    I've searched the entire internet for the best piano arrangement of the 2nd Mouvement of Beethoven's 7th symphony. All of them were either not played the right way,, bad quality or good but not excellent. This is by far the best I've ever seen. It's played like its supposed to be played. Thank you so much for sharing!

    O my god...Liszt is known for the extreme technical transpositions of Schubert's lieder like Erlkonig or Standchen...but here, it's a symphony.
    Strings, winds, horns...and it's pretty perfect.
    The pianist gives a very good interpretation.

    This and the transcription of the 3rd Symphony are really Liszt's best among the 9.
    I must say though, as much as I liked your performance I was not a fan of your decision to go out of tempo in the Coda of the finale as the bass ostinato figure starts.
    This part has to sound absolutely manic, and if you suddenly start to introduce heavy rubati and trying to make it "interesting" it just doesn't.

    • @AjitP
      @AjitP 3 года назад +1

      I loved the choice. Capturing the symphonic "feel" in a transcription is really difficult, and I think stretching the tempo allowed the ear to make more sense of the rumble in the bass which might otherwise have been obscured by the RH work. Von Karajan does something similar in one of his versions of the 7th, and it works well there too.

  • @openclassics

    There where one or two mistakes...
    😂💦💦💦💦
    By the way: I arrange alot by myselfe.
    Liszt was forced by contract to stick at the score as close as possible. With the sacrifice of dangerous playing and not optimal sounding for piano.
    For example I play the theme of the Exposition (1st mov) in tremolochords while the left hand is simply groove-hammering the shit out of the piano. It sounds amazing. Or the following p-part with left-hand Arpeggio and an Octave deeper in the repeat.Sounds better and: MORE SIMPLE!!!
    MAKE NOICE!!!
    According to a more authentic Beethoven than Liszt‘s Original skeleton version. Beethoven composed the sheet at his piano. So bring it back to the root!!!
    Anyway:
    Your play is perfect and outstanding!!!
