Buuuwuuuhahahahahahaaaaaaah!!
Thank you fellas, from your friends here at Hotone!
We are going to get to work on a jeans pedalboard for the Captain soon!
Add a "T" and you can say 'Hot Tone".
Nicholas Robshaw v
You guys should do an updated video since Hotone has come out with tons of new pedals since then, especially their new phaser and flanger pedals
it's probably only because of the youtube compression but I kind of dug that furry fuzz. it gave me a white stripes type of vibe.
As I was watching the video I would stop and add the pedal I liked to my Sweetwater wishlist...and ended up with the whole line LOL
These pedals are the best looking pedals i have ever seen IMO, once i heard that blues pedal i was like :O MUST HAVE!! nice review guys! always a pleasure to watch.
Great review guys, i really enjoy the interaction between the two of you and the nice, relaxed mood you create. Here's to you guys!
ITS PRONOUNCED HOT-TONE, THAT CAME FROM THE ACTUAL COMPANY
I love Hotone pedals! Their loop pedal is ridiculous fun.
Good show. Good job in demonstrating sound of those pedals. Good guitar playing as we'll. enjoyed it!
Thanks guys. Great review. Very entertaining. And the most enjoyable 28 mins I've spent online today. Cheers :)
I like his laugh and I think it deserves way more than 1,000 likes
Nice....I wonder what your views on the Wally Looper pedal...
The "Whip" sounds ALMOST like my EHX Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker, which I love. The "Chunk is also very nice as is the "Ekko? Echo?". Great analog sounding delay.
Cherub Rock was explosive!!!!
Legit, that Cherub Rock riff was the reason I bought the Whip. Also, it's an awesome pedal in general.
@@DareBear2099 but they used something more like the fury aka big muff
Rob and Lee - You guys are compete plonkers. Keep up the great work.
I love how rob completely trolled the close up cam!!!
My guitar tutor at BIMM was talking about these pedals. I am completely sold .
should do the mooer cheap range of pedals next and compare, as they are very similar. Great review guys!!!
Also when you guys mention about delay in front of amp, you should do about effects going into effects loop etc.
Keep up the good work!!
the "whip" got me excited
The Captains playing has become so much better over the past few videos.
Really enjoyed this review. Do you have any dates for your Birmingham road show that you can share with us yet?
That "Whip"... Deary me that was nice!
God, these pedals sound great. Really rock.
You almost lost me before breaking out the cherub rock...
I literally just bought this pedal because of the Cherub rock.
I think that you have improved your sound quality in these demos, thx.
LIVE IN YOUR EYES!
Was thinking the exact same thing! Really cool sound from the "Whip"
I don't know about anyone else, but I loved that fury/furry fuzz pedal.
that deep intro was great... also, what was the slippery when wet tune? i didn't recognise it.
The laugh at the intro is hilarious!!, gotta love Chappers!
This was truly enjoyable, and I loved the vid! =)
But if you're up for some advice, I would suggest comparing each pedal on the same points. And what I mean by that, is that I want to hear how all the pedals sound when playing a chugging, palm-muted riff, a high pitched solo and an open chord strumming pattern.
Cheers!
Lee's playing gets tastier with each video. And Rob, so does yours. I like when you play with a not too dirty amount of gain.
According to the promo videos on the Hotone site, they pronounce it "hot tone". I still call them Ho-tone.
Nice honest review with marks out of 10. What we like to see.
Chappers, Captain, so you know, you've recently given me a massive motivational movement back in guitar and it is wonderful
was about to say the same...that "whip" sound was simply amazing
Great video, I agree with Rob on the Pedals, those were my picks also.
Dressing as Rob Chappers this Halloween. Dreads and guitar and everything. Even the wizard hat
I'm a blues man, and Captain I dig your blues guitar playing. Don't belittle yourself dood.
The captain definitely has some skills. What a feeling!
my 3 pedal choices would be the whip, chorus, and compressor. The whip to me sounded amazingly good, smashing pumpkins song with the whip was just awesome
Sweet play as always from Capt. Lee and shred-master Chappers!
You guys should do a hotone vs mooer pedals shootout
you are probably the best reviewers ever. good job guys
@24:23 there is a super cool creepy ghostly voice sounding thing going on in the overtones, or in the repeats, or wherever, or whatever or ahhh idk but it’s whenever you play the lick at that time...
Love how the Capt actually references Pokemon in the vid!
OMG ! 14:52 :') the sound the captain makes
I love that when Chappers finds a distortion pedal that he likes, he goes straight to Satriani
Great demo/review. I think I'm going to take your advice and make a tiny pedalboard and play my tiny Hofner Shorty guitar (which I bought based on Chapper's You Tube video) into my tiny ZT Lunchbox amp. A totally cool miniature rig. Now if I could only do something to reduce my 6 foot 240 pound body. Happy Halloween, guys!
Excellent demo, informative and entertaining.
Does anyone actually miss The Captain and Douche Bag reviews?
Are they gone? Still real to me
What are talking about Rob? That fuzz is awesome!!
Yea! Happy Halloween!
I figured out what's missing whenever one of them cracks wise with a pun - a quick lick from the guitar ala rim shot. They call them interspersals in the biz.
You guys are great! Happy halloween from Norway
Whip deserved a higher Chappers rating. Personally, I liked the Fury through the dirty setting, but it would only work in certain limited contexts. Pair these with a OneControl Micro Distro and you'd have an awesome mini board.
Intro was BADASS!!!
Happy Halloween Andertons crew!
I'm trying to build a "tiny pedal" board, but it's taking awhile, as finances are limited. I started with a Malekko Chicklet, a Malekko Tremolo and a Lovepedal Echo Baby. I'm considering a vibe, another delay, 2-3 dirt pedals and probably a mini amp head such as the Hotone Purple Wind. I'm in the process of building a pair of stackable 1x12 cabs which should give me a pretty neat, highly portable setup.
Don't forget the mini Tc spark
Expertly done at 9:10 Chappers and Cap't! I love the stomp box feel of Cherub Rock.
Pretty good for what they are. I think the fuzz may have been faulty, I was watching a couple of other videos of it earlier and it sounded A LOT better.
Would be interested in a review of the Hotone mini amps if Andertons decided to stock them. One is based on the Marshall Super Lead and another on the Vox AC30. They're both solid-state, amp in a pedal type affairs but adapted into a tiny, head amp format. Both are 5 watts so might be interesting for those that want something bedroom friendly.
Aww yes, Chappers throwing out some Vai and Satriani. He should do it more often!
Ya'll should review Rocksmith 2014- it seems like you'd have a lot of fun with the session mode feature.
Cheers Buddy
MAKE SURE TO DO A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL !!!!!
Wait till you see the review...!! We did the Protone Dead Horse Deluxe. Hope you like it.
SYSTEM OF A DOWN!
(I had to, they are my favourite group of all time)
Same here I love them so much
Wow these sound VERY good!!
I am pleasantly surprised! :D
Good job guys. Really! Thank you for the video! :D
+1 for mentioning Diablo
I'm getting a KOMP and maybe a Whip metal. Was I the only one that liked the little purple fuzz pedal? Lol
+TheGamer361 I have a fury fuzz and love it.
+bonez braker I love fuzz in general, it's awesome
+TheGamer361 If you like oldschool style cream fuzz but it does sound like a cheap fuzz-face. Rob likes really cutting sounds but he plays in a band as well so he might know that it just won't come through in band setting.
rob likes the chunk pushed in
Some of those little things sounds great !!
Id like to see a Chappers and Captain review of Protone pedals, specifically the Misha, the Dead Horse, and The Keith Merrow Sea Nymph :D
Nice job with cherub rock!
When is the RedTower track coming out! I am so excited for it! :D
Great review guys!
my god that intro was sick
that fuzz sounds completely different in the other videos, im hoping it doesn't sound like it does in this vid because i just ordered one. maybe they just didn't spend long enough to find the sweet spot or theirs was faulty. not sure whats going on or what the pedal actually sounds like....ill probally have to do a vid when it arrives.. very curios
Benarama Does did yours sound any better?
I actually liked it, stick an octave pedal in front of it and you're golden. Good for stoner rock type stuff
haha you can always tell when you guys have had a nice cup of good ole coffee .
im not a massive fan of fuzz pedals but the fury fuzz really does it for me sorta makes me think queens of the stone age the only fuzz for me right there
SRV didn't use bass frets. Just jumbo ones.
13:16 - I want that ring tone for my phone!!!... Good review!!!
thumbs up for the diablo soundtrack!
Why aren't all pedals this size? This is genius.
Digging this guys.... How about how to tie them all to a pedalboard.... (what to use)...
I liked that whip, but I love that song too.... we all know we've done it before, buying a pedal that you would otherwise overlook if it wasn't for one song.
Cherub Rock
Black hole Sun
All Hendrix songs...
I still liked it though. Dang it!
Would it be worth doing a comparison of Hotone and Mooer? The BATTLE OF THE MINIS
this is so awesome because I was listening to the Surfin' with the Alien album in the car today.XD
All straight into the amp...
Love you two guys. and great pedals. I may try to get one.
i think because of their size this are meant to be "set it, forget it" type pedals for younger players, maybe little xmas pressies for a parent who child has just started playing to give thier child
system of a down!!
and next to that this was a great video and a great review!!!
thanks a lot
I liked the fuzz one, but I only think it would work for synth-y tones though.
OMG you understand Cantonese? Nice!
Also, the last Lee evil laugh reminds me of Thriller by MJ!
FYI: Tripps said that fuzz sounds best with a bridge single coil into a Marshall amp. :)
You guys should review the new slash signature guitar :)
I'm not sure what Fury is supposed to sound like. but i think it has a good sound
The Fury sounds like when you use a neck humbucker with the tone backed way off...
The Grass is supposed to have a Dumble feel.
