was good, but it could’ve been way better.

      Hey man, nothing wrong with wanting P5 to have better writing on par with Yakuza 8 or Persona 3. If we did, we could’ve gotten more Haru and some more competent writing :(
      It’s ok to like P5 tho. But I do find it funny that I’ve seen so many P5 fans playing 3 for the first time and then going “ok I guess P3 beats P5 now”. After seeing so many obsessive P5 fans, watching the ranks thin a bit feels good.
