Another update on the coolest surface rc ever made by mankind, quite possibly the best rc ever made in history...only second to the saturn V and falcon 9 launch vehicles.
Every time I watch one of these videos, I'm just blown away all over again at the level of dedication, ingenuity, and downright over-the-top skill involved in this build! Just incredible, and that's coming from a professional (retired) toolmaker. Total respect.
I'm so inspired by this, I grew up with a machinist for a father whom honestly to my sadness never really taught me anything he knows or offers. But dispite never being taught I too picked up a welder and now buying my first lathe and mill. Had thought to myself too then taking design and CAD in school. I built some crazy stuff, but never seen it come to fruit! This inspires me so much more to build everything I've ever imagined and keep on inventing! Theres quite a few I see whom would like to see your manual tool work even super sped up!
You're saying that like ad if looting, plundering and subjugating others is a good thing. The guys is building a car, not sure why you would divert the attention from engineering to imperialism.
@@lupussolus6733 If you asked the same question about subjugation being a good thing of the entire world, 80% would *still* answer yes, and tell you who's on the top of their list. It's an illusion of living in the first world that ruling over others is frowned upon everywhere.
Meanwhile I draw so called blueprints on a napkin or scrap piece of paper and machine parts for my humble erector set steam truck. You are an inspiration and a mechanical genius. Thanks for sharing.
You are a true craftsman!!! Much respect!! I know what kind of effort it takes to make a piece of machinery like that, especially on a manual lathe/mill!! You are of a dying breed...!
i've been watching these since day one, i always get excited when i see a new video, i'm so excited to see the final products, that gearbox is a work of art!! Edit: noooooo the video ended i wish it was longer
Very good, perfect job and a garage of dreams. There are so many tools at the disposal that makes any small F1 team jealous. Congratulations on your efforts.
this is absolutely amazing ,, I have been following this build since you started building the V10 engine ,one of the most wonderful machines i have yet seen
Amazing build. I've been watching this very closely. One observation on the gearbox - you're using straight cut gears, so they're going to make a lot of noise. That's not a problem just don't be surprised. Check backlash on each combination, more backlash = more noise. Can't wait to see it drive under petrol power. Best of luck.
Mir fehlen die Worte um es in Englisch auszudrücken.... Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es etwas vergleichbares auf der Welt gibt. Das ist technisch das absolut krasseste RC Car "weltweit"! Wow!!!!!!!!!
Keith you are killing the game rite now I have never seen anything like this I'm actually overwhelmed with the amount of amazement I am experiencing rite now. Very well done keep us updated!
Amazing work... as always... You're a complete Master. As an Aircraft Mechanical Engineer of 27 years, I can see how much time and talent this has taken thus far. Deeply impressed. Big Cheers from Sydney mate!
Most of the clattering is because it’s a motorcycle crash box, so there’s intentionally a lot of play in the drive dogs. Yes, hopefully 1/4 full of oil will help.
Imagine a child being strapped into a seat attached to this baby. If you did that then put on a fake steering wheel and stuff then sent the little guy/girl around a track it would make one hell of a video. And you may get a little prison time but it would be a youtube sensation.
Wow this is amazing! For the time u put in it you would have to sell it for like 60 70 grand but i love the machine work you do and what you have made here, i think i found my main love in life thank you!!
Hey there ,... I’ve been watching your videos since you’ve started this project.... and I must applaud you ...! This is one of the most comprehensive and detailed RC builds I have ever seen.... you have machined every component imagined necessary... beautiful work ..!
This is a wonderful build and I’m looking forward to seeing how it finally turns out. I gotta say I’m absolutely in awe of what you are achieving here, it’s quite amazing. I certainly wish I had your level of expertise, then I wouldn’t be so stuck at a dead end in a (probably simple to you) project I’m trying to do. *SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!!* 😩
dont be afraid to use more plastic. thats a lot of metal, unless your bolting more than 50hp to the chassis. i think in this case a cvt 2 stage transmission would be good solution. your trying to keep this project authentic to real f1 today, but this is rc. very nice project keep up the build. thanks for the updates.
Yes, it’s far heavier than I anticipated. I suppose it will look more realistic when driving, but it’s 62kg already, without the gearbox, which is crazy heavy.
Looks amazing Keith, thanks for the update! It could be a play of light, but some of that drag might be coming from what looks to be a warped gear, look at the one at the upper-left from 3:53.
No the gears are all free. That gear has a bit of slop on the spline but there’s not much I can do about that apart from metal spray the splines a bit. I think the drag is from the oil seals so hopefully should free up a bit when there’s oil in it.
I think it's pretty amazing that is still people able to build this sort of stuff at home especially with a manual machine.
Manual machines hahaha sure
@@crationis Have you seen the blog this guy has? Some of the setups he's done are insane!
@@crationis what do you think parts were made on before NC machinery? Did they just fall out of the sky?
I cant imagine how much time and knowledge went into building this car. Absolutely amazing
Would love to see some of the work that goes into making this.
Looks amazing
An incredible undertaking, and huge progress since the last instalment.

What's your day job? Can't be just a hobbyist with this much precision
My day job is mechanical and electrical design. I’m self taught though on machining. Been at it a long time!
That gearbox is almost robust enough for a full scale car..
Was just thinking the same thing 😂
The motor on this is probably a lot more torqueie than a normal rc car but it does look like over kill
@@whiphore in the future I’m hoping for maybe 20hp of electric power and 5-10hp from the V10, depending on if I supercharge it, or put nitrous on it.
@@Keith5700 that would be so awesome. No harm in doing both.
@@Keith5700 You could try for nitromethane, a middle ground.
Most interesting project on RUclips. Period
Every update gives me a smile to see this progressing more and more. It makes me wish I stayed in the Manufacturing field.
Still amazed at the level of engineering that went into that car. Absolutely stunning.
I love it when you have been saving some special bolts for years, just for the right project and then that project comes along.
The god of all model cars. Can't wait to see the final build.
Outstanding build!!! Next build idea.........BAGGER 288!!!! You got the skill.

Best rc car build on RUclips hands down !!
This rc car build will make history , yes I said it .
Check out this channel. Another great one.

This is the best RC build series in the world! You should make a proper documentation this car.
Man can’t wait to see it run

Wow! It's great to see progress on your build. It seems very sturdy. Hope you get the weight down without compromising too much.
Finally! Waited for a long time to see the gearbox. Hopefully we'll soon get a video of it installed in the car!
