1) they already slid from the top of that hill...I'm guessing WITH their brake on; 2) they're not even outside trying to walk on the ice they insist they can drive on..."if you'll just pull me over to the middle.."; 3) what a great set of heroes you are...the non-reactive type in the hard moments...yet you are willing to risk life and limb...to help the "don't know what we're doing's" that cry for help when the wrong-behavior presents. Well done, both of you. I'm thankful people like you are able/willing to help when help is so needed.
Well said 👏 👌 👍
Love it when they attempt to tell Jeff how to do it😂 Like, what you call him for partner?
Cracks Me Up When These Dingy People Try To Tell You, The Professional How To Do Your Job🤬
Jeff, you have the patience of Job with your customers. I almost had a heart attack when that Tahoe suddenly slid sideways. Good thing you had that front strapped! I usually feel sorry for people having to pay a large tow bill, but I hope you charged them double so they will think before putting their family, the public & the tow company in a dangerous situation. Good job, Jeff & Kristen.
i would think at least where i live in a situation like this it would be by the hour not flat rate
What a great job- you and Kristen are a great team! Too bad there are people out there that think it’s a good idea to drive on ice. Thanks for letting us tag along!
Keep iti
Keep it in the ditch on left and back out
Y’all are so the bomb when it comes rescues and getting people out of trouble , truly angels with tow trucks
Praise be ye Lord for sending the right team. You guys Rock! Awesome job well done.
My thought would be to stock up on bags of salt and keep a couple on the truck. Use a hand held spreader. It should start melting as soon as put down.
I agree
That’s a good idea. But people who don’t dress warm to go up an ice covered mountain road in a 2wd are not likely to heed that advice. But that little car went right up in front of them! Hahaha
You would think people their age would have the common sense to know the difference between front wheel drive and rear wheel and also know that THIS wasn’t the time to go sightseeing ! Hope you charged double!!$$$ Once again…great job
You two are so good together. Amazing! Just why do these people think they can climb icy mountains? Go back to flat land and not put precious ones like you all in danger. Jeff and Kristen you are a blessing to those who have no sense. God bless and may you stay safe!
I would have hated to pay that tow bill. Lol. That was so good and the driver KNEW EVERYTHING I'll prob watch a rerun tomorrow lol 😆 😅
10k for emotional distress for Jeff every snow season. Lol I say
I guess if it wasn’t for all the so called expert winter drivers you wouldn’t have as much business as you do. Ice in the mountains are for the elk not cars. Great job as always
I want to say - What in the world were they thinking? - but obviously they weren't' Y'all have such good hearts to help people that get themselves into impossible situations.
Jeff and Kristen, you are truly called to do what you're doing. I'm afraid I would not have had the patience to deal with that situation at all. Safety of my family is always, after the Good Lord, first in priorities. There is a highway near my hometown that is one heck of a winding road, and it's dangerous in dry, sunshiny weather, but it would be a death wish to come down it if it's iced over. There have been a lot of years when it has. If it were me and I was faced with icy roads and freezing temperatures, I would just have to stay on top of Log Town Hill! Great video. This the first time I've seen this one, most of your others I've seen a few times!
Love the vid especially that guy that slid down the hill and almost wiped out trying to get his dog lol!! That was completely random but proves the point that if you wipe out just trying to walk on the ice…. You probably can’t drive on it especially with a rear wheel vehicle lol!
In the mid 80s I had to drive a 15 passenger dodge 4wheel drive van with chains on the front down the mountain from Ober to the tram way mall in town loaded with loaded passengers, back when the Heidelberg was still up there! That was an E ticket ride for sure!
Omg I can’t drive that kind of road be safe out there
Hey Jeff I bet as long as it took you to get that Tahoe off at icy mountain road I bet he'll think twice about trying to go up there when you give him the bill
He could backed out. You both are troopers. 👍
Wow incredible job Jeff and Kristin
Dame never seen little snow or ice 😂. I’m sorry but everyone up north be laughing 😂 at that 4 hour tow with little bit of snow.
You could have not even paid me enough money to go up that in my 4wd avalanche!
My idea in the first 5 minutes. Pull from the low side over the hillside form the right. OR pull off the tree on the lowside just enough to get the driver tire away from the ditch.
Or a rollback might be another option.
My worthless 2 cents. :)
In this sort of predicament, kitty litter is an option to keep in the vehicle. Or a couple of bags of sand.
And the people they were following up the hill didn't even come back to check on them😮
Whatever you charge, it ain’t enough
. . . Even with my foot on the brake??? That is a special kind of dumb. Sorry, I call ‘em as I see them.
I would think you would carry a few buckets of salt. Add it to tow cost and get that Heat brand fast acting salt. Just salt around area of car so when you slide it the tires might get some traction. Just a thought, it has helped me get out of work as our lot would puddle up near the frozen drain turn to ice and the tires were literally frozen to the ground 5 inches deep. Sprinkle Heat around tires and 5 minutes later it worked. Great videos btw!
Now I now who to call when I’m in Gatlinburg
Jeff, another great 👍🏻 towing service. Have a great weekend. From Kentucky
Heart stopping moments! You guys are great!
Looked like a great job guys! Fun and scary to watch at the same time! You guys rock!
And as usual cardiologist on speed dial! Love you.
I've driven up to Ober Gatlinburg 2--3 times when it was snowing, but driving a 4WD Suburban or AWD Denali. No ice, just snow. I wouldn't attempt that in a rear 2 wheel drive. We rode the ski lift in a blizzard, it was so quiet and beautiful. I hope I never need your services, but I just put your number in my phone...
Watching replay
😊
Even with my foot on the brake? 😬
Winter mountain drivers need to have sand, rocksalt, road scrappers and shovels in the car. Jumper cables wouldn't hurt either.
The chain gang strikes again! And may I say also the best 'Orange rope unraveling' ever seen in the history of RUclips lol. Best wishes from Scotland.
Studded winter tires would be advised under these ice conditions.
You guys DO GREAT WORK !! HooAh !! I watch everyday for new content!!
I would not have thought to use tire chains or any chains to help in that situation. And I live in WV, Snow, yuck.
Cold, yuck.
Lolol
You know how to use those chains. Very impressive.
Jeff you are the man!!👍
Good job I don’t think I would’ve tried it but you did a good job lots of$$$$
What patience. I would have them walk to the top. If they stayed upright, then I would have helped them.
Hello from the Netherlands and thanks for the video EA
I used chain link fencing that I cut 2ft wide and 25 foot long, I kept 4 rolls on my tow truck so I could keep 2 for traction under car and 2 to rotate untell I got them off the ice.
That is an amazing idea Michael, thank you so much for sharing that with me I will definitely be trying this on our next snow season.
Hey guys! Hello and thumbs UP !!
Who in their right mind would buy a 2 wheel drive SUV. Plain stupid not to mention retail value will be in the toilet.
Hey Jeff, Hey Kristen
Hello Ryan!!
You got this jeff
If your story starts "I tried to drive a rear wheel drive boat up a steep mountain road covered in ice." Then don't waste your breath telling me about your mad driving skills
Wow y'all are the best
You'd almost think that people say to themselves, ooh, look at that sunshine glinting off the ice; let's go look for a burial plotvwith a view'. Ive had several front-wheel cars and they can go pretty much any place as lomg as they don't get high-centered ot the snow isn't deep enough to require a plow.
You need a remote control system, so You can be close to the vehicle.
come in April hope to see y'all in a good way LoL
Lol I saw you jump. When SUV moved
Do you have chains to put on their cars until they are out? and salt? Then charge them for it. ( usage fees)
I love Gatlinburg and the smokies. I never had any of these issues and thankful for that! I have learned a lot watching you. I love how you say you don't think it's going to work, then you make it work.
I did purchase those spiky things for my shoes a few months ago.
This one was wild
you guys sure know how use you all heads when it come getting people's truck down on icing roads i am glad that everything work out for you all and no one got hurt and jeff you and your wife work good together it so bad peoples try to drive on icing roads they should know better to just stay home
I don't know if the recovery people can use the trees around them like you do in the state of Washington. I've never seen it my whole life till Everything Autos.
Ive seen Ron Pratt use trees for leverage in his videos. Check him out.
Dear Jeff My brother in law back yrs ago had a towing company and there was some places that he would not waste his time helping people out of citiations like that it might be rude but no one life or equipment is worth it just saying
Why would you go on an icy hill with just a rear wheel drive? Was there a 4 wheel drive option? I have questions.
I think the heat from his engine is melting the ice on the road and his brakes are holding him there on unfrozen pavement. Just my thought.
Great pull, 18:48 is the reason......
Up north it would of been done in 20 minutes
Common sense people. Happy they had a good outcome!
Have y’all ever had someone not pay you after you get them out of their situation
Mules and horse trails
They took a 2 wheel drive vehicle up that road.
Was watching this and seen the show chains was wanting to know where you got them at I need some of them
Great work! They need to lay down salt on that road. they need to put a sign on the bottom of that road that reads “if you don’t have 4 x 4 turn around “ 😂 Stay safe and God bless!
I'm not even 6 minutes in. That fella just knows better than anyone, just pull him over to the middle, he can drive the rest of the way. Were I in this conversation, would tell him it is so nice he is so sure, but he would have to get someone else. Am thinking you probably will against your better judgement. Just am cringing to see the outcome. At 33 minutes, hope he knows this wasn't just a piece of cake and the fee will be way up there.
Let me think about this it's hard enough with a 4 wheel drive Tahoe let lone a 2 wheel drive and to think the man put him and his family in danger AND THEN tell you how you should do your job WOW brave people not so much, not trying to gudge people but holy cow if you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch the proof that you can't fix stupid is in this video I understand that it's awesome scenery there and it's good to get out but use your head and keep your mouth shut and let the professionals do there job. Sorry people like that just make me mad. Back in the day I drove a wrecker for 16 years and when people would try to tell me how to do my job I would say let me think about this oh I'm not the one that put you in this situation. Sorry again .God bless you guys and as always be safe 👍
I bet the seats had pucker marks all over them.
Jeff you could of backed out. Bad drivers.
carry sand with you
I just wish you would let us listen in when you give them the bad news about how much their mistake is going to cost them.
💰💰💰
Why do people who have no experience driving in snow and ice covered mountain roads come here during the winter? They are not prepared at all, no winter clothing for any of them, one looks like house slippers. No heavy coats, I'm sure no food or water supplies in car in case they get stuck on a back road..people don't think that don't live there.
Hey y'all. Curious what road was this incident on?
St Moritz Dr Gatlinburg
@@EverythingAutos Thanks
Job
No closed caption ☹️
Jeff, what is your opinion on the winch anchors that are normally buried?
I have seen those in action but I’ve never personally tried them, they look amazing for the toolbox. Problem for our area is it is very rocky.
put some dirt in fornt of drive wheels
When it comes to ice: STAY AT HOME!!!!!! FWD, RWD, AWD and 4WD won't work on ice.
What did this one cost? $450 -$500
Two wheel TAHOE why ?
Why do people buy 2 wd suvs? Sport utility vehicle should be four wheel drive. And why would you try that with 2 wheel drive?
For this driver he was from Florida and in 28 years there I only saw snow flakes once, so a rear 2 wheel drive SUV isn't needed and far cheaper. On the other side I would never attempt to drive on ice even with a 4 wheel drive. They are good on snow, but still lose traction on ice. Jeff could tell you that he has recovered many.
The wife needs to stop with the useless directives. Don't want to hear about insurance policy crap.when it's my property my policy over rules.
