Thanks, I think the party is over. I am a music teacher now thanklessly dragging teenagers through school. I really miss being creative. It might be time to take control and change a few things.............. Its nice to still be appreciated. x
Saw you first when I was 16 on the bbc playing Glastonbury in 1998 and recorded it on vhs in my bedroom and “stay young” changed my life. It was and still is the greatest glastonbury moment I’ve ever seen and you playing the bass with a voice like that was brilliant! Every time i feel down i put that song on and it takes me back to that moment in my bedroom watching you when I was totally care free. Today is June 6th, 2020 and it’s my birthday, I’m 38 and theres a pandemic and I’m furloughed from work worrying about if I’ve got a job and how I’m going to support my wife and two kids and weirdly this song has never meant so much to me as it has today. Don’t feel like you’re not creative, everyone would love to create a moment for people like you all did in the 90s. In the words of Dr Seuss “Don’t cry because its over, smile because it happened” Stay safe ✌️🤘😃
This is an incredible song, I heard a snippet around the time this was on tv and spent (literally) a couple of years hunting it down from the melody. Pre Shazam and didn’t hear enough from the lyrics. It’s easily one of my favourite all time songs. They don’t make em like this anymore!
Myself and a friend saw Ultrasound at Oxford Brookes University Student Union Bar in the 90s. Possibly as part of Radio 1's sound City??? I'll never forget that. That evening Vanessa was immortalized as 'The Bird with amazing Vocals'
Go on.......someone start a campaign for a reunion gig. Either Im having a mid life crisis or the whole break up was a terrible mistake. It would be unbelievable to play those songs with the boys again. xxxx
Thanks that is so nice to see, we did a fantasic gig at the old Camden Falcon just before we were signed and people were hanging from the rafter, the whole place drippin in sweat. I know a guy who worked for Independiente (previously TOTP producer) Rik Blaxill, filmed it. I would love to see that too. Lets see who reads this.......... Fingers crossed. Oh and of course Live at Reading in the big tent second headline to Spiritualized. Someone somewhere must have filmed it.......... XXXXX
you guys were badass! i love your keyboardist in a head rocking trance classic 90's you just captured the generation and imprinted it so well so many gen z i find are looking back to 80s 90s for inspiration it's nice to see that
Vanessa best is now a music teacher at my school :) Shes been there for years now and always talks about ultrasound and how she played on jools and glasto. I am not lying. And I have a weird screen name cause I couldnt think of any good youtube names. Honest :D
One of the best (no pun intended) songs of the 90s - and it's not even the best (sorry) song on the album. An overlooked classic of a record. Genius band, fantastic live - here's hoping for some tour dates in 2022 and the world wakes up to this music.
They still are alive. What a good surprise! I heard them at La Route du Rock in Saint-Malo in 1999. What a presence, what energy! It was pretty difficult to find cd's of them here (in France). And still is. But I still listen to Everything Pictures with pleasure (and to annoy my neighboors).
I remember seeing some of the band as Sleepy People at the top floor of the Newcastle Uni building in the early ninetees and thinking wow. The guitarist played a fretless bass with twigs in his hair and was nuts. The band were made up in various guises and it was all pretty cool. I wish them all the success in their recent reunion as ultrasound
Magnificent band - saw Tiny when he was fronting "A-pop-a-cat-a-petal" (supported Cardiacs at the Astoria) - he kept blowing fountains of water into the air like a whale- we got drenched!
I was at the legendary Camden Falcon gig in 97 in the back room when there was maybe 50-60 people and many of them A&R men. I have seen many bands in such circumstances in front of less people before they made it big eg Nirvana, Blur, Oasis, Radiohead all in pubs/small venues before debut albums released - but the difference here was that Ultrasound actually were the finished article unlike the others. The room was electric and I shall never forget that night.
Incredible, thanks for that. My friend and I cornered Richard after a gig in Maidstone and offered to have his babies. Being male, that wouldn't have worked but he took it pretty well!
I saw the 'Sound a few times up here in Scotland and the show at la Belle Angel in Edinburgh was absolutely mobbed with anticipation. I've got some live recordings off the radio but my favourite stuff is the Nude demos and also the Popacatapetal tracks recorded pre Ultrasound which are like early Pink Floyd/Genesis. Check ou Tiny's myspace page and the one for "Siren".
check out the 'sleepy people' album 'blunt nails in a sharp wall' (recorded 93/94) on org records. it's interesting. some of the members of this band were involved in it..
coming soon to a venue near you we hope the north awaits punk floyd .. the loons are now shorts and the shell toes are waiting for the first drum roll ., a big dirty glass of bacardi mixed with a tin of jolt coke a cola preserved in ice .yous guys rock
This is incredible - this should have been number one for years and revered until the end of time! I guess the Gary Glitter lyric would work against it now, sigh... I am so pleased to have been around at the time (staying young at heart)
Saw Ultrasound at Break For The Border last week, played Stay Young right at the end...fucking epic. Crowd went fuckinig batshit when this came on. Tiny was in fine form.
Yes we are doing it, go on facebook join our page Ultrasound 2010, then you will find a link to 'A concert'. All info on there inc. links to tickets...........Gig is in Sept. xxx
@Vanessabest33 We need a reunion now even more than ever!!!!! amazing band saw then in the new bands tent at glastonbury years ago (they weren't even a new band then) and were the best band of the festival!!!!
Nice one Vanessa, you've got some great pipes ! Remember seeing you support Placebo and you were miles better, compared to the ridiculous adulation, Brian Molko got.
Haha, I can hardly breath, it so funny! His name, lelel, he's called "Tiny" right? BUT he's not tiny at all is he? In fact he's anything BUT Tiny . . . . he's a fucking behemoth, a Giant! And his voice, it's gargantuan! His lungs must be as big as a fucking Horse or maybe a big Donkey . .There is so much nuance in what basically, is a big bloke, with a voice that's technically nothing special, bellowing like a fucking Bull with his bollocks in a bramble bush. But the anguish! The raw, primal torque as he winds his voice up another notch, and your bowels go all watery for a second. This is not just another big fat bloke shouting lyrics out, like he's fucking Meatloaf or someone, there's unbelievable control there too. At 2.47, "Gary Glitter's goooone to seed, so WHO will lead us, NOOOOOW" He takes a whole breath there, just to hold that "Now" . . . The sheer impact, and emotional aggregation there, almost beggars belief. Fucking awesome.
Remember seeing Ultrasound at The Garage in Glasgow blowing Travis away on their own patch. Brilliant. Shame all the Travis fans were still in the bar and missed the show.
@Vanessabest33 Please, please, please, I was going to say don't leave it to Shed Seven to re-unite and remind us of our age and how bad they were, but I think they've only gone and done it. So as we all might be having a mid life crisis please come and blow away the corporate cobwebs with your brilliance!
PLEASE FORGET THAT IDEA OF UNDERRATED BAND! UNDERRATED BY WHOM??? NOT BY ME FOR SURE!!! FORGET THE CHARTS! FORGET THE T.V! THE REAL THING HIDES SOMEWHERE ELSE! ENJOY
Thanks, I think the party is over. I am a music teacher now thanklessly dragging teenagers through school. I really miss being creative. It might be time to take control and change a few things.............. Its nice to still be appreciated. x

Thankyou pure genius
Was a great time in the 90s,thanks for the memories
Undoubtedly one of the most underrated and overlooked songs of the past thirty years. What a performance!
Their first album was so good..
Go on.......someone start a campaign for a reunion gig. Either Im having a mid life crisis or the whole break up was a terrible mistake. It would be unbelievable to play those songs with the boys again.

This _is_ rock'n'roll. You don't need any other flavours. This is it. It was then. And it is now. Giant.
What an incredible song. It just takes me back to my youth and I love it.
Great 90's band! Still sounds as good today.
Tiny had odd hair!
Thanks for up loading.
I get total goosebumps still listening to this song. I also loved 'Kurt Russell'. Ace.

Just a shame they fell out (?)
They are still my favorite band. I went to see them @ Cambridge 1998 supporting Placebo.
Amazing...
I saw them supporting Placebo at Reading students' uni probably in 1998 too. Placebo were meh, Ultrasound were amazing!
Gorgeous
Just been to see the gig at the Brudenell in Leeds - words to describe it difficult to come up with, but magnificent nearly does it!
What a feckin amazing song!!! I miss Ultrasound!!!
Magnificent band - saw Tiny when he was fronting "A-pop-a-cat-a-petal" (supported Cardiacs at the Astoria) - he kept blowing fountains of water into the air like a whale- we got drenched!
Rock and roll. Xxx💗💗💗
I'm actually ashamed to admit that I had forgotten what a brilliant song this was/is.
I was at the legendary Camden Falcon gig in 97 in the back room when there was maybe 50-60 people and many of them A&R men. So glad I got to see them in London at the LA2 (now The Mean Fiddler) before they split up.
Saw Ultrasound at Break For The Border last week, played Stay Young right at the end...fucking epic. Crowd went fuckinig batshit when this came on. Tiny was in fine form.

Haha, I can hardly breath, it so funny! His name, lelel, he's called "Tiny" right? BUT he's not tiny at all is he? In fact he's anything BUT Tiny . . . . he's a fucking behemoth, a Giant! @badhead Sorry our mistake...someone got the wrong end of a random stick
Remember seeing Ultrasound at The Garage in Glasgow blowing Travis away on their own patch. Brilliant.
Shame all the Travis fans were still in the bar and missed the show.
That audio cutting out is so annoying, but otherwise brilliant band and song!
tell her from me she was unlucky and should have been a superstar.
Aire and calder
@Vanessabest33 Please, please, please, I was going to say don't leave it to Shed Seven to re-unite and remind us of our age and how bad they were, but I think they've only gone and done it. Unfortunately Gary Glitter did actually go to 'seed'..
And yes, the chick on Bass is STILL hot.
PLEASE FORGET THAT IDEA OF UNDERRATED BAND! UNDERRATED BY WHOM??? NOT BY ME FOR SURE!!! FORGET THE CHARTS! FORGET THE T.V! THE REAL THING HIDES SOMEWHERE ELSE! ENJOY
Such a shame that this band have been forgoton. they shit on Razorlight, and most other bands that are around today.
Shame about the Gary G litter lyric otherwise this would have been a minor classic
Mansun did all this so much better.
The chick on the base is hot? Really? Must be some sort of English sliding scale.
Sleepy people put into acceptable form for retro market
Pafrtiu was pberdafryef the sleepie
