We have property in Racine Wisconsin if you ever find yourselves up there ....plug the beast right in to our garage....our twin boys are renting our house while we are on the road ... that where we plug in when visiting... lol hope to see you guys down the road. You'll know when it's time...it took us 3years of planning and like you guys putting a rig together by trial and error. Lol Our 3500 wouldn't handle all the extra weight we put in....especially most of my mechanic tools. Can't prepare for everything but I think we're close🤣 I'm was over the moon seeing another kodiak/lance set up...I couldn't find nothing 1.5years ago on RUclips university' ... We follow each other on IG so if I see we are near you we will make an effort to connect. Take care !

looking at building one of these style rigs, i like what yoy have done ans also your friends gray rig, does he have a youtube channel that follows his build for info or was his built just for pleasure ?

I also have a can am four seater and with younger kids, I really like the rooftop tent idea on the trailer deck for sleeping area .
Hi guys! I had been watching your vids and I like your rig, however, I had been reading some review about Kodiak’s engine and years and there are a lot of reviews recommending to stay away from any of those 6.6 duramax trucks! Apparently many issues with injectors, pistons and head gaskets. So, I found a few options but I’m very nervous in buying and getting those issues and expending thousands of dollars to get it fixed or lose it. What your experience is with it and what kind of tips could you share with me? Thanks
To protect the injectors and fuel system it’s recommended a lift pump be added. Other than some wiring issues overall the 6.6 duramax is a pretty solid platform. Especially if it doesn’t have the emission components. Overall we are happy and have only heard good things from other owners. Thanks for following along we appreciate it! So far it has done great. We added another battery and a portable solar panel since our install video. It will unfortunately not run our ac unit. We may switch to a more efficient ac unit in the future and run it off it’s own inverter.

Yes Matt’s rig is amazing! Definitely goals. We just had our other Kodiak camper rv friends staying on our property they have a sweet rig as well.

Overland Expo West in Flagstaff is supposed to be the biggest and best one! We had an amazing time. People came from all over the country.
Just put my camper on my ‘08 5500, waiting on my wheels but we’ll be there next year as well. Truck looks good 👍

4x4 is always gone be better in my opinion. Ours is 4x4, they are harder to find. They have the same engine as the 2wd.
How are you liking the Renogy solar system? Will it run the a/c at all?

We are 13’ 6” tall. We actually have an Arctic Fox 1150 camper on the truck now.

@@randall6890 if it is a 4x4 it would have the same ride height. I have a buddy with an identical 5500 and his sits the same as ours.
