Just did the job today. Needed 4 hours. Ended up not removing the front collector pipe all the way, just loosened the nuts so that I could wiggle the pipe enough to uninstall the mid pipe. I was scared I wasn’t able to fit the nuts back on if I had removed them completely. There is no space it’s really a torture. I also was able to remove the oil hose clamp without destroying it so I could reuse it. For the rest I followed exactly what you did. Great video, thanks so much!
Good job. I plan to remove mine because ive seen the snorkel in other bikes blocked with silicone from overuse of silicone on side covers. . So would recommend anyone doing this clean and give snorkel a good check for bits blocking flow.
A suggestion, replace the worm drive hose clamp on the oil cooler pipe for an original crimped clamp, the original style seals better and slows for expansion by designed in ‘springiness’ so it can expand and contract with the hose and set a proper clamping torque, worm type hose clamps can become loose over heat cycles and or cut the pipe 👍
I think putting oil or grease on the gasket is useful for removal in the future. Putting it on dry, it will start to stick and will be harder to remove in case you have to replace your oil pan again...
Alby If i was to remove the water pump from my 2019 aprilia Tuono 1100rr, which is exactly like yours. Would I need to drain the oil. It seems as if the pump is high enough to not have to drain oil at all, just the coolant. What do you think? There are 2 bolts to remove the water pump, and a few hose clamps.
That is insane, I just went back to look at my order to make sure I wasn't telling you stories and the oil pan PN#8997556 that I bought June 5, 2020 NEW, was $87.20 and included washer and drain plug.
Nice and helpfully video Albe. Thank you, a little question that I need a answer about oil drain washer diameter? I will buy before my service because they don't have in their hands
Hi Halil, the diameter (internal and external) and the thickness of the washer is paramount, because the washer is supposed to spread into grooves in the oil pan and oil drain plug, even a fraction of a millimeter wrong might prevent a good seal because it doesn't spread enough or crack the pan and get stuck in the hole cause it spreads too much. So I highly recommend to buy the OEM Aprilia washer, I wrote the part number in the description. Of you really want I can measure one of mine for you BUT I wouldn't try to find a generic match for it.
@@AlbesADV Thank you Albe, very helpfully answers. our Distributor didn't import washer to our Country. Because of this. But I will buy some from Amazon. Kind Regards
@@AlbesADV thanks for responding! Another question: at 6:59min of the video there is the exposed tube (rose pipe), the one you are calling ""snorkel". The thing is that in order to instal the new mod gasket (SKU: COMS090023 that is suggested as an alternative for the original one), I needed to remove the tube. In my bike, same as in yours, unlike in the service manual, it comes out easily, with no fastening screw. I managed taking it out and putting back. The engine is running fine after assembly. Although, I'm concerned about it falling out (due to the fact that it's came in relatively easily). Do you have any experience with that? Thanks!
@konstantinfeinberg5153 hi, there are 2 things holding the tube in place, 1 is the o-ring up top, 2 the tube is very close to the bottom of the oil pan, close enough that it shouldn’t be able to fall off.
@@AlbesADV thanks so much for your prompt and informative response! even AF1 rep couldn't provide a definitive answer:) based on what you are saying, I've done not a bad job. does it mean that when I inserted the tube back in, it "clicked" into to the o-ring....? I've made sure that it's in the maximally high stuck position and is held in pretty much firmly
Hi Dave, most likely, considering that every time I take the bike in for service I'm disappointed with the results, I'm starting to do more and more myself
@@AlbesADV I just did the exact same thing. Behaving like I was on my V-Strom. Dropped off a sidewalk and felt the thud. I didn't crack the pan but it seems to have deformed the oil drain hole just enough that I am now getting a tiny bit of oil weeping by the plug. I tried using sealant thread tape but still leaking a bit. Thanks in advance for this video.
@@AlbesADV LoL yup, swearing in 3 different languages sounds about right. For me, I couldn't reach those 2 with a tool. I had to unscrew also the radiator (that is the coolant radiator) just so I can push it about 20mm to the front so I can get there with the tool. my god, what a tedious job.
No wonder they get so much at the dealership to repair anything.... you saved alot of money and know your bike better now....!

Good Job Voodoo 👍 and thanks for watching my video
GREAT VIDEO. Your torque tips saved my ass when I had to do my oil pan. 🙏🙏🙏
Time to nut up or shut up.

Thanks man, I'll do that 👍
I sure hope it's the same for an RSV4 1100 because I am going to attempt it in a few days.
Should be pretty close, good luck man 😀👍
Nice video, that was a lot of work edited down to 15 min! I watched the windows in your garage door go from light outside to dark! Lol!

Hi L.T., there shouldn't be oil anywhere close to the water pump, you'll loose some coolant but that's about it 😀👍
Hey what was the torque setting for the exhaust head bolts , did you say 13 or 30 . Thanks Albe.
13nm 👍
Thank you for getting back to me much appreciated.
@Albe's Adv Do you know where I could possibly get the Oil Pan? I can't find it anywhere
I got mine from AF1racing.com
@@AlbesADV the only one I see on there is black for $249

hello, thanks for the video. apparently, the pan costs $250 with AF1. you mentioned a lower price!? The link you provided is not working. Thanks!
They probably raised the price lately, I just bought a tail conversion that used to be around $600 now is more than $800

@konstantinfeinberg5153 no, there is no clicking, just feels like is firmly in place 👍
you didn't use a "Swiss brand" motor oil this time, but a "British" one?
I like motorex a lot, but the manual recommends Castrol and I was able to find the exact one, so....British oil it is 😀👍
Did you reuse the oil pan bolts and spring washers? Or did you purchase new ones with the new oil pan?
No I kept the bolts and washer
Fantastic videos. Are you going to make a video of the valve clearance adjustment? Greetings from a tuono owner from Spain.
I’m not sure yet, we’ll see when it’s time 👍
@@AlbesADV ok. Thanks for your videos.
👍...I'd check the torque on that oil drain bolt though ...

Albe's Adv Yes. I do all my own work too, as nobody will care for your bike like yourself. Bonus is saving money at the same time 😁
Where did you find the pan I’m looking for one for a 3013 Tuono V4 R aprc
I got from AF1RACING.COM
Could you reply with tools required for the job so I can buy any I don’t have?
The only special tool is a torque wrench, everything else was assorted mertic sockets a set of metric allen keys and a couple of screwdrivers
Howd you hit a curb? Trying to sumo your tuono?
Lol, kind of, first hit was a tall speed bump, the second time, that really smashed it good, was coming down a side walk...

Where did you get the oil pan from so cheap?
