This is a great class! I am a former spin instructor 17 years but haven’t ridden in 5. I had a knee replacement 10 weeks ago and my doc and pt want me biking every day. Just bought a Sunny spin bike and this is my first class outside of recently riding a peloton at pt. I rode for only 20 at my own ability but you and the music were so motivating. Thank you. Can’t wait to revisit this and do the whole thing.

I just finished cycling with this 20 minutes video and it was awesome. I'm a beginner and I appreciate the little soreness. I'm looking to get that much better without the soreness. Oh yes, I'm sweating too!!!!

Cycling leads to hair fall, not me, I was cycling a lot in my teens and found my legs were getting very hairy, certainly the hairs were not falling out
@@ibrahimsalim1974 interesting fact: according to traditional chinese medicine hair belongs to the yin (yin-yang) and so does sweat. if you suffer from hairloss, you're deficiened in yin. and if you're sweating too much (every organism has a different limit), you're using up your yin.

Where is part 2
Thanks for posting this, even though it's kinda old. I just joined a new gym near me and they offer lots of spin classes. I'm nervous to try it because I never have before and don't want to look like a dummy since I'm not a biker. Can you still go at your own pace or slow down of necessary?

This may sound stupid, but how do I know what my percentage is? I bought a used Spinner bike from a gym that closed and I want to be able to do these classes, but my bike does not have a computer on it. Is there a specific computer that I need or will a heart rate monitor work? I didn't know if the percentages were heart rate or RPM's or something else. Thanks.
That's a good question, Julie! Percentage usually means heart rate. Hi! How do I check the rpm I’m at? Does it show at the little monitor on the bike? Also, do I have to have a heart rate monitor? Look forward to your reply 😊
Hey jr! If your bike comes with a sensor, you can check there on the monitor for RPMs. You don't need that or a heart rate monitor though, as the instructor will usually guide you to follow their pedal speed if you don't have an RPM monitor, and use Rated Perceived Exertion (RPE) for intensity if you don't have a heart rate monitor.

did my first class today over in the uk and it was alot more faster and intense than this and it was for 45 mins just pure speed, on and off but the spins were insane!

Sucks I don’t think my bike has rpm display.
You don't necessarily need RPMs to do this class; the trainer will guide you through other terms if you don't have a cadence sensor. Try it out and let us know how you like it!

Hey there! You can still follow along if you don't have RPMs. The instructors use different terms to guide you through the workout.

It means bike pedal revolutions per minute.

Hey there! Many people use different bikes, so we use terms like "one level harder for you" or "one gear up/down" or the RPE scale so people with different bikes can follow along.
Are spin bikes challenging enough to stay at 150-180 heart rate range for 30+ minutes? Are you able to get above 150 without having to stand?
I really need an exercise machine that easily gets me out of breath no matter how fit I get.

Hi Roby. The cool thing about Spinning is that you can totally go at your own pace and you are the one in charge of your own resistance setting. So be patient with yourself and try to just focus on you vs you. It does not matter if you keep pace with the instructor, that's not the most important thing. She is there to guide you and motivate you, not compete with you. Make sense? Take it over and over and watch how you improve! And also go over to www.studiosweatondemand.com/freetrial and try the classes there. There are tons of classes there, and a great variety of levels. You'll love them!
Thanks for the encouragement. I did this work out 2 or 3 times. The truth is that I had 2 hip surgeries 4 years ago for femoro acetabular impingement and after physiotherapy I never had the courage to start exercising again. Now I have realized I have to try at least to see if I can do it without hurting my hips. Not sure what caused my problems to begin with. I am starting very lightly every 2 days for 25 minutes.

Disappointed this session ends abruptly with the suggestion that you can get the whole workout by subscribing. I think it is a bit irresponsible not including a warm down
Hi David. Warm-up is so so important. This short class does have a warm-up, it's just only a few minutes, but the instructor also clearly guides you to do an extended warm-up into the second song for those that didn't warm-up on their own. Can you back it up and listen to where he says that please? And we found that if we do the longer videos on youtube at-home riders shy away from playing them, but we could be more clear about this being a partial class in the title and description. We'll adjust that and thank you for the feedback.

David Lee ah. Ok. Sorry. We refer to that as cool down. Almost all of our hundreds of online classes do include a cool dorm and stretch. On RUclips we mostly just put sample bits. I’m on board with you though. We very much believe it the importance of post workout cool downs and stretches. Sorry, but you should take this down. If someone is following along, they could injure themselves. This is aimed at beginner who won’t know to cool down and stretch on their own. It is totally irresponsible to have this up.
