2024 in tears listening to this and War..RIP Peter Tosh and Bob Marley
We are in terrible uncertain times my brother
Praying for peace and blessings 🙏
The old must crumble and fall in order for the New Earth to come. Challenging times, indeed, for many people but if you can grow most of your own food and have a skill to barter and trade, and live in a small community, you will thrive.
Here. Stuck in this concrete jungle. Jah come for us
Ditto❤
I am so blessed to have access to this immaculate energy
The backing vocals are haunting. They were a truly amazing force.
Just what i needed roots energy
This brings tears to my eyes just watching Bob sing with all his heart and amazing harmonies. This is the first thing I want to wake up to when I die. Pure heart and soul.
How do U know that U havent already died an U are Alive for the Judgement of the Living Lord GOD Almighty Most High ?

Imagine his perspective.....coming from the streets of Trench town....he thought he was going somewhere special on his way to London.....he saw Brixton, black community, and it blew his mind. And he wrote this beautiful song about his experience. True words sung from the soul ❤️🙏🏾
Crazy. A dream sold to the windrush generation to be met with brutality and racism!
Me as a child of Irish immigrants who arrived at the same time as a lot of Caribbean people can relate! Remember the signs.. No blacks no dogs no Irish. 🇮🇪 🇯🇲
@@hakmac5346united we stand my brother. Big up Ireland 🇮🇪🇯🇲

Oh really,I didn’t know thanks for the info in a masterpiece ❤️
@@frankstared Yes indeed Homo Sapiens of all lands unite.
Men die but their deeds live forever in the memories of the loved ones... Bob Marley never died for his message is still relevant (2024 & beyond)
💚💛❤️🖤
Have listened to this many times, still gives me goosebumps .What a performance, sung from the heart. "Who feels it, knows it".
Amen brother ❤
Chanteur de cœur ❤

I wish you are alive today Marley, your words would surely help heal some of the pain of today's humanity
They took him out , they would do the same today, when we learn not to shoot the messenger
💯 an absolute legend was Bob Marley 👍

"They" is skin cancer?
@@SPIDERM0OSE I read a story about them having a needle in his soccer boot, I would not put it passed "them", wasn't an attempt made on his life already before that and he still went ahead with the concert regardless!
My dad passed away in 2020, and for his funeral, they asked us to select 5 songs… at that time I realised how tough it is to find 5 songs that define a person! Since then I’ve been trying to find mines… what a challenge! But this one came as an easy answer, this song touched my soul so deeply ❤ long story short, only 4 more to find 😅
This is such a beautifully crafted song, the opening 30 seconds just seem to emerge out of nowhere, gradually forming into shape and then those delicate, haunting vocals which quickly take on genuine anguish yet with an underlying message that there must be something better than this. Extraordinarily well performed live, it's heartfelt and a masterpiece.
“Never known what happiness is, never know what sweet grace is”…if you ever lived in a big city living in poverty, that lyric just hits so good describing that life.
It's an angelic choir singing background vocals. Ever since the album release the harmonizing of this song never ceases to amaze me.
@klopek24 a
@klopek24 lol....eh sounds exactly like the recoeded version,,,,mmmmmm

I love the Peter Tosh era of the wailers ❤. He was a driving force for the band.
And Bunny
No wonder the "Tosh era" is called just "The Wailers" because it includes Bunny too... unfortunately, this channel can't be bothered to change that.
Every era is magical, Junior Marvin era was also brilliant with smashing hits like Babylon system
2024 still in the concrete jungle 😢😅😊❤😢
Im moving soon, now is far worse than when this song was written, and it became impossible for me live here.
Much love from Valencia, Spain.
The characteristics of the 3 men: Bob, Bunny, and Peter;
Bob got the SOUL
Bunny, the genuine singer among them.
Peter is the real Musician!!
God bless their souls 🙏 ❤️ ♥️ They'll be forever missed 🙏 😢
Living in England I was a first generation immigrant, from the windrush Generation. This was on the BBC old grey well meband my brother's were spellbound. My dad came in and saw that and went ballistic cause how could Jamaica send such a rag taggle band of Musicians to the BBC. Bless him he wasn't to know. What was hidden from the wise and prudent will be revealed to babe and suckling.
Rest in Power

One of the best recorded songs ever and yes ever!
It so precisely portrays the human condition
no matter how many years had passed, not only the music and song but the Bob prediction about future...
I'd have ta agree 👍💯
Yes indeed❤💚💛
Its been my phone alarm sound for years, in my opinion the Wailers best production, Bunnys moves are seriously dread
This song and their soulful performance gives tears to my eyes
NEVER GETS OLD!! 🙏🏻☮️💕
One of my favorite songs ❤❤😢
Omg this song is the TRUTH !!!!! I know the concrete jungle and it’s hard living . Uncle Bob, uncle Bunny& uncle Peter you guys are blessed .
No sun will shine in my day today
(No sun will shine)
The high yellow moon won't come out to play
(Won't come out to play)
Darkness has covered my light
(And the stage) and the stage my day into night
Now, where is this love to be found?
Won't someone tell me 'cause life (sweet life)
Must be somewhere (sweet life) to be found (somewhere, somewhere for me)
Instead of a concrete jungle
Where the living is harder (in a concrete)
Concrete jungle (jungle)
Oh man, you've got to do your best, yeah
No chains around my feet but I'm not free
I know I am bound here in captivity
And I've never known happiness
And I've never known sweet caresses
Still, I be always laughing like a clown
Won't someone help me 'cause I (sweet life)
I've got to pick myself (sweet life) from off the ground, yeah (somewhere, somewhere for me)
In this here concrete jungle (la la-la)
I say, what do you got for me, now?
Concrete jungle (la la-la)
Oh, why won't you let me be, now? (concrete jungle)
I said that life (sweet life)
Must be somewhere (sweet life) to be found, yeah, yeah (somewhere, somewhere for me)
Instead of a concrete jungle (jungle)
Where the living is hardest (concrete jungle)
Concrete jungle (jungle)
Oh man, you've got to do your best, yeah (concrete jungle)
Concrete jungle (jungle)
You name it
In this concrete jungle
(Jungle, jungle)
Concrete jungle, you name it, we got it
Concrete jungle, now
(Jungle, jungle, now)
I loved Bob, Peter & Bunny. Concrete Jungle gr8 beat and song.

Love the background vocals the way they harmonized this song is beautiful, it put you in a celestial vibe❤
Great Peter Tosh Great Great singer
I think I read in the songs performed on The Old Grey Whistle Test they sang live over recorded instrument tracks, which I think is a shame... but that was TV back then. But as far as the singing goes, they sounded SO GOOD!!!
This is beautiful
the wailers entertaining in heaven
Just saw his sons last night what a blessing 💗💗💗💗 🇯🇲🇵🇦

Yep, I never knew those black back up singers could actually sing at all, i thought they were mining the words and someone else had pre recorded it.

happy birthday 79th robert nesta marley one love👍🍻🍺
My favourite track by Bob, plus first live performance in UK.
Classic, timeless and superimposed with beauty and harmony.
The pained expression on Bob's face says it all. Awesome performance; this is the way this track is meant to be listened to. Everyone who loves Catch a Fire should check out the original Jamaican recording without the overdubs; way more urgent. Crucial.
No chains around my feet but I'm not free
⛓💨💨💯❣
As great as the later stuff was, I'm not sure they ever did better than this album. Peter the man Tosh, my Dad's favorite! ⚽
