People say that Gladiator 2 is not a good movie but if we delve in deeply into the scenes, the hidden message that Mr. Ridley Scott tries to convey is a "decaying Roman Empire from the inside". In a video clip scene when the gladiators are brought into the city of Rome, Mr. Ridley Scott shows pictures of a lot of beggars on the streets and sick people. The city of Rome at that time in the movie has two faces: magnificent buildings everywhere but there is a lot of poverty, disease, and corruption is rampant among the elite. It is a cerebral movie. A movie for smart people: the story is about heroes who are trying to fix a broken system but have to face very difficult situations. The acting of some actors may seem "mediocre" but the story telling is very touching and very emotional. Mr. Denzel Washington's acting though is awesome. Great movie. 🙏🙏
Poor man...the interviewer did this so smoothly. big respect for being so polite when it comes to these same lame, meant to be funny questions. I definitely could not handle it like this. Anyways, tomorrow is my cinema date with this film, can't wait for it!
Me trying to watch the interview without watching all the clips from the movie. I want to see Ali interview these actors but I don't want the movie ruined for me.
To many clips. Please stick to the trailer’s footage because you just did half of three scenes that I hadn’t seen and didn’t want to until I see the movie. Or just put spoiler warnings
Same, Denzel did as much as he could with the material he had to work with and is always a standout, Pascal who has never really impressed me in anything before surprisingly has the most interesting character in the whole film but the film itself being shot on digital makes it seem like a Netflix movie with that actors-doing-cosplay look compared to the gorgeous cinematic visual quality of kodak and eastman 35mm used for the first one where it actually looks like a professional studio movie from the big 5 (I watched them back to back as a double bill). The other letdown is that you don't really end up caring about any of the characters so you're not that emotionally engaged in the story unfortunately. Crowe, who has a magnetic screen presence, actually looks like a regal war veteran / Roman general rather than a guy you would see down at your local gym and his performance manages to provoke you emotionally. The first 2 minute entrance alone into the colosseum before Maximus instructs the gladiators to stick together just for sheer thrill-factor, soundtrack, tension building..etc from the first one is far better than the entirety of Gladiator 2 (6.5). Ridley is great when he has a good script to work with (The Last Duel / The Martian) but his directorial style can't elevate a lacklustre script in the same way that someone like Spielberg can.
Russell’s Aussie accent would’ve been far worse. Crowe as Maximus was a once in a lifetime performance but Mescal did a superb job considering the immensely mediocre script he was given, and at certain times Mescal did manage to capture some of that energy.

Great movie. 🙏🙏
Expensive and bad story. Connie Nielsen is the worst actress. The actor playing main character has no charisma or spark.
How does he do this? THE best interviews every single time...
Agreeeeeee
Ridley Scott is 87 and has 4 films and 2 TV shows in development atm. The man truly loves what he does.
He is legend 4 a reason haha
Could just be an entire video of celebs swiping through your gallery, Ali. No need to ask questions.
Denzel Washington, "I want to be him when I grow up". (What a Compliment)
- Ridley Scott
Ali Plumb is a legend
“He’s got him lined up like planes over Cleveland”. Incredible. 🙏
Denzel……..steals every scene……even with just a look of the eyes….❤
Been following Ali for a while, he really is a master of his craft.
Connie is so pleasant 😩😍love her
Paul just casually scrolling through Ali’s pics!
Paul Mescal for the next Bond.
Way to sweet for it
can he be the bond that respects women?
@@sodeikuTo be fair, most of the dudes being considered give off that vibe - Jack Lowden, Aaron Taylor Johnson and James Norton
No, he has too much taste to involve himself in a thinly disguised 90 minutes of product placements.
Really good segment. Kudos.
i WILL NEVER skip an ali plumb interview
I've seen tons of Gladiator 2 interviews, I think this one might be the best
OMG, Ali is an amazing interviewer!
Ali is the best interviewer

coolest moderator ever
I see you there putting Cheryl Cole into the video. Well played edit team, well played.
omg i also want my travel pics to be rated by Paul
Loved this film.
these interviews are so pleasant to watch
Decent watch if one doesn't compare it with the first film .
Superb sequel.❤
If you score Gladiator as a 9/10, I give G2 7.8/10.
Did we need it? Is it a very good film? yes.
A must on the big screen.
Best reviewer by far❤❤❤
Ali is the best.
Simple epic loved it do inspiring to see real man brutal and brave, they are like dinosaurs disapired😢
Ali u are the GREATEST 🫡
I would love to be best friends with Paul he seems hysterical and just so chill (until he's playing a game and will fight to survive lmao)
beating him in a game would have been so funny!
There should be Movies That Made Me interview with Denzel
There's one from 7 years ago ruclips.net/video/8naCXjsPJiM/видео.htmlsi=vT3Oj_rAwLD0DTUG
So Paul Mescal could be the next James Bond
@@DimitriCHARLES he def smoulders with intensity. Vital to a good James Bond.
I would love to see Paul Mescal and Kit Connor work together.
I wanted to say Paul it’s the biggest movie you made and will ever make and the I hear about gladiator 3 😅
Most expensive movie -bad fiction. Without Denzel and Mescal would have left the movie theatre. It should not been made.
And now Denzel will go and watch Normal People.
😂 dimana kedua kaisar itu ? Peran antagonis nya agak kurang emosional ya mungkin Karena masih muda. Crazy and perfect movie action Gladiator 2
Haha nice
Denzel washington movie fans
Shame is a shadow of original film.
Was that a bottle of Vodka that Paul was drinking? 😂
Why do these interviews spoil the movies so. I'm glad I watched it before watching this.
Me trying to watch the interview without watching all the clips from the movie. I want to see Ali interview these actors but I don't want the movie ruined for me.
Go and see the film then?

Just watched the film. Really disappointed.
😂😂 why?

@@thetalentofWe get it; you’re not young anymore.
The Roman with an Irish accent. Russell Crowe he ain't.
T.G.

so my bbc fee money is being used to promote a private movie?
Pretty sure the private movies pay for promo
Yep they used your specific license fee to pay for Ali’s uber can you believe it?
We know you’ve skipped paying for years.
'the new gladiator movie comes out soon. critics are calling it everything from "shit"... to "fucking shit"!"
Sadly, the film was so bad. 🥲
Not surprised, the CGI is ropey, the dialogue is cringe worthy and Paul Mescal is no substitute for Russell Crowe
Why do you think it was bad?
It’s a fantastic film.
@@FutureShock-b4yI do visual effects. They’re aaa actually. Some of the best work I’ve seen.
@@mattjarrett01 I'm just going by what I've seen in all of the trailers so far, I'm seeing the movie next week.
