Heya crew cheers for saying gday in the comments and I can see a lot of you have hit that like button for this video, it makes all the difference, these type of vids often don't get as many views so it great to see there is an audience out there and people finding them useful. Cheers again
Keep em coming! I came for your experiences with the Motoz Rallz, but stayed for a lot of other great wisdom. I don't have a DR but your wisdom applies to anyone who favors function over form. Was it you who had a canvas type mat that had a magnetic patch on it to lay your tools and parts on when working in the dirt? I've been looking for one of those for a year now and nobody understands what I'm talking about.
In this video you can see the rag (old teatowel) I use as a tool roll, which becomes a tool mat when working in the dirt like you describe. Does the trick!

Canadian here about to purchase a 2023 dr650. The bike is popular here for its price and ruggedness. A younger generation of beginner dual sport riders are benefiting greatly from your content here. Hilarious and informative. Please keep it up 👍
In South OZ there are 2 grades of storm water tube . a thinner cheaper 1 and a thicker more robust 1. I didn't see any primer on the joint bud ??? LOL. I made some of these for storing my arc welder rods. They keep the moisture out. On another note. I prefer shorter youtube vids. Some people go on for half an hour talking and repeating shit they can get across in a few min"s. No offence to you. But I like shorter more to the point vids. Good job. Even if there is a lack of primer.
Tragedy... I tried to get Motoz HT 90/100 21 for my DR650. Looks like they stopped making wider size and gone to 90/90 21. That is all I can get in Melbourne. Stock up if there is any left in WA. Awesome videos, by the way.
Hey mate thanks heaps for your useful content You're a wealth of information I've just started making my tube now, but I was wondering if I could hassle you for all of the tools an equipment that you take so I can set mine up with a similar setup to yours cheers
@@SKIDSnSTUFF ok thanks was going to do that also, was hoping to get an itemized list!? To see exactly all of the tools I would need for a dr, thanks for the reply!!
Do you do anything to stop the lid from undoing itself while you ride? I've lost a few fire extinguishers off of my work bike so started putting a screw in the side of the lid thru the thread.
Love this kind of simple and easy mod. We didn't buy DR650s to put on 10 grand worth of addons right? Also keen for things like how to tune the carby on the DR specifically or any other quick and easy tweaks that don't cost much
you might be interested in this video Frank ruclips.net/video/RPHunHvn_xA/видео.html Basically the"carby tune" for me is come out on the fuel/air screw, and in summer take out the snorkel. Thats it.
Awesome mate, great tips for someone looking to transition from road riding. Be cool if you could put a list of the self sufficient tools in the description! ( or do a video running through them) That info is gold and often only found through learning what you are missing the hard way!
Followed your instructions to the tee but upon completion found that my side cover wouldn’t go in so I RE watched the video and now I’m guessing your didn’t either. Haha. No biggie I just moved it rearward a bit and Bobs your uncle 👍
What brand of metal putty do you carry; and has it successfully fixed anything?? Do you think any cheap brand of kneading-type epoxy stick would be worth carrying, in case of cracked engine-cases etc.? I'm only carrying a tiny tube of superglue, to make a paste with wood-ash or whatever powder I can find; and it has proven to plug a leaking radiator hose long enough to get home.
not sure of the brand but yeh mainly carry in case of holed cases. tried fixing a lever with it but didnt hold for long. good idea with the super glue!

Can you post a list of what you carry tool-wise? Would be very helpful for new riders like me I. assembling a basic too kit for the DR 👍
Please do a follow up video listing and explaining your tool choices for a DR650 adventure rider! Thanks Skidz
SKIDS !!!! - There is an audience for this type of stuff !!! - TRUST ME !!!! I appreciate all you do !!! Thank you !!!
cheers!
If there is a DR650 in a video, there is an audience.
FNA !!!!
copy that! note to self : more DR
Well done!
Inexpensive, simple to make, and very helpful video.
I really like that you didn't make a 20-30 minute video out of it as some people do.
haha i basically made this channel as an antithesis to that kind of rubbish. Cheers!
@@SKIDSnSTUFF exactly why i subscribed, one of the only channels that i dont have to watch at 2x speed, haha

Keep eh coming. I made this yesterday and fitted it up with no issues, and the price was about a $1 more. Just have to fill it now. Thanks.
Send me one of those Aussie hacksaws. No wonder you have so much time to ride!

You're going to love it! I just hit 2000mi on my 23 dr650 yesterday. It is a great bike and highly customizable.
great to hear from ya, enjoy the ride!
Aan additional precaution I riveted the bottom cap!
Yep this video was great. I've been meaning to chuck one of these on my pig and you've just inspired me to do so, cheers.
Great to hear!
Love the glue sound affects 😂
haha pretty realistic ay ;) i could have probly just went and grabbed a brush, instead of slurping into the mic
Nope slurping into the mic was spot on bro!
You can also just use an old welding rod tube
Funny you are. Just keep enjoying it matey!
cheers Jim

haha i did look at the primer but figured its overkill for this job. I do try to trim the fat on my videos where possible. Not on my bacon though.
Never bored here - on point. Love your work. Keep it up. DR 4 days and counting…
Nice work mate. Coolest vids around 😊
cheers Tony!
That’s an amazing saw. Did you get that from Chuck Norris?
stole it off him. he put up a good fight
He’s got nothing on a DR650 jockey
Classic !!! No Shit LOL !!!
That looks great! I made one from ABS sewer pipe, but I think yours make be lighter and have more room in it. Thanks for sharing!

Here for the hacksaw tips 😮
haha you can borrow it any time Matty
90 mm is that 3.5 inches?
3.54331. Not sure what the standard diameter stormwater pipe is for you guys but ya must have something right around that size. maybe 3"?
this baby can fit so many m&ms
should get me through breakfast

I found 100mm PVC to be the go and a filing cabinet lock works well to secure the tools if you are around other people.

How does it hold up during rains?
It's waterproof, you could ride it into an estuary and no water would get in, ask me how I know
