this is a fantastic interview. Everyone is comfortable and open and Nikki did a great job with asking every actor good questions about the film and not making anyone feel left out. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
How brave Connie is to reprise a roll 25 years later and not a cameo but as much or more screen time than G1. I saw G2 and when Connie made her first appearance I was stunned at how lightly she's aged. What a professional.
It’s so refreshing to hear an interviewer hit questions, such as these. Bravo on that. But I’m glad Fred’s laugh was picked up. It was something I caught from the trailer and was drawn into. It’s like very childlike, playfulness in a way. Just from the clips I’ve seen.
I loved this movie!! As a history major and serious nerd when it comes to the history of gladiators, I knew a lot of it was going to be factually inaccurate, but historical fiction (and even “historical fan fiction”) can be done brilliantly, and this is one of those occasions. These kinds of films inspire people to learn more about the real events and time period, and they’re just good craic.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching Gladiator 2, and it was a beautifully nostalgic experience that exceeded my expectations. The film pays respectful homage to the original while introducing fresh elements that remain true to its tone. It is grand, elegant, sophisticated, and noble-ultimately delivering a deeply satisfying cinematic experience. Denzel Washington delivered a masterful performance, effortlessly commanding every scene he was in. The new lead was an excellent casting choice; rather than attempting to overshadow the original hero, he brought skill and an endearing innocence to the role, making him instantly likable. While I appreciated the screen time he was given, I found myself wishing for more scenes with Pedro Pascal, whose presence added gravitas to the film. One slight drawback was the CGI during the sequences with the fighting monkeys, which could have been more polished. Additionally, while the emperors were portrayed well, their goofy moments felt out of place at times-I would have preferred more wit and intellectual depth in their characterization. On the other hand, the visual splendor was remarkable, with grand set designs and breathtaking cinematography that elevated the film to an epic scale. The princess character was as noble and captivating as we remembered her from the first movie, a testament to both the actress's talent and the script's respect for continuity. The costume design team also delivered magnificently, capturing the richness and authenticity of the era. In the end, Gladiator 2 is undeniably worth watching, balancing reverence for the original with a confident stride into new territory. Fans of the first film will find much to admire, and newcomers will be swept up in its epic scope.
This film has brought out so many of my emotions similar to the black panther film. Denzel is outstanding in this film an oscar worthy nod. he is so believable and convincing. All of the actors done a fantastic job.
2nd time this year!! First Austin Butler and now Fred Hechinger : Very nice candid people during interviews , then you go watch the movie and see a psychopath! 😂😂😂
Wow! It’s so interesting to have these fabulous actors to sit and discuss the fantastic roles that they play in this epic adventure. Can’t wait to see this movie in theaters
I'm not going to lie. I'm a movie buff, so these interviews are (almost) always interesting to me, but whenever I see that Nikki Novak is the interviewer; I'm more excited to see her than the stars she interviews. She possesses a wonderful energy and her questions are always on point. Plus, forgive me for this, but she is a truly beautiful woman.
Tra 16 giorni finalmente vedró al cinema Il Gladiatore 2. Sinceramente non vedo l'ora ❤🔥. Ora vado a vedere il nono e il decimo episodio della seconda stagione di Roma by HBO max.
No fred and caecalla not twin dumbass, they were 1 year apart Carcala was older, then he later killed Geta in front of their motth at age 23 for sole power
With all due respect to these fine actors especially Denzel Gladiator II is no Gladiator I. Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix brought gravitas to their roles as did all the secondary actors plus there was so much less CGI. CGI has its place but when it is over used as it was in this film it makes everything so boring. The movie ended up being basically silly. The first Gladiator film makes a tremendous emotional impact on the viewer. That was not the case this time around. Can't understand why it was even made.
This interviewer is extremely annoying. Calm down! And she ignores the most important part of the interview. That our world in the past 25 years has developed into a potential dystopia if we are not careful. Listen to Conny Nielsen´s comments. The Fall of the Roman Empire....The Fall of the United States?
Is Denzel okay? He seems to not have a real answer to most questions on these promotions, like he doesn't understand what people are saying half the time and he's giving vague answers based on some of the words. It's similar to how Bruce Willis was being in recent years. :(
This is probably the toughest part of his job doing promotions and staying engaged. He never seems to enjoy them but if it seems there is an illness coming on as he ages, that’s sad then, would be very unfortunate 😢
What do you even mean? Where do you get that there is something wrong with him? He’s like a full time actor, performing and working full time. He is 70 and seems to be in great health. So much weird speculation in this comment like it’s pointless, there is nothing wrong with him. All you’re pointing out is peculiarities that stick out to you in a discussion. Have you ever been in a conversation? they are filled with normal oddities and natural little peculiarities. Don’t sad face for the legend Denzel like😂 the man is a giant
Imagine thinking this was a good movie. Nothing came together whatsoever and the plot was just dumb. But oh, it had (1) big name actor and a couple people from the first movie. Geez people are gullible.
This movie was so bad compared to the first one which was a 8 1/2 this movie is it too it’s boring it’s repetitive the actor suck whoever picked that guy for the lead actor should be fired
Fandango..One of biggest movie review companies of all time need a better, smarter interviewer Im just very normal guy, a father of 3, a family man who just love movie so so much…feel it and say it I’m sorry Mr Denzel for them to put you in this low IQ interview and interviewer
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 shiet movie, should never have been made, same plot, different actors, musing over leftovers from a movie, that although not historical accurate, was good, with a fantastic soundtrack. And what is up with movie journalists ??? These kind of interviews seems like a promotion, this is just pure shiet wrapped urine stained silk
Good sequel, not better than the original, but unfortunately very close, for your. Cry over it forever. Denzel is a genius and Paul mescal confirms that's he is the face of the new generation. Just as chalamet did as Paul atreides this very year
Denzel : ''I'm leaving with somethin', you feel me ''
Leaves with Gold Plated Chariot.

Connie is a wonderful narrator. Her command of descriptive English is astonoshing and she just draws you in.
Connie looked older in the film and younger in this interview.
So true 🫶
Flawless ... oh Denzel Washington was Flawless
That screen where he absolutely absorbed the power of the Thrown and he knew it!???? Flawless

@@RealisticMgmt A good one, mate. :D But, no, Nikki would never be so vain or indecent. I'm just a poor guy who's probably in love. :)

Great film! Great journeying back to this time
Connie Nielsen describes scenery of first Gladiator to the 2nd which are true ..
I watched it yesterday, it was a great movie.
Loved the film! Seen it yesterday
Love watching interviews. Never knew there were style into using sword.
The ensemble of actors here, are huge, I will look to own this movie. Good luck! With it. 🌎 *
Only thing Denzel did wrong was say "Hose him down". There weren't any hoses back then!
This movie just became extremely relevant. Literally overnight.
No theocracy
No emperor.
Eh I think we're alittle closer to societal collapse now than they were at the timeframe the film takes place.
@ they had an empire throwing death games to appeal and appease the vulgar crowd.
That’s just what happened

Women in Rome absolutely had power. Just not the way we’d expect or want. Octavia. Fulvia. Agrippina the Elder. Livia Drussilla. Names go on.
Connie nielsen the only original cast returning.. they shd include njamon hounsou also
Derek Jacobi returned as well👍🏾
8:40 Great observation!
When imagination comes to life !!!!
Those baboons would have been starved by guards and they would have been voracious, this scene was off the scale.

As long as they get pay, they say good things about the director.
I thought the emperor twins were terrifying characters, truly mad, I found nothing funny about them.
Connie looks like she hasn't aged in 20 years...wow.
I know it's not a historical film but I don't know if Gen Z knows that 😅 just action Hollywood movie
