I’m recovering from a spinal fusion surgery at home right now. Last night, I was in terrible pain. I watched hours of your videos trying to relax and sleep. Tonight is a much better night so far. Thanks for the distraction and helping these cows with their pain.
Hey Nate With the high volume of hooves that you are trimming and taking of, it’s inevitable that there may be a couple of cases that slip through … We appreciate your follow up and teaching moments
My husband came back from a work trip for a week and asked what I gad been up to. I told him ‘oh you know, cleaning, laundry, got some of those random tasks done. Oh! I also have basic knowledge about cow hoof trimming and common hoof problems!’ He just said ‘You know we live in the middle of a city right?’ Hah!
I agree with you. I would really like to know if the corkscrew was fixed with the trim and also if the inflammation is caused by that corkscrew if arthritis is involved.
I finally know what the green thing is that you used to separate out the two claws sometimes! It appears to be that glue gun nozzle. That’s really cool, nifty that you just happen to have it laying around so that’s what you use. ❤
O my gosh, Nate. You are such a drama--or should I say dairy--queen! You didn't get the corkscrew wrong. She DID have a corkscrew, and it needed remediation. It's just that her inflammation was not caused by a crack in the sole. 😂 Nice video.
Yeah. If it doesnt get better by resting the inflamed joint, next step is to call a vet. If its something like a torked tendon or mild sprain, putting a block on could fix it. But if its something like an actual infection or arthritis or bone damage, thats for a vet.
@@IMightBeVanny That could be why. They also don't like the noise, etc. involved with being in the crush. Graeme has said before that the cows probably don't like it very much.
Thank you for the video, so neat and informative, you and you're profession do a great service to these animals, thank you for caring about them, you're awesome.
Hey ure a hoof guy, i heard that almost all hoof issues are indirectly man made because of the diet we feed our animals, like they get too much protein so their shit is too wet, and that its the walking around in wet shit all day thats the root of most hoof illnesses. Is that true?

That doesn’t sound fun. Are you feeling any better now? Hope you’re healing up.
@@antdb3021 Much better. Pain is now under control. Thank you for your concern.
Cow #2 is thinking "I'm so close to the top! Just one more promotion and I will be the number one cow!"
Lol
Always like how the cows seem to look back and say thank you 😊
They're probably really thinking "Man, you've got your nerve, trapping me in that thing & messing w/ my feet...!"😂

It takes a lot recognizing your mistakes and you just did that, much respect, Nate.
Would love to see a follow up on this one if it happens to be convenient. Thanks for the video, Nate!
I second that.
Agreed!

We all get a surprise now and then.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Nate. I learn something new from each of your videos.
Sweet never seen an issue where just a block wad needed to help heal the cow. Awesome thanks Nate.

Great F1 race in your area, once upon a time.
Well y'all come back now, ya hear.
now you will never sleep watching Nate. tomorrow is another day.

My goodness, those knives are phenomenally sharp. I need Nate to sharpen all my leather working tools as I’m awful at sharpening.
Keep up the great vids Nate love this on!
I wonder did you ever call a vet on some farm?
Yay another video! I be waiting so long nate!... also nate man... I know it's hard but a nice long 20min video or something I'd be so happy 😊
I always watch your videos. Greetings from Germany.
Would the farmer have a vet treat something like that, typically?

Cool- didn’t expect that! Good luck #2!
Great job! 👍👏
Dr fixed another foot/ hoof problem!👍🏻💕
We love you, Nate!
This was a really interesting one ❤
Cows are droolers. 😁
They do that if they are are stressed out. Or have rabies. But I'm going with stressed out in this case.
@@TerryProthero Of course she's stressed out, she got separated from her herd.
Aw. The poor cow.

Are cows ticklish?
"Its nice to meet you Number 2!"
We need a "follow up" in a month. 😊
Ouch! I hope she heals up nice.
Would this internal damage not call for a vet?
Thank you for the video, so neat and informative, you and you're profession do a great service to these animals, thank you for caring about them, you're awesome.
Were do you live 🤔
So what is going on with the bones? Does she maybe have a break in there or a bone infection? Or maybe its just bruised from tripping on something?
I think that axel wall needed a little more exploration🤔
Will the corkscrew ever go away and go back to normal? Or will it always grow back crooked?
Nate- Are your tools razor sharp? They make cutting hooves look like butter.
I can’t get over how that blade cut through that horn like butter. 🫠
What kind of attachment do you use for your grinder? Is it a normal angle grinder attachment, or something special for hooves?
This vide has been up for 4 minutes and there are already two other comments.
We need a followup on this one bud.
Talk about a sharp blade
Do you do horses as well?
I'm SURE you've answered this before, but what causes the "corkscrew" is it just overgrowth?
So did it just heal on its own after this?
Now we need to know who is #1
Was that pronation or supination?
Yay, I'm getting better at identifying the problem, got it right at the beginning even before she went in the shout
Chute
I hope that cow isn't too upset about being #2....
because being #2 just means she's "the shit". Lol
Not a bad place to be in my opinion.
Was hoping for some Austin Powers Number 2 quotes in the comments. Clearly i may be the only adult with the mind of a child! 😁
well, time to cook dinner.

Number 2 tries harder!

This is the best hoof channel. Short, sweet, quiet, no accent.
What's wrong with an accent?
Opinion on accent depends on where you're from! As a Brit I'd say Nate has a strong American accent!
Dude you have to stop touching them feet with your hands man
ok....?
Should he use his feet?
