Yes! Visual clutter is huge. Every time someone walks into my house, they always mention how clean it is. Less clutter makes your house appear clean AND it’s easier to keep clean
So great!! Minimalism has been the absolute best treatment for someone with ADD and struggles with executive function. It is a slow progress. I’m 59 years old, three grown children and three grands and a large home. That’s a lot of STUFF!!! I've been a minimalist since I was a teenager in the 80's. I've raised my son this way. I carried him on my back until he was age 3 and rode everywhere on my bike with him sitting behind me in a kiddy seat. I used cloth nappies, wee wipes, made all our clothes etc. There was nobody doing any of this when he was born(2008) now I see it is trendy. I used to be a bush walker in my 20's so I learned to live on what I could only carry on my back (15kg). I lived overseas by myself age 20-24. The only furniture I owned was a bed, a wardrobe, a couch, a bookstand and a 14 inch television sitting on top of it. My home today has no decorations in it. I regularly do a purge once a year, as my husband likes to collect things whereas I get rid of them!
I enjoyed your video and I agree with everything except for pets. Pets are not objects. They are living creature. You can't put them in a list of products you don't buy. Additionally, they may have some expenses, which are not a lot, but they well worth every penny spent. As you love your children so much, do them a favour and bring them a four-legged companion. They will become better kids, they will learn so much from them and you'll change their whole childhood for the better.

As a young adult that is struggling with prioritizing and trying to be more financially disciplined, this was really helpful to put things in perspective. Thank you 🤍
I’ve been living minimally for the last few years and clicked to find out how I could improve. I’m currently struggling with imbalanced hormones and really appreciate you for sharing your thoughts. Felt like I was listening to an older sister who was giving me life hacks. I don’t have kids, but appreciate your insight and wisdom. Subscribed! 🤍
To balance hormones, boil 1.5 Tbsp each of cumin, coriander, n fennel seeds into 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil n leave on stove for bit n shut off. I do double batch, let cool n then strain n keep in fridge covered. I drink like a tea, heated up. It's kinda gross but get used to it. Look up Ayurveda medicine, is how I found natural way to balance hormones.
I agree, except for pets! My depression could never! For my cats we get pine litter from tractor supply $6 a bag vs $17 at the pet store! I usually get three for the price of one and it lasts forever. We consider them family and buy a bit pricier food, however it lasts one month and 7 day for a little under $40.
Quality over Quantity! Less of More and More of Less is my motto. I’m right there with you on most things especially on investing on good quality organic foods but my coffee is an absolute must !😂
Just came across your channel! Loved it! This granny is a Newby at minimalizing and oh the dollars I could have saved. Still downsizing slowly and loving it. After 56 years I feel like I can breathe. I'm so glad for those who learn to minimize at a young age. You'll look back years down the road and be thankful. I'm just thankful for getting rid of so much stuff I thought I had to have. Very healing❤

Margaret, I just love you! Don’t for one second worry about what we think of you. You are such an inspiration to me with so much intentional living, and it’s helped me to adopt many healthier habits in mine and my family’s life. Thank you for being genuine and real with us. Wish I could sit down with you in person and have hot tea and a good conversation 😊
Just listened to this again. I love to see people my kids ages being intentional. You are rocking it. I wish I'd known/understood when in my 20s/30s what I do now. Thank you for taking the time to share. ❤️
I think you resonate with a lot of people because you promote habits and practices that can work for everyone , and not your lifestyle, per se. I watch you for your soothing and practical content. Your videos are beautifully shot and edited. Always a thumbs up from me. Thank you. ❤
Ikr! I love her personality! A lot minimalist channels/youtubers have lost their appeal to me because I find them to be too polished and trying to induce inspiration, but Margaret seems really natural and real, and that's refreshing :) subscribed ~
I didn't realize we bought so many things in life. I hope I can have a similar life style one day. (Still in college so minimalism isn't usually on purpose lol). Very helpful video ❤
My favorite part of this video is how Christ just radiates from you. Seriously. I can tell you take time to prioritize Him in your life and it shows in the way you love and prioritize your family and their health. I agree with your list of 50 - even learned a few new ones from you. Liked and subscribed. God bless ✝️
I’m with you on 14 of these whole heartedly. The balance is either I don’t have kids or I’m still transitioning to both buy the others. Great video! It confirms the things I am doing right and thing to make a goal.
I am similar with you on the nails 🤩 The natural color of nails are so pretty. Idk why so many people are so obsessed with designing their nails to the point they are wasting a lot of money. I also don't like long nails. Besides of the fear of ripping them off. I have scratched my face many times with my untrimmed nails. Not even long nails but untrimmed nails. I still feel the scratch texture on my skin when I touch it. I really love the first one tbh because I can totally relate with you on the nail part. Same with number two lol So many women waste too much money on makeup. I am fine without wearing makeup. If I would wear makeup, I would only have the basic and would not waste money on it.
Nice list! I invested in some reusable paper towels made locally in my Amish community. I have 2 sizes. They wash up beautiful, come in cute patterns and are super absorbent. I do keep a roll or two of real paper towels on hand for things that absolutely require it (i.e. absorbing grease from bacon, things like that), but honestly, I love these things and I love not spending the $$ every month.
I was enjoying the video so much, but the 45. Pets....... Not having one just for the sake of saving money long term... I don't find it a good reason at all. If you were extremely poor and could not care for one, ok. I could understand. If you were allergic, ok. If you have a trauma or fear, ok. Never saving a pet from the streets or from being put down on a shelter because you don't want to spend the money on them... I mean... People have the urge to have children, to reproduce, create families out of love and raise their kids to be better than they are. But love is also doing acts of service and saving an animal is an experience that no amount money can pay. The companionship and love from a pet is something different. Every type of love is different, really. Feeding one pet is not that expensive at all. It's time consuming, sure, but so is having a baby and usually dogs and cats live short lives. Besides, having the kids grow in an environment where there are pets is so much more healthy and educational. They learn responsibilities and friendship, unlearn fears, gain immunity... What I mean is: there is plenty of stuff to save money on. LOVE is not one of them. Once you have a pet you'll find out that spending money with it is like spending money with your husband/wife, children, parents or yourself because they become part of the family and are worth spending money when needed. I speak from a place where I've saved 6 cats from the streets and even when they get sick I don't mind spending saving for them because the relieve of knowing they are better is so worth it (you cannot expect that a child or adult will never need medical care, so the same rule applies for pets, even tho the cares can be a bit more expensive depending on where you live). Even when they get older and die, I will never not have a pet again because of the money I know I spent on the other ones. Money has to serve for something, not only for saving. If it's not to help and aid people and animals that need it, I don't know what has more worth than that...
If you want 100% toxin free makeup/skin care you will LOVE crunchi. Very pricey but SOO worth the investment. Has ingredients that are good for you skin and work too!
Your list is similar to mine. I dont own make up or any beauty products maybe I should by myself a skin cream but I am not a fan of anything that needs to do one your skin or hair.
Hi! Great video and I just have to comment…do not color your hair! I finally grew out my hair during Covid work from home time and I wish I had stopped years ago! The chemical exposure and money wasted is ridiculous. Most people are positive and I have had strangers compliment my gray hair. Just rock those gray strands!!
Goodwill has beautiful platters, for very fair prices, you could find just what you need, for much, much less. Thank you for this video, wonderful content!
You should stop using water bottles with straws, invisible germs grow in the straws. And a carrot is a carrot and an apple is an apple just wash them before you eat them. I'm retired now and my children are grown I don't buy expensive furniture but over the last few years I've been saving and replacing the old furniture - and I now have a cat, who I love and wouldn't be without. And I buy books, which I read and donate and go out for the occasional coffee. Seasons of life mean we need different things in our lives, but I don't buy any of the things you've mentioned. And this, I've bought my first cordless vacuum cleaner recently and while doing research I found that lots of households had a different vac for every room in the house - why??? IDK 😆
I am 80, living in Queretaro since 2021. I remember A&P, but Walmart shut down all the Mom and Pop stores. I would tell people to read Sam Walton life. Leave the USA, stop killing each other, and open your online business. I have shopped on line for decades for groceries etc. to be delivered to my home, and I love it. I was raised by adopted great grandparents, when my married parents were not responsible, and GG died at 106, and she trained me very well on paying. my rent, bills etc, and health issues. Sabrotones is a wheat based skins, that tasted just like pork skins, which I do not eat pork. I am 6 months stocked up on groceries and cash when the shtf. I have a daily limit on my bank account, and my saving is locked. I can just the limits, and my bank will not pay out of my area purchases. They hold purchases payouts for 4 days, so I let my rent come out 3 days early as a nice tenant to nice landlords in Queretaro. My rent includes everything and a maid.
I didn’t even realize your hair was grey, it just looked like a gorgeous ashy brown! I was literally thinking “hmm I should show my hairstylist this” 😂
The gray hair one HIT ME. I’ve been debating if I should get my hair professionally dyed, but you convinced me to keep going with the natural grays for now 🥲💛
Love the list! Starting to think you’re pregnant 😅 glad to agree with most of your items! And glad to have learned some ways around purchasing others. I started my minimal journey a year ago it’s been rough but worth it!
Hi Margaret! I would love to see a wardrobe tour. I love your style and am also a petite person, so I would love to hear where you buy your clothes/brands. Thanks for posting this video
I was over the top with everything few years ago. And then I started practising minimalism and in few years this is what I did. I moved in a 200sq feet apartment. I use only furniture that I need. No decor except few pictures on the wall. I have few purses and I use mainly backpack. No more plastic bags. I use one brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Wood toothbrush. I commit to wear 2 brands of clothing, one for underwear, one for the rest, no fast fashion. 2 snickears, plus one for the gym, 1 winter shoes and 1 for summer. I have separate bins for plastic, glass, paper and general trash and it's all recycling(in my country we have to separate trash). I sell my books and kept only my favourite ones. I stock up with fresh food once a week and I eat everything, no waste. Here we can return plastic bottles and cans and receive small amount of money so I recycle those too. Everything I own can be put in 3 suitcases. I find this lifestyle more enjoyable, less stressful, I still have nice clothes, I still eat in the restaurants, I travel often and now I even have more money for such things. I don't have kids so I can afford this lifestyle and it's not for everyone just to make clear.
I use beautiful paper plates when people come over my family don’t care about the plates they only care about the food an games we play. Is about the quality time that we spend together not the plates.I just love my friends and family they are so down to earth we seat on the floor and have a good clean time love it
I would love to see your minimal phone! Also would love to see a video on your skincare and makeup routines, as well as your bread and marshmallow recipes (any cooking videos are great!) we’ve been making it a goal to eat at home every night except for once a week, so coming up with constant healthy yet delicious recipes and ideas gets a little tough. Love your videos so much!
This is a good video, I want to use this say something, I will forever be indebted to you Gardner 😇you’ve changed my whole life I’ll continue to preach about your name for the world to hear you’ve saved me from a huge financial debt with just little investment in money market, thanks so much Mrs Rose Gardner
I got introduced to Ms, Gardner during the pandemic year, I cried about challenges I was facing here in Ireland, during my time working with her, I was able generate returns on my investment.
As a first time investor, I was skeptical so I tried out with just 1000 bucks, to my surprise in just a week I got 3 times my initial deposit, truth be told she's the most reliable!
sorry but I'm new to the trading market, some say local market I don't understand, I need help generate side allowance, how do I reach out to her, is she still active?
Hey Margaret, great video! Do you think you can do a video of your favorite simple & easy workouts you do at home? I’m trying to save on getting a gym membership 🤣
Visual clutter ............ OMG yes!!!!!!!!!! I love decorating for Christmas. Love it!!!! BUUUUUUT when we finally started taking it down (just this past week. Seasonal depression, working full time, 2 small kids, etc) it was literally a breath of fresh air. The house almost feels "empty" but in a good way. I literally look around and it almost feels like we're moving out, especially with the storage boxes not in the attic yet lol! My husband said "Do you want me to bring down the Spring boxes while I'm in the attic?" I said "NOOOOO!!!!! Not yet." I want to enjoy the newfound reset, and decide what I REALLY want to keep and display.
Great video! I would like to see your minimal phone and apps if you don’t mind. Cool idea! Very helpful to hear your thoughts and whys on those items. I like how you help people think outside the box. 🙋🏻♀️👏🏻😄
You don’t need to feel bad about what others will think of you!! Whatever you do or say there will be people that love it and people that don’t like it! So stand up for what you belive in! You are brilliant just the way you are ❤️
Young lady, don't concern yourself with what others think about you. If you purposefully share your personal best ideas or thoughts, then you have done well. Do you as best as God has given you to do.🌹🌹
Nice video. Probably not very related to it, but when people say I made something from scratch, and it's just cooking I find it weird. I see this with people from the USA
Girl your nightstand and bed back board are SUPER cute! Do you happen to know or remember where you got them by chance? Anyways, thank you for taking time to create such beautiful videos for us! I know these videos take time! Like a lot of time. So please know I appreciate you spending your time to do this! Love the videos
This is my first time seeing any of your videos, and it was great! I'm trying to become more minimalist minded and get rid of the clutter. I've come a long way, but I have a long way to go. With an upcoming 2,000 mile move, I'm hoping to use this oportunity to really purge a lot of old habbits and junk...and most importantly, mental clutter from all the physical clutter. I will probably still paint my nails from time to time, but much of your list really got some wheels turning! I only had one child, and I fully agree that most things and most toys just aren't worth the hassel, expense, and clutter. Thank you for your suggestions and your no-judgement, honest approach to sharing what has positively impacted your life.🤩
That you got this helpful video, as always. I would really like to see your minimal phone, purse/wallet scenario and calendar/planner set up. Struggling in those three areas. Thank you 😊
Glad I found out that I have never purchased 45 out of 50 of the things you mentioned... i need to say that most is normal life habits where I live (in Italy) ... I have two cats though 😅
So I hear in European countries. I love that! I was born and raised in the US and my simple living journey is pretty much “unlearning” everything that I thought was normal to have/need/want. I love hearing about how others live in different countries. It inspires me Most!
I never done my nails, and I buy make up, only an eyes pencil, like each ten years. About books, you dont need to spend money, go the library. There a lot of thinks in the list I didnt know that existed, like sleep medication, extra pillows. I never used a big part of the list, so I really feel a minimalistic now.
In the words of Chris Rock (hey, don't take it seriously, I'm only messing - great video) - Americans want credit for things they're SUPPOSED to do! Here where I live, us poor/working-class folk do almost all these things (and we care for sick and stray animals) because it's how we live, because we don't really have a choice! Must be nice to be able to choose! :)
I love your videos. But to be honest a large part of the reason I love them is just seeing the difference between American way of life and Aussie. Like what on earth are even drier sheets? But everything being washable and no baby proofing, I hear you! Kids omg why is everything always sticky?....
5:20 actually, if you value your health, you should stop animal products altogether, "good quality" meat or dairy is still as carcinogenic and cholesterol laced as poor quality one...
Yes! Visual clutter is huge. Every time someone walks into my house, they always mention how clean it is. Less clutter makes your house appear clean AND it’s easier to keep clean
I can second that. My friend always asks why it is so clean at ours. We just don’t have a lot of stuff! Easy! Less stuff, less to tidy.
You sound like an NPC

Wow, that really touched my heart. I love that. I have family who needed the same for their mental health. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. ❤
Well said. 👍👍👍
Omg Margaret im so glad i found you! You are so legit real, raw and honest i love your personality
Ah, these words are so incredibly kind, Daphnie. Thank you. I'm so glad you're here!
Ikr! I love her personality! A lot minimalist channels/youtubers have lost their appeal to me because I find them to be too polished and trying to induce inspiration, but Margaret seems really natural and real, and that's refreshing :) subscribed ~
👍💞
You not weird, I don’t do my nails for the same reasons.
I am similar with you on the nails 🤩
The natural color of nails are so pretty.
Same with number two lol
So many women waste too much money on makeup. I am fine without wearing makeup. If I would wear makeup, I would only have the basic and would not waste money on it.
Hang washing out in fresh air👌
If it's not to help and aid people and animals that need it, I don't know what has more worth than that...
but ur hair looks healthy n beautifull, drop ur haircare routine
I actually just donated a lot of serving platters to Goodwill.
IDK 😆
I'm embracing my grays.
this was such a lovely video! I am not a mom (yet hehe) but your tips were great!! definitely sticking around for more! God bless
I’ve been considering decluttering my life & living a simple life. I came across your video & i love your energy 🙂
I was literally thinking “hmm I should show my hairstylist this” 😂
Hi, Margaret! Thank you for the video! 😊 It would be great to know what kind of camera you use to make your videos
I buy hair color from the dollar store
I know plain oatmeal is good for you. Will it hurt about the triglycerides because I’ve got to have fiber from something. Lol
Loved watching this video. I'm still on this simple living, minimal healthy living.
The gray hair one HIT ME. I’ve been debating if I should get my hair professionally dyed, but you convinced me to keep going with the natural grays for now 🥲💛
Can u do a book recommendation? Love this video
Life is 🎁 good saving. Good wise budget. Wise lady welcome to your ways of buying
Margaret, you're doing good content, it's well prepared and easy to follow. Keep going, helping a lot of people. 🚀
My kids toys are visible clutter and it bothers me. They don't fit the bins anymore. Mostly stuff animals.
You can communicate her on here telegrm page.
@ROSEGARDNERBIS
❤Thank you from South Africa.. this is so me
Hey Margaret, great video! Do you think you can do a video of your favorite simple & easy workouts you do at home? I’m trying to save on getting a gym membership 🤣
I don’t buy any of these 50 things 😄 so happy!!!
Your grey looks very beautiful…
U look way to young for Grey hair darling
You are brilliant just the way you are ❤️
Love this❤️♥️
You lost me on pets!!
Public library! A great way to save money on books and they have hard copy books, e-books, audiobooks plus movies and a streaming service…all free!
I’ve never had my nails or makeup done, I started wearing makeup at 13 and I’m in my 50s now. I prefer to do it myself 🌹
#1 What about cleaning your nails. Cuticles, nail beds, overall nail health
Can you make a video of compilation of the influencers you trust? (Mostly about self help)
You have beautiful hair. Maybe you can share your hair care. Thanks for sharing, it is inspiring. I am trying to declutter my house.
Just found your channel subscribed love you and your channel so much and that you are a Christ believer ❤️ is amazing!
So glad you’re here!!
I love your vids you are soooo aesthetic 💗💗💗💗✨
haha, thank you so much!!
Thank you for your suggestions and your no-judgement, honest approach to sharing what has positively impacted your life.🤩
christmas decor is such a huge point for me 😬🎄🎅
Grey hair is beautiful and I love seeing women embrace it
That you got this helpful video, as always. I would really like to see your minimal phone, purse/wallet scenario and calendar/planner set up. Struggling in those three areas. Thank you 😊
Seems Like I have always been this person but juat never named myself as a minimalist..
First time watching your videos and I’ve concluded…. Your awesome ❤ subscribe ☑️
Your hair looks great! Don’t worry about your grays.
Yes please, show us your minimal phone😊
Glad I found out that I have never purchased 45 out of 50 of the things you mentioned... i need to say that most is normal life habits where I live (in Italy) ... I have two cats though 😅
So I hear in European countries. I love that! I was born and raised in the US and my simple living journey is pretty much “unlearning” everything that I thought was normal to have/need/want. I love hearing about how others live in different countries. It inspires me
Most!
I am doing almost all of these except coffee tumblers, cups and phone cases. I gotta workout on this area
I just love you and your channel. You always keep it very real.Im excited when you post.Blessings to you precious soul.
Hi friend! What is your washable couch? We are in the market for one and that is genius!
I’d love a minimal phone video! I am struggling with apps and email overload but I feel like I NEED everything 😂
I love your videos. But to be honest a large part of the reason I love them is just seeing the difference between American way of life and Aussie. Like what on earth are even drier sheets? But everything being washable and no baby proofing, I hear you! Kids omg why is everything always sticky?....
5:20 actually, if you value your health, you should stop animal products altogether, "good quality" meat or dairy is still as carcinogenic and cholesterol laced as poor quality one...
your haircolor is so pretty i love it
i love your makeup, it’s so pretty and natural
I use vinegar as a cleaner. I make all my own cleaners.
I was really trying to figure out the color of your hair, its so pretty.
